Report: Arnold (The Terminator) Schwarzenegger intends To CHALLENGE LAW And RUN FOR PRESIDENT

Actor and former California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger is working to change the law so he can mount a 2016 presidential run, according to a New York Post report. The newspaper quotes unnamed sources who say the actor, who’s in New York City to promote his latest movie, “has been talking openly about working on getting the constitutional rules changed.” The source said the 66-year-old Schwarzenegger, a Republican, intends to file the necessary paperwork to challenge the rules.

The U.S. Constitution forbids foreign-born citizens from holding the chief executive position, but some legal experts have said it’s not completely clear that courts would enforce the law instead of letting voters decide. Constitutional amendments require two-thirds majority approval in both the House and the Senate and then must be ratified by at least 38 of the 50 states. The Austrian-born Schwarzenegger, who became a U.S. citizen in 1983, said three years ago in a “Tonight Show” interview that he would run for president if the law were changed.

If he mounted a presidential bid without a change in law, it would be interesting to see how Republican primary voters respond. According to a poll conducted in early 2012, more than 55 percent of self-described Republicans have always believed President Barack Obama was born in another country and another 8 percent once believed he was born in the U.S. but have since changed their minds. And Schwarzenegger, who’s separated from his wife, Maria Shriver, after admitting to fathering a son with a housekeeper, could face opposition from so-called family values voters.

SHE SAID ‘NO’ ...So This DRUNKEN Off-Duty Deputy Handcuffed And Assaulted Her

A Off-Duty Deputy Hit On A Marine.

An off-duty deputy of the Richland County, South Carolina Sheriff’s office is now unemployed thanks to his actions at a Buffalo Chicken Wings restaurant bar. Witnesses say that Deputy Paul Allen Derrick was drunk when he approached Brittany Ball, an off-duty Marine stationed at Fort Jackson. They claim that she rebuffed Derrick’s advances and that the two began to argue. After a few minutes, Derrick left the restaurant, returning from his car with a pair of handcuffs. He grabbed Ms. Ball, and pulling her hands roughly behind her back, handcuffed her. He then slammed her head into a metal table. Derrick shouted at Ball to alternately “Stand up!” and to “Sit down!” while holding her from behind. He took the opportunity to rest his hand on her breast while yelling, “This is how Marines deal with soldiers.” Told you he was drunk.

Customers got out their cell phones and started filming.

Luckily, several customers were recording the incident. They shouted at the off-duty deputy to let the woman go, that he had “crossed the line” and that they were calling “the real cops.” A few of the men approached Derrick but backed off when he threatened to arrest them, too. “Step away!” he yelled at them. Ball’s companion, Steven Hughes, was one of the witnesses who filmed the event:

“I said I’m going to start videoing this because I think something is about to get out of hand. And about the time I got my video out, he had her turned around and was putting her in handcuffs.”

http://www.wistv.com/story/23698228/deputy-fired-after-trying-to-arrest-soldier-at-bar

Soon, the Columbia, S.C. police arrived. They ordered Derrick to release Ball immediately, then started speaking to witnesses and viewing the video. They then took the drunken off-duty deputy into custody, charging him with assault and battery. They also confiscated a loaded gun that Derrick had on him, along with his ID and badge.

Derrick’s boss tried to protect him.

The Sheriff of Richland County, Leon Lott, stood behind his deputy at first. He asserted that the arrest was proper since Ball had been “resisting.” He also dismissed the report that Derrick had been hitting on the Marine, insisting that the deputy was only trying to calm the woman. After pressure from the community, Lott finally placed Derrick on unpaid suspension for the duration of the investigation. After meeting with Interim Columbia Police Chief Ruben Santiago and Fifth Circuit Solicitor Dan Johnson, Lott fired Derrick on Tuesday. The state attorney general noted that Derrick was not allowed to arrest anyone without another officer on the scene. This is per a Supreme Court ruling which limits the authority of Class 3 officers. So, goodbye to another law enforcement officer who abused his authority.

Ted Cruz, Mike Lee and House Republicans Are PLOTTING ANOTHER GOVERNMENT SHUTDOWN

Calling On John McCain..John McCain.......About that " NO SHUTDOWN AGAIN,..'I GUARANTEE IT' " promise you made..

.....

Sens. Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, and House Republicans are already plotting another government shutdown/default crisis in an attempt to stop the ACA. As soon as the bill was passed to reopen the government, the same Republican extremists who carried out the first government shutdown were already plotting round two. Rep. John Fleming (R-LA) told The New York Times, “I’ll vote against it, but that will get us into Round 2. See, we’re going to start this all over again.” On top of Fleming’s explicit threat, here is what Sens. Mike Lee (R-UT) and Ted Cruz (R-TX) had to say when Sean Hannity said that it looks like they aren’t going away.

