it's funny, if they want to show

someone burning in Hell, why not the Rich man:

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Luke+16%3A19-31&version=ESV

“There was a rich man who was clothed in purple and fine linen and who feasted sumptuously every day. 20 And at his gate was laid a poor man named Lazarus, covered with sores, 21 who desired to be fed with what fell from the rich man's table. Moreover, even the dogs came and licked his sores. 22 The poor man died and was carried by the angels to Abraham's side.[a] The rich man also died and was buried, 23 and in Hades, being in torment, he lifted up his eyes and saw Abraham far off and Lazarus at his side. 24 And he called out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus to dip the end of his finger in water and cool my tongue, for I am in anguish in this flame.’ 25 But Abraham said, ‘Child, remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Lazarus in like manner bad things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish."

Several things are significant: a lot of these rich churches sell the idea that Wealth on earth is a sign of God's favor, not the part where "it is harder for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for the wealthy to enter the kingdom of heaven." The idea of rich people being favored by God is an idea of John Calvin, a person whose ideas sadly became the foundation for a major part of American culture.

Also, how was the rich man tormented?

He was given nothign but SALT to eat. Now, today, when salt is cheap, that will not mean much, but people in the time of Jesus woudl have known, SALT IS MONEY. It was what was paid to Roman Soldiers so they could march everywhere from France to Greece. It is where we get phrases like "worth his salt" or the word "salary". So basically, this miser was forced to have all the money he wanted, but also force to see how useless it was. Again, a fine rebuke to the Calvinists.

actually there is a point all miss

The point is not that the first lady of China dresses in European clothes and speaks English like any other leader in any other continent. The point is that the Elites of all nations have a lot more in common with each other than any of the people they lead. Think about it, two nations could be at war, be they European, Asian, African, North or South American, and their leaders will meet each other in a room, and realize they have more common interests than with any of the people they are sending to die, either in war or in factories and fields. It goes beyond the fact that, for example, Syria's leader, Bassad-al-shair is a known star trek fan, or that The Kims of Korea loved Broadway musicals. It goes to the fact that America is becoming the cultural platform for the Elites of the world to gather and plan their own revolution, the revolt AGAINST the masses.

America's greatest weapon was soft power, and sadly, her own elites scorn anything soft, willing to trade the culture everybody liked to being some puritan/libertarian empire that thankfully never was and thankfully never will be. The rest of the world saw what America did, adopted the superficiality, and made a culture for the elites to hide behind. The masses of the world will imagine their leaders talking, summoning all the strengths of their cultures for their interest, when really, they will be sipping Coke, and breaking the ice while talking about the latest Star Wars flick. To some extent, there is something noble, the fact that while French or Japanese culture may be old and rich, they never were made for anyone outside the elites, and the masses more or less rode in. Here, we claim to make a culture that is accessible for all, but since it is based on wealth, it becomes suited for the wealthy. Of course, the people who get left in the dust are the majority of Americans, who do not realize that the mass culture they were fed was to prevent them from thinking of terms of local regions and class interests.

For Veep, who would you pick?

and did the debate change your ideas about who should be the Democratic Veep?

Hillary's flip flops prove the left is winning.

Is it not funny to see Hillary change from this:

to opposing her former "Gold standard."

Or from this:

to opposing Keystone.

Friends, and by that I mean those of us on the Democratic wing of the Democratic party, as opposed to the "Reagan Democrats/Former Republicans" this is the time to pop the champagne, because we have proven that yes, we can apply PRESSURE to Hillary to lean right. The same "sensible" people who would lecture us on why Keystone and the TPP were needed are now going to have to backtrack in order to defend their Hillary.

This is a victory for two reasons:
1) it shows those of us who did not agree to a coronation are being listened to. Hillary wants so bad to sew this up so she can start attacking Trump, maybe finish off Jeb. She shows what the price of admission is: listen to unions more, listen to Wall Street less.

2) It shows to her that the whole wall of servile servants will not save her any more than in 2008. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz is failing, indeed, she has failed to even get past Bernie Sanders, who, in World Series terms, should have been shut out in Game 4 and sent home. But thanks to some errors, these games are going into extra innings. This is good, because those of us on the left know that these centrist snakes have HIJACKED the party, and to a large extent, Hijacked Clinton, but we know if she needs to hang these folks out to dry to win, she will. The same people that yell that she will NOT need us will be ignored by Hillary, who realizes she DOES.

