HAHAHA,Ooops! - Paul Ryan's SUPPORT For The STIMULUS

"...Paul Ryan Supported Economic Stimulus Under Bush: ‘You Have To Spend A Little To Grow A Little’.."

Republican hypocrite has entered the room...

GOP vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan spent much of the last week trying to explain why he signed multiple letters seeking $20 million in stimulus funds for an energy company in his district. Ryan is a staunch opponent of President Obama’s stimulus program, which those funds came from, claiming that stimulus is a “wasteful spending spree.”

As it turns out, Ryan’s stimulus hypocrisy extends back at least an entire decade. In 2002, Republican President George W. Bush proposed a similar — if less ambitious — stimulus plan to the one President Obama signed in 2009. Like Obama, Bush sought to goose the economy through an influx of public sector cash. His stimulus plan included an extension of unemployment benefits and a plan to mail checks directly to millions of Americans. Ryan took to the House floor to defend this plan, accurately noting that additional government spending would help move the economy out of a recession:

GOP teabagger Matt Shea’s Picture Backed By GOP’

GOP teabagger scumbag Matt Shea posted this photo of himself standing in his opponent’s driveway on his Facebook page.

This is the type of scumbag, and there is no other word that best describes Matt Shea’s actions, that the Spokane GOP teabaggers approve of. The teabagger Matt Shea posts a picture of himself in front of his opponents house AND gives the cross streets. And THEN says she’s only complaining because she trailed him by 20 points in the primary. Even the County Sheriff, a Republican, asked Shea to take it down and he won’t.

But let’s vote these Republicans in. And if we dare to disagree with them? Who knows what information about us they will post.

‘The chairman of the Spokane County Republican Party is standing behind state Rep. Matt Shea’s decision to post a picture of himself on the Internet standing on his Democratic challenger’s property despite public outcry that cuts across partisan lines’.

“This looks like a fabricated issue following a poor primary performance,” county GOP Chair Matthew Pederson said of complaints by state House hopeful Amy Biviano and others that Shea went too far with the photo, which was posted to the incumbent lawmaker’s Facebook page along with the location of a nearby intersection. Shea explained in the Facebook post that he had been door-belling the neighborhood, which was just added to the 4th Legislative District this year’.

‘There is disagreement, even among Republicans, over Shea’s refusal to remove the picture as Biviano has requested’.
‘Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich, for example, said Thursday that Shea should remove the photo’.

“Personally, I wish Matt would have taken it down,” said Knezovich, who has praised Biviano’s stands on domestic violence issues but insists he is remaining neutral in the race. “Matt has called law enforcement multiple times with concerns about his residence and his wife’s safety. Matt knows what it’s like to be in that public realm.”

‘Shea did not return calls seeking comment about the picture, but he did respond on his Facebook page to a posting about the photo on The Spokesman-Review’s Spin Control blog. Shea noted that in the primary, he beat Biviano by about 20 percentage points and accused the newspaper of “trying to rehabilitate a radical pro-choice socialist who just got trounced in the primary.”

Yeah, PAUL RYAN Is Also A DICK

HERE IS A DICK.

Paul Ryan better PRAY that his so-called ' bunch of friends ' don't speak up on a political commercial calling out Ryan on his lies. Hmm, hope the Dems are on top of this one.

As we saw a short while ago, Paul Ryan is retroactively blaming Pres. Barack Obama for a plant closing, in Ohio, in 2008.
http://www.dailykos.com/story/2012/08/17/1121306/-Paul-Ryan-blames-Obama-for-GM-plant-closed-in-2008-under-Bush
He's got this whole spiel about Obama's terrible energy policies and how they doomed the plant. I can't wait to see if he amends his criticism, since it would've been George W. Bush's energy policies that doomed the plant.

But an interesting side story has emerged from this episode. You see—while Obama had nothing to do with that plant, as a representative from Wisconsin, Ryan happened to represent the district that was home to that plant. In fact, he claimed today that a bunch of his friends happened to work at it.