Sen. Lee said, “We’re not going away, and neither are the many millions of Americans who have joined this dialogue, who have made their voices heard by Washington, D.C. And not only are we not going anywhere, but they aren’t either, because their numbers are growing, because more people are hurting as a result of this law every single day. And as they continue to call in and ask for help, we’re going to continue to do everything that we can to help them. And the way that we can help them is to stop this law, and to stop the implementation, and enforcement…We’re not going to fund it. That’s what we said then, and that’s what we still think we should do.” Sen. Cruz said that, “This is going to be multi-staged extended political battle.”

Democrats and Republicans who thought that Cruz, Lee, and their House Republicans would learn anything from the political spanking that just delivered to the by the American people were wrong. What President Obama tried to do in his speech this morning was build a coalition of Democrats and Republicans that will work around Cruz and the House extremists to get things done. It is up to House and Senate Republicans to get their fringe under control. President Obama and congressional Democrats are the last firewall of defense to prevent the far right Republicans in Congress from wrecking the economy, but Democrats have been placed in this role only because the House Republican leadership can’t control their own people.

McCain: NO SHUTDOWN AGAIN,..'I GUARANTEE IT'

Hey Johnny,.....you willing to stake your Senate seat on your so-called "guarantee" promise?.......

Sen. John McCain (R-AZ) predicted Thursday that the government will not shut down again any time soon.

"We're not going to go through the shutdown again," McCain said on CNN's New Day. "People have been too traumatized by it. There's too much damage."

McCain said that despite partisan gridlock, lawmakers will not bring the government to the brink again because they care too much about public approval. "Everybody suffered in this thing," he said. "One thing that politicians want, it's approval. The American people spoke loud and clear. They disapprove of what we're doing." McCain added that a budget is unlikely, despite his confidence that the government will not shut down again.

"I think we could reach probably a short-term agreement. What I mean as short term, a smaller agreement than the, quote, grand bargain," he said. "We're not going to shut down the government again. I guarantee it."

Squeaker Of A Mouse: House Republicans LOVE Boehner But WON'T Follow Him

House Republicans refuse to let their supposed leader, Speaker John Boehner, steer them toward big policy decisions, leaving him to endure repeated public embarrassments. Yet they rally around Boehner as much as ever, affirming his hold on the speakership Wednesday even as they choked down a Democratic-crafted bill to reopen the government, lift the debt ceiling and give Republicans only a few small concessions. "He's done a good job keeping us together," said Rep. Richard Hudson, R-N.C. "I think his stock has risen tremendously, and certainly he has great security as our leader and our speaker," said Rep. John Fleming, R-La. Imagine the praise from Republicans who voted in favor of the bill, which Boehner described as the best deal he could get under the constraints his colleagues handed him. Hudson and Fleming were among the 144 House Republicans who voted "no," forcing their leader once again to pass a high-profile measure that most GOP members opposed. Eighty-seven Republicans voted for it, joining all the Democrats in the chamber.

Hudson and Fleming also are among the House's dozens of tea party-backed Republicans, whose disdain of compromise has vastly complicated the speaker's job. Even before Wednesday, House Republicans' habit of praising but not heeding Boehner reflected the tea party's devotion to putting principle above deal-making. Boehner is a seasoned legislator. He constantly seeks 218 votes needed to pass House bills and scraps for the best bargains he can cut with Senate Democrats and President Barack Obama. Ho-hum, say many rank-and-file Republicans. While polls show Americans chiefly blame Republicans for the debt-and-shutdown gridlock — and GOP Sen. John McCain declared "we have lost this battle" — many of them seemed satisfied with the stand they made. That philosophy surely would have baffled many predecessors in Congress.

"The dynamics got much better," Fleming said, when Boehner "quit going to the White House to negotiate and he began to listen to us, to what we thought would work." Fleming called the debt and spending outcome an acceptable "stalemate." Democrats weren't able to reduce the "sequester" spending cuts they oppose, he said, and Republicans failed to delay or defund Obama's health care overhaul. Republicans "lost the battle, but we're going to win the war," Rep. Tim Huelskamp, R-Kan., said of plans to keep attacking "Obamacare." In January, Huelskamp voted to dump Boehner as speaker. But he joined in Wednesday's standing ovation for Boehner in a closed-door caucus gathering. "This is probably the best example of him following the 200 folks in our caucus who are conservative and are worried about Obamacare," Huelskamp said after the meeting. Boehner said in a subdued statement, "Our drive to stop the train wreck that is the president's health care law will continue."

