About Me

My namesake... http://youtu.be/GgXzWhexJh0 ... If I were asked to recommend only one political / history book it would be this one... http://www.amazon.com/Treason-America-Anton-Chaitkin/dp/0943235006 ... Treason in America: from Aaron Burr to Averell Harriman, by Anton Chaitkin. I do NOT endorse all of the views by Chaitkin external to this book, nor all of his actions, nor all of his associations, but I DO highly recommend this book. It is one every US citizen and everyone interested in its history should read. It it well written, meticulously sourced, and it is eye-opening -- even for those who consider themselves already knowledgeable. If you have not read it before, you need to read it, it is need-to-know information, and what it has to say is not going to be found in many places, if anywhere, else. That is my tip for whoever is passing by.

YES! YES, YOU CAN! ... "Can I say that I thought the alerter was ruder than I was? Hurtful, too."

That's exactly what I was thinking, while reading this. This alert was outrageous. Don't take it personally catrose, there are obviously some people on here who have a twisted agenda of their own. The only "fault" that I can see is that you could've been clearer, but as it was, your post presented the opportunity for the "offended" person to COMMENT and ask what you meant. Discussion is what this board is for, not CRITIQUING.

In the end though, hiding perfectly good posts is rather toothless, because the posts are still there to be read anyway - which I for one do very often because 1) I already know that these alert-freaks have no sense, so their opinion matters not to me; and 2) I'm not worried that I'll read something that might rock my little world so much that it might actually make me gasp out loud and pop a heart pill (I would've said 'clutch my pearls' but as we know, some people can't handle such language). It really annoys me that other peoples' thoughts are this little clique's toy-of-the-moment. But whatever. This too shall pass.

One point: the alerters ought to reserve hitting the button for those more rare posts which really are seriously offensive, because otherwise, they might go the way of "the boy who cried wolf" once too often.