So if he represents the home of that plant, and he's got friends who work there ... he fights to keep it open, right? Of course not.

In 2008, however, Ryan vowed not to request earmarks anymore; he later helped push through an outright ban. I asked [John Beckord, a Ryan supporter and the head of Forward Janesville,] whether Ryan’s libertarianism ever clashed with the needs of his constituents. He hesitated, then said, finally, "I suppose there could have been a full-court press to just cobble together as much federal money as possible on our behalf to make it irresistible for G.M. to keep this plant open."

http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2012/08/06/120806fa_fact_lizza#ixzz23ppoXZ82

In other words, Ryan did nothing to try and stop the closing of a major employer in his town, one that supposedly employed a bunch of his friends.

That's called being a dick.

The fact that he then tries to pin the blame on Obama just confirms that he's a big one.

Meet Paul Ryan: By AL GORE

Paul Ryan, Mitt Romney's new running mate, has a history of anti-climate science statements and votes, according to Brad Johnson:

Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Mitt Romney's vice-presidential pick, is a virulent denier of climate science, with a voting record to match.

A favorite of the Koch brothers, Ryan has accused scientists of engaging in conspiracy to "intentionally mislead the public on the issue of climate change." He has implied that snow invalidates global warming.

Ryan has voted to prevent the Environmental Protection Agency from limiting greenhouse pollution, to eliminate White House climate advisers, to block the U.S. Department of Agriculture from preparing for climate disasters like the drought devastating his home state, and to eliminate the Department of Energy Advanced Research Projects Agency (ARPA-E).

http://thinkprogress.org/climate/2012/08/11/677051/meet-paul-ryan-climate-denier-conspiracy-theorist-koch-acolyte/

He has also said there is "growing disagreement among scientists about climate change and its causes."

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/articles/2010/04/02/should_america_bid_farewell_to_exceptional_freedom.html

In addition to his opposition to meaningful action to reduce global warming pollution, Paul Ryan's budget called for "drastic cuts in federal spending on energy research and development and for the outright elimination of subsidies and tax breaks for wind, solar power and other alternative energy technologies."

http://green.blogs.nytimes.com/2011/04/06/clean-energy-is-a-target-of-ryan-budget-plan/

Solving the climate crisis requires political leadership that recognizes the serious reality of global warming and fights for policies that move us toward a clean energy economy, not backward.

How Paul Ryan Will SCREW YOU

This past weekend, Mitt Romney named Republican congressman Paul Ryan as his running mate, leading everyone to wonder: how will this asshole screw me, personally, if he is elected vice-president in November? Luckily for you, we have answers. No one knows how much power Paul Ryan would actually have as vice-president in a Romney administration. But let's assume for a second that Mitt Romney is only interested in choosing the music for his wife's horse dances, and as president lets Ryan run the show — in particular, signing off on Ryan's proposed budget, a supposedly Serious Piece of Legislation that is more or less the only reason he's on the ticket in the first place.

So, here's how Paul Ryan will screw you if you're...

... poor.

Under Ryan's budget, you'll likely pay more in taxes — people who make less than $30,000 a year will see their effective tax rates go up as tax breaks like the Earned Income Tax Credit are reduced — while receiving even less in services.

See, while you, as a member of the bottom 20% of wage earners, will be paying an average of $159 more in taxes, your boss' boss, a member of the top 20%, will probably be paying something like $13,907 less — meaning there's not nearly as much money for income-security programs like unemployment and food stamps (which will receive a 16% cut). Or for Medicaid, which Ryan would cut by a third (potentially kicking out 14 to 27 million people).

... a government worker.

Ryan's budget would extend the current freeze on federal worker pay rates, meaning you wouldn't get a raise until 2015 at the earliest. You'll also be asked to put more money into your retirement plan. Oh, also: one in ten of you will get laid off over the next three years.

... a veteran.