Boehner lost control of the debt-and-shutdown debate weeks ago, when tea party-backed Sen. Ted Cruz of Texas launched a national drive to close much of the government if Democrats didn't agree to "defund Obamacare." Senior Republicans called the mission hopeless. Boehner urged his colleagues to focus on the debt ceiling instead. The threat of government default, he said, would give them greater leverage to demand spending cuts from Democrats. It's the same advice Boehner gave in January at a widely praised House GOP retreat in Williamsburg, Va. Republicans, he said then, must decide "where's the ground that we fight on? Where's the ground that we retreat on?" Whatever progress Boehner made in Virginia was apparently lost this month, when scores of House Republicans joined Cruz's ultimately doomed crusade.

Ted Cruz Is The MOST DANGEROUS MAN IN AMERICA

"..Obviously, comparing any modern politician to Hitler, a man who killed millions, is ridiculous. But it still happens. So, utilizing the the tactics of the Tea Party, here is an ALARMIST and SARCASTIC graphic to hit you in the gut and scare the crap out of you.."

~snip~

Members of the Tea Party Caucus are a number of things: whackjobs, fanatics, blindingly white, etc. One thing they aren’t is very intellectually rigorous. In fact, they often rail against the over-educated. Ted Cruz is different. He is scary smart. After attending Princeton University, he went on to Harvard University Law School where Alan Dershowitz says Cruz was “off the charts brilliant.” Cruz was also such an elitist that he refused to study with anyone outside of Harvard, Yale and Princeton Graduates. Apparently, he has changed course, because he is BFFs with a cadre of folks he wouldn’t have touched with a 20-foot pole at Harvard. I don’t know if you have ever met a really smart person who is hanging out with people he considers idiots, but in my experience it’s because he can play them like fiddles. See: Jim Jones, Charlie Manson, David Koresh. Cruz is the puppeteer behind this “David Fincher directs the Muppets” show, and in my opinion, the most dangerous man in America.

Cruz’s army includes Steve King, Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman, Mike Lee and every other wide-eyed idiot you hear stammering away on Fox News. They receive funding from Peter Thiel, the Koch Brothers and every other millionaire who would rather spend billions on making sure their taxes don’t rise than supporting programs that feed poor people. They poll-test talking points and then repeat them over and over again when speaking to reporters with absolutely no interest in having a conversation or addressing the actual issue presented by the questioner. These are politicians who actually believe that Obama is an Islamist Kenyan hellbent on destroying the United States. They think he’s an immigrant who wants to tear down American values brick by brick with the sickle and hammer of communism. They call him Hitler, but never really try to flesh out that argument.

Well, I’m going to tell you how Ted Cruz is actually like Adolf Hitler (but not really), and how he represents the potential for fascism in the United States. Every time I see Rafael Edward “Ted” Cruz on television, I am overcome with the sense that he spends all his free time in the hidden room in his basement torturing the vagrants he keeps locked up down there with a cattle prod. He is a doughy, sunken-eyed alsoran, with a chip on his shoulder and undiagnosed sociopathy pulsing through his brilliant mind. He’s an unattractive, brilliant and deranged narcissist who plays on the fear of the people to gain power and influence using an army of uneducated, but incredibly loud imbeciles to do his dirty work. Visually, Ted Cruz brings to mind Hitler because they are both schlubby, mousy haired everymen, with the general bearing of Lord Voldemort. But there are more similarities than a lack of physical creepiness, there are also similarities in their biographies, viewpoints and paranoias.

Up until recently, the Tea Party has been relatively rudderless. Because it was run by nitwits, there was not much reason to believe that they had the potential to grow into a significant threat to American Democracy. With Cruz at the helm, the situation is significantly altered. Cruz is a brilliant speaker, thinker and strategist. He is a sociopath and narcissist whose highly tuned lack of empathy will allow him to act with a destructive capacity that most humans lack. He will be able prey on those less intellectual than him and has already worked a sizable chunk of the population into a paranoid and vicious rage.

The Far Right PSYCHOPATH Machine

Ted Cruz and the coming 'AntChrist'................