Granted, most of us know that when Hillary wins, she will turn around in five minutes, ass Keystone and the TPP, and if she needs to , she WILL bring out Bill, aka "minister of splaining stuff" to sell it. All her courtiers and acolytes will go right back to explaining why the TPP and Keystone are good things, because they liked them anyway. However, even IF that happens, that will not erase the fact that the Democrats will win the office by doing some good old fashioned leaning to the left. Things will only get worse for the Reagan Democrats, as Hillary will realize that the only way she will find support against the hyper-enhanced, deep-pocketed Ultra rabid right wing will not come from the Centre, but from the left, just like Bill had to run to the left after getting caught doing stupid stuff with Monica. Throw in the fact that even Morning Joe cannot defend his old GOP Buddies in the House, and we on the left will have REAL momentum, not the buzz from fake special effects, but the kind that comes when the people trying to shoot at you realize they are out of ammo.

WE ARE WINNING, and YES we will keep it UP! At this rate, I am hoping Bernie mentions Glass-Steagall, so that Hillary can co-opt that too. Then the people who kept yelling that GS was not needed can get on here and say how Hillary was always in favor of it. Hey, if telling people that we were, as Orwell put it, "always at war with Eurasia" is what suits our purpose, have at it, but it will be cute to see some Acolytes try to co-opt our positions or the issue. It will sound like watching some six year old on America's got talent trying to do Gangsta Rap, so bad it is good.

WE ARE WINNING. THE LEFT IS WINNING.

I can respect you

However, there are two things I would ask you to look at.

One: many of the people who support Bernie or O'malley in the primary will indeed vote for Hillary if she wins. We have seen Hillary supporters outright say that we deserve to be THROWN OUT OF THE PARTY because we like someone else. You yourself do not sound like the coronation types, but go to a place like hillarysupporters.com and you will see pure hate. This is what will cause damage as many fo us, especially in purple states, know that the GOP will be out there with everything from corrupt cops to "gunmen with a history of mental illness" to red tape types trying to make sure that voting democrats is as difficult as it could be. When you will need nothign less than every vote counted, telling people that they will be thrown out of the party does not help.

again, if Hillary wins, I will vote for her, and I will say that I am thankful that we are not putting up someone like a Joe Liberman or Evan Bayh. However, now we get to point two:

Two:There are people already putting LOTS of pressure on Hillary to turn right. From the Lloyd Blankenfelds, to the Alice Waltons, there are big money people trying to ensure that vices on the left are ran over, not talked to, ran over. These are the people who WANT to cut social programs because they are "entitlements" They are the people who want Keystone, who want to destroy teacher's unions. We understand that Hillary is trying to get money, but for us, the only means of making sure she leans left to place pressure, and yes, that involves messy activism and reminding her she has to earn our votes. Take Keystone, for months, she wavered, finally speaking on it. Would she have done that if we on the left did not keep beating the drum? If we do not want the oligarchs to make us strangers in our own house, we have to set the rules, and apply pressure, because you know THEY are.

and last Three: Even those of us who at least like Hillary are seeing her make the same mistakes she did in 2008, mainly because many of the people who ran her campaign, and indeed the campaigns that helped turn congress into the GOP Fortress that it is, are still calling the shots. I live in Florida, and I can tell you, Debbie Wasserman Schulz has been a bane of democrats for a long long time. Right after the disaster that was the Charlie Crist campaign, she wants to run another former GOP for senate. She is also playing with the debates, which ensures that while the GOP GETS PRESS, Hillary stays in the background. Even if you think, as I do, that trump will crash, that only means that he bought them valuable cover, the Jebs, Rubios and Fiorinas can show up fresh as daisies, using their pacs to launch attacks that, as tried and stupid and sad as they are, still play to the choir. This is a double tragedy because, contrary to what many think, SNL showed she CAN show wit. I truly believe that Hillary's own staff are the worst thing to happen to her.

The point is, it is easy to demonize people, and sadly, many people that think they are helping Clinton (or for that matter , Sanders) are undermining the very iron unity we need in November. However, just because some fo us are not on the tran for the primary does nto mean we will not be in the general, but for many, that seems to not be good enough. That is like throwing out the entree an dessert because an appetizer annoyed, especially wrong because the people who will be hurt are those of us who are lucky to afford dollar hamburgers.

McGraw-Hill to rewrite textbook after mom's complaint

http://www.cnn.com/2015/10/04/living/mcgraw-hill-slavery-textbook-mom-complaint-feat/index.html

"Roni Dean-Burren took to Facebook last week to vent her frustration over the wording of a passage in her son's "World Geography" textbook that calls African slaves "workers" and "immigrants."

Seriously folks, whenever I hear people wonderign why we still talk about race, we have to point out crap like this, that was NOT an accident.

(Syria) would'nt it be nice

If we actually had a choice between a candidate that wanted to go to war and one that did not?

Think about it, Hillary on the democrats, and all of the Republicans, all are in harmony with one idea, that getting rid of Assad is worth killing for.

Worth risking WW3 for

worth risking nukes for.

and there is no choice either way.
