Elizabeth Warren: THIS IS DEMOCRACY

Congress passed the Affordable Care Act to solve a real, honest-to-God problem. Our health care system was broken. 48 million people in this country had no health insurance. Women couldn't get access to cancer screenings. People with diabetes were denied health insurance because of pre-existing conditions. People with cancer hit the caps on their health insurance spending. And health spending in this country was growing far too fast. So we worked hard, we compromised, and we came up with a solution. A solution that will substantially improve the lives of millions of Americans -- because that's the way a democracy works.

It's time to end the debate about whether the Affordable Care Act should exist and whether it should be funded. Congress voted for this law. President Obama signed this law. The Supreme Court upheld this law. The President ran for reelection on this law. His opponent said he would repeal it -- and his opponent lost by five million votes. Right now, Republicans are taking the government and the economy hostage, threatening serious damage to both unless the President agrees to gut the Affordable Care Act. For days, they even tried to change the law so that employers can deny women access to birth control coverage.

I am the mother of a daughter and the grandmother of granddaughters. I will never vote to let a group of backward-looking ideologues cut women's access to birth control. We have lived in that world, and we are not going back. Not ever. I see things like this and I wonder what alternate reality some of my colleagues are living in. So let me be very clear about what is happening in the real world: The Affordable Care Act is the law of the land. Millions of people are counting on it -- people who need health care coverage, people who need insurance policies that don't disappear just when they are sickest.

The law is here to stay, and it will stay. Now the government is shut down. We haven't fixed the sequester because of all the obstruction. We haven't finished a budget because of all the obstruction. We haven't even passed a single appropriations bill because of all the obstruction. The least we can do -- the bare minimum we can do -- would be to pass a "continuing resolution" to open the doors back up and turn the lights back on. We could ensure that over a million federal workers aren't staying home for no reason. We could end the government shutdown. But the Republicans have refused to do even that. They have shuttered the government unless the President agreed to de-fund the Affordable Care Act.

CRUZ BLAMES Obama's Fixation On Health Care For WWII Memorial Closure

Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) released a statement Wednesday faulting the Obama administration for the closure of the World War II Memorial in Washington, D.C.

Cruz's full statement:

President Obama is so fixated on forcing Obamacare on the American people that he's even willing to deny World War II veterans the right to access the memorial they have earned through their heroic service.

This scenario encapsulates the bigger problem in Washington. President Obama is so set on imposing his destructive, far-left ideology that his government is literally barricading World War II veterans out of their memorial and blocking funding to the Department of Veterans Affairs.

The House is on track today to pass individual CRs to fund Veterans Affairs and National Monuments, but Senator Reid and President Obama say they refuse to consider them, even though they agreed to pass a similar CR covering military pay on Monday night.

This is untenable and our veterans deserve much better, especially our disabled vets. During this debate we should focus on those areas of agreement and pass those CRs. That’s the practical way to proceed and the House deserves great credit for its leadership.

Honor Flight groups that planned to bring veterans to Washington were being granted access to conduct first amendment activities Wednesday at the World War II Memorial, according to National Mall and Memorial Parks communications officer Carol Johnson.

Reid: Ted Cruz Tells House GOP 'What They SHOULD DO'

Canadian eh?.......Oops!......

As the first federal government shutdown in 17 years entered its second day on Wednesday, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) accused House Republicans of taking orders not from Speaker John Boehner (R-OH), but Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX). "They're obsessed with Obamacare. Well now they've gotten their way. They shut down the government," Reid said on the Senate floor. "As (Minnesota Rep. Michele) Bachmann said, 'it's exactly what we wanted and we got it.' But none of their whacky ideas are any closer to becoming law.

"Instead of reading the writing on the wall, House Republicans have turned to a new idea: To cherry-pick a few parts of the got they like," he added. "Credit for this idea goes, I'm told, goes to the junior senator from Texas. He goes over to the House and tells them what they should do, he along with people like Bachmann and the tea party."

Cruz floated a piecemeal approach to funding the government if Senate Democrats refused to give way on the health care law a few days before House Republicans introduced several bills funding only the Department of Veteran Affairs, the National Parks Service and the Washington, D.C., government.

Rick Joyner: ‘Our Only Hope Is A MILITARY TAKEOVER’

Someone left the Zoo cage open.....Cue the 'Whack-A-Mole'...........

On yesterday's episode of "Prophetic Perspective on Current Events," Rick Joyner declared that democracy in America has failed and that the nation might not last even to the end of President Obama's term, warning that we are heading for a tyranny from which we can only be saved by a military takeover.

"There's no way our republic can last much longer," Joyner said, adding that "we're headed for serious tyranny" because the electoral system is so broken that the leaders we need who can save this nation will never win office. That is why "our only hope is a military takeover; martial law"