The problem with the tea party, slobbering devotion to Ayn Rand, libertarians, and those who support them is this tendency to lose one’s soul in the process. In order to accept what is offered, to join their little club, a person must set aside compassion, honor, decency, and if they are a Christian, turn their back on the teachings of Christ. It is an ideology based on the selfish. The only person who counts is the great I AM. Nothing else matters but the will of the the one who wants what he/she wants. It is all about achieving that goal, no matter what it costs. One of the more humorous aspects of all of this is the fact that the far right, who are doing what they are doing, to protect the country and save money have cost, so far, about $700 billion. They have also cost the country nearly a million jobs. Yes, they are that stupid. Then again, no one ever said libertarians were very bright or have much wisdom. Want proof, this last stupidity has cost about $25 billion and 0.6% of nation’s GDP.

Ted Cruz is a textbook psychopath. He doesn’t care about anyone or anything, only his agenda. He is not above using something that harms people for his own benefit. He’s raising tens of thousands of dollars while tens of thousands of Americans suffer. When questioned about the ACA, Marsha Blackburn (R-ALEC) basically admitted she cared more about destroying it, than she did about America. She reflects the attitude of most Republicans in the House and Senate. They don’t care about the country, only their agenda. Like Patrick J. Buchanan said, it is better to destroy the country than submit to Obamacare.
A psychopath is someone who is only interested in himself/herself. Yep, that’s Ayn Rand. Her vision of America nearly came true this week.

“..Rand was a Russian from a prosperous family who emigrated to the United States. Through her novels (such as Atlas Shrugged) and her nonfiction (such as The Virtue of Selfishness) she explained a philosophy she called Objectivism. This holds that the only moral course is pure self-interest. We owe nothing, she insists, to anyone, even to members of our own families. She described the poor and weak as “refuse” and “parasites”, and excoriated anyone seeking to assist them …
Atlas Shrugged, published in 1957, depicts a United States crippled by government intervention in which heroic millionaires struggle against a nation of spongers. The millionaires, whom she portrays as Atlas holding the world aloft, withdraw their labour, with the result that the nation collapses. It is rescued, through unregulated greed and selfishness, by one of the heroic plutocrats, John Galt …
Rand’s is the philosophy of the psychopath, a misanthropic fantasy of cruelty, revenge and greed … Ignoring Rand’s evangelical atheism, the Tea Party movement has taken her to its heart. No rally of theirs is complete without placards reading “Who is John Galt?” and “Rand was right” …”

http://larspsyll.wordpress.com/2012/09/04/ayn-rands-objectivism-philosophy-for-psychopaths/

The is a check-list for a psychopathy or a psychopath. Have at it. Let’s see how many of these qualities Ted Cruz has.

OR….

Superficial charm and good “intelligence”
Absence of delusions and other signs of irrational thinking
Absence of “nervousness” or psychoneurotic manifestations
Unreliability
Untruthfulness and insincerity
Lack of remorse and shame
Inadequately motivated antisocial behavior
Poor judgment and failure to learn by experience
Pathologic egocentricity and incapacity for love
General poverty in major affective reactions

Unresponsiveness in general interpersonal relations
Fantastic and uninviting behavior with drink and sometimes without
Suicide threats rarely carried out
Sex life impersonal, trivial, and poorly integrated
Failure to follow any life plan.

Many politicians are psychopaths. And, yes, I think Ted Cruz is one. If nothing else, he has a narcissistic personality disorder. We’re now left cleaning up the mess. And, no, this was not intended as a cheap shot. I don’t like the man. I think he is disturbed and disturbing. He has the ability to wrongly influence people. When you are in power, are a psychopath, and have that ability, people should be afraid, be very afraid.

In ARROGANT BREACH OF PROTOCOL Ted Cruz "VIDEO BOMBS" Mitch McConnell's Big Speech.

In what is roundly being taken as a significant breach of protocol, and downright rude, GOP Tea Party Senator, and father of the Republican government shutdown and imminent debt default, Ted Cruz, decided to hold a press conference at the same time that Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell was announcing, and commenting on, the deals of the just-announced budget deal.

The split screen was on CNN from the first second McConnell started speaking, and at the 8th second CNN dropped McConnell entirely and switched their cameras to Cruz.

http://americablog.com/2013/10/gops-ted-cruz-interrupts-news-coverage-mcconnell-big-speech-speech-video.html

Oh snap! Even in a town as jaded as Washington, this shocked the beltway veterans.

Oh I think that this is going to bite Cruz in the ass big time!

Even though McConnell is in for a big fight to retain his seat I cannot see him letting this slide.

God I love the sound of Republican on Republican eye gouging and hair pulling in the morning.

ANARCHY In CONGRESS: John Boehner Is NO James Madison

Boner has a 'cheese gavel'.......