Hope you don't need much in the way of services! The Ryan budget cuts spending on veterans by $11 billion. Maybe you can get a job on Stars Earn Stripes?

... a woman.

Ryan voted against the Lily Ledbetter fair pay act, co-sponsored legislation declaring that "human life shall be deemed to begin with fertilization" and has voted to defund Planned Parenthood several times.

... a student.

If you're on a Pell Grant, you might lose it — eligibility will be tightened — and even if you don't, it'll be worth less: the Ryan budget wouldn't let the grants keep pace with inflation. And if you're on student loans, Ryan would double the interest rate you're paying, from 3.4 percent to 6.8.

... an old person.

Actually, if you're old right this minute, you're not necessarily screwed: the Ryan Budget's big Medicare overhaul doesn't affect current old people, just future old people. (In a weird coincidence, current old people vote at much higher rates than future old people.)

But if you're planning on being an old person? Instead of being enrolled in Medicare automatically, you'll be given a voucher that will likely cover some, but not all, of your health-care costs, and you'll end up paying about $6,000 more a year than you would have under the current system. The idea is that you'll be taking personal responsibility for your health, and make smarter choices, like dying early.

... Mitt Romney.

On the one hand, you're now tied to a budget plan that's deeply unpopular among moderates and seniors and your supporters like your running mate more than they like you.

On the other hand, under Ryan's plan your effective tax rate will be about one percent.

... Joe Biden.

You will probably have to try in this debate, at least a little bit.

... actor Zach Woods.

People will be telling you that you look just like Paul Ryan for at least the next three months, and possibly for the next eight-plus years.

... a single mom paying her way through college with wages from her low-income job, assisted by student loans and Pell Grants.

Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. Hahahaha. Hahaha. Sorry.

...rich.

He won't! You're set. Have fun.

Romney LOST the American JEWISH VOTE by Picking Paul Ryan

He forfeited any real chance of winning American Jewish voters
when he chose Ryan, says Peter Beinart.

Maybe Mitt Romney should have saved the airfare. Sure, July’s Israel trip helped him with his Jewish donors and perhaps with some Christian evangelicals. But if it bought him any good will among Jewish voters, he’s just given it back—and then some—by selecting Rep. Paul Ryan as his running mate.

To read the press, you’d think Israel drives the American Jewish vote. That’s a myth. An October 2008 poll by Steven M. Cohen, Sam Abrams, and Judith Veinstein found that only 15 percent of American Jews ranked Israel as one of their three top voting issues. This March, when the American Jewish Committee asked American Jews what most influences their presidential vote, only 6 percent answered “Israel,” with another 4 percent citing “Iran’s nuclear program.”

So what do American Jews vote on? The economy, of course. According to the AJC poll, it registered almost five times the number of first-place votes as did Israel. Second, with more than three times the number, was health care. Indeed, while among Americans as a whole health care has far less salience than does the economy, among Jews the margin between the two is smaller. One reason may be that Jews are simply older. As the University of Miami’s Ira Sheskin points out, 16 percent of American Jews are above the age of 65 compared to 13 percent of Americans as a whole. When it comes to health care, Jews are also big fans of government spending. According “Jewish Distinctiveness in America,” a detailed 2005 study for the AJC, Jews were more supportive than any other religious group of government health-care spending and more supportive than any ethnic or racial group except African-Americans.

Another driver of the Jewish vote is fear of the Christian right. Although the percentage of American Jews who cite abortion or separation of church and state as their top voting issue is low—a combined 7 percent, according to the AJC poll—those Jews who do care about cultural issues lean massively to the left. According to the 2005 “Jewish distinctiveness,” study, Jews are the most pro-choice ethnic or religious group in America, by far. Almost 80 percent of American Jews think it’s fine for a woman to have an abortion for any reason, which is close to twice the percentage for Americans as a whole. Jews are also the religious and ethnic group most supportive of giving birth control to teenagers and most hostile to school prayer. And this cultural liberalism produces deep hostility to the Christian right. According to a 2012 study by the Public Religion Research Institute, American Jews feel almost twice as sympathetic to American Muslims as they do toward the Christian right.