Worry about our national credit, the economic consequence of default and the economy, to be sure. But the long-term danger of Washington shenanigans is an erosion in the ability of our legislative branch to do what it's supposed to do. We are a beacon of liberty around the world not because of our executive branch, but because our legislative bodies independently limit the power of the president and act on their own practical ideas. If we lose that, we lose all.

The Tea Party capture of the House of Representatives is the triumph of a danger that the Founders warned about; The ability of a "faction" to seize control of the Congress and stop the government in its tracks. James Madison, in Federalist 51, uncannily described what the Tea Party has done to House Republicans and Speaker John Boehner: "In a society under the forms of which the stronger faction can readily unite and oppress the weaker, anarchy may as truly be said to reign." Anarchy reigns in the House of Representatives. The anarchists are, perversely, well organized and chock full of ideas. The Tea Party seems to be about policies and ideology. The core of its beliefs involve liberty, austerity and reversing the growing dependency on government program, and other ideas, all of which deserve thoughtful debate. What it has turned into is a faction committed to stopping the Congress from functioning unless those ideas are adopted by everyone. The result is anarchy, as Madison predicted.

Madison also talked about preventing anarchy. The Constitution had the tools necessary to prevent legislative anarchy. "If a faction consists of less than a majority, relief is supplied by the republican principle, which enables the majority to defeat its sinister views by regular vote." Aha. We cure the danger of factional anarchy by resort to the "republican principle" a vote. Quite right. The flaw in Madison's logic was the assumption that a vote would occur. It turns out that the decision to call an actual vote in the House of representatives is in hands of one man, Speaker John Boehner. If he, at any time, brings to a vote any proposal, Tea Party, Obama, Reid-McConnell or other, than the "republican" principle would cure the drift toward anarchy. If he doesn't, than we have, well, what we now have.

The defense offered by Boehner apologists are weak at best. If he's chased out of the Speakership, his successor would be worse. Or, he has a duty to the Members who elected him, all Republicans. Or, he'll do the right thing at the last minute. Not good enough. John Boehner seems to be a nice enough man. But he should have embraced Madison's advice from the get-go and publicly committed to a vote, even if he delayed it to the last minute. He could have covered himself in a constitutional mantle, and defended himself in the name of democracy and the common good. What ever anger erupted from the extreme right would have been more easily understood as an attack on American democracy and protected the rest of the Republican Members. He did none of that and weakened our democracy as a result.

Sen. McConnell REMARKS On Deal To End The Shutdown And Raise The Debt Ceiling

As provided by his office, here are the comments of Sen. Minority Leader Mitch McConnell on the on the deal to re-open the government and lift the debt ceiling. Read more on the deal.

“This has been a long challenging few weeks for Congress and for the country.

“It’s my hope that today we can put some of the most urgent issues behind us

“After yesterday’s events, the Majority Leader and I began a series of conversations about a way to get the government re-opened and prevent default.

“I’m confident we’ll be able to begin to do both those things later today.

“Crucially, I’m also confident that we’ll be able to announce that we’re protecting the government spending reductions that both parties agreed to under the Budget Control Act, and that the President signed into law.

“That’s been a top priority for me and my Republican colleagues throughout this debate. And it’s been worth the effort.

“Some have suggested that we break that promise as part of this agreement. They’ve said Washington needs to spend more, that we need to raise taxes — that we can just tax our way to prosperity and balance.

“But what the BCA showed is that Washington can cut spending. And because of this law, that’s just what we’ve done. For the first time since the Korean War, government spending has declined for two years in a row. That’s the first time in 50 years.

“And we’re not going back on this agreement.

“There is a lot more we need to do to get our nation’s fiscal house in order.

“Hopefully, once we’ve gotten past the drama of the moment we can get to work on it. But for now, let’s not understate the importance of the BCA, or the importance of the fight to preserve it.

“This legislation is the largest spending reduction bill of the last quarter century and the largest deficit reduction bill since 1981 that didn’t include a tax hike.

“Preserving this law is critically important.

“Throughout this debate, the public has been rightly focused on Obamacare — for good reason. This law is ravaging our economy, killing jobs, driving up premiums, and driving people off the health care plans they have and like, in droves. Its disastrous rollout is sign of even worse things to come. And the Democrat refusal to delay it reflects a stubborn ideological obsession that will do untold damage to our country. And Republicans remain determined to repeal this terrible law.

“But for today, the relief we hope for is to reopen the government, avoid default, and protect the historic cuts we achieved under the BCA. This is far less than many of us had hoped for. But it’s far better than what some had sought.

“Now it’s time for Republicans to unite behind our other crucial goals.”