Did Paul Ryan CRIPPLE Grand Bargain To LIMIT Obama's REELECTION CHANCES?

WASHINGTON -- In its profile of newly minted, presumptive vice presidential nominee Paul Ryan Monday morning, The New York Times reported a new and potentially telling anecdote from the height of last summer's debate over raising the debate ceiling.Ryan, the paper said, urged his own party's leadership to scuttle a grand bargain with President Barack Obama, in part out of concern that a deal may result in a second term for Obama.

Mr. Ryan’s enormous influence was apparent last summer when Representative Eric Cantor, the second most powerful House Republican, told Mr. Obama during negotiations over an attempted bipartisan “grand bargain” that Mr. Ryan disliked its policy and was concerned that a deal would pave the way for Mr. Obama’s easy re-election, according to a Democrat and a Republican who were briefed on the conversation.

The Times went on to note that "an official in Mr. Cantor’s office disputed the characterization, and a spokesman for House Speaker John A. Boehner, who was also there, said he 'has no recollection of such a discussion.'"

So, who's right?

The answer, according to two Republican sources who witnessed the debt ceiling negotiations, is somewhere in the middle. Ryan, they acknowledged, did raise concerns about the political fallout of Obama and Boehner reaching a bargain that would see $800 billion to $1 trillion in revenues exchanged for spending cuts and changes to Social Security and Medicare. But that was the least pressing of Ryan's three main concerns.

"Boehner was negotiating with Obama. Ryan had gone to Cantor and to Boehner saying he doesn't support the policy, he doesn't think it could be sold to the conference, and, three, he thought it would guarantee the [president's] reelection," said a GOP aide who spoke anonymously in order to discuss private deliberations.

Obama Masterfully TIES PAUL RYAN to the MOST UNPOPULAR House in History

President Obama showed Mitt Romney why choosing Paul Ryan was a big mistake, by immediately linking Ryan to the most unpopular House of Representatives in American history.

The president spoke about the drought and tied Paul Ryan to the unpopular House.

Obama said,

Right now folks here in Iowa and across the heartland are suffering from one of the worst droughts in 50 years. Farmers and ranchers depend on a good crop season to pay the bills and put a roof over their heads, and I know that things are tough right now.

The best way to help these states is for leaders in Congress to pass a farm bill that not only helps farmers and ranchers respond to natural disasters, but also makes necessary reforms and gives them some long-term certainty. But right now, too many members of Congress are blocking that bill from becoming law. Now, I’m told Governor Romney’s new running mate might be around Iowa these next few days. And he’s one of those leaders of Congress standing in the way. So if you happen to see Congressman Ryan, tell him how important this farm bill is to Iowa and our rural communities. It’s time to put politics aside and pass it right away.

But the folks suffering from this drought can’t wait for Congress to do its job. So in the meantime, I’ve made sure my Administration is doing everything we can to provide relief to those who need it. Last week, we announced $30 million to help farmers and ranchers, get more water to livestock, and rehabilitate land affected by the drought. Today, we’re announcing that the federal government will help livestock producers by purchasing over $150 million worth of meat and fish now, while prices are low, and freeze it for later. We’ve got a lot of freezers. (Laughter).

One thing that few people have discussed is that Mitt Romney is now directly married to a House of Representatives with a 16% approval rating. Obama was correct. Ryan is one of the Republicans in the House blocking the farm bill. More importantly, Obama called Ryan the intellectual leader of the House. The message is Paul Ryan is the brain behind a House that many Americans view as broken and dysfunctional.

People who are claiming that the president went after Ryan on the farm bill are missing the point. President Obama tied Paul Ryan and the rich guy running for president with him to the House of Representatives. Romney already had a problem with the House because of the looming fight over the Bush tax cuts, but from here on out, Romney is going to be tied to every unpopular move that the Republican House makes.
