Anthony Weiner's behavior is not just a family issue.

When he decided to run for office, it became wider problem

The man is trolling interweb chat rooms to find women to fulfill this urge of his. He has no idea who he is chatting with. What if he engages an under-age girl? That's okay?

Carlos Danger: Anthony Weiner Confirms Authenticity Of New Sex Chats

New York City mayoral candidate Anthony Weiner confirmed the authenticity of new lewd, sexually charged online chats that were posted by a nightlife website over the past day.
Nightlife site "The Dirty" posted images of conversations that allegedly came from Weiner to a 22-year-old woman under the pseudonym "Carlos Danger."

“I said that other texts and photos were likely to come out, and today they have," Weiner said in a statement released by his campaign Tuesday afternoon.

"As I have said in the past, these things that I did were wrong and hurtful to my wife and caused us to go through challenges in our marriage that extended past my resignation from Congress. While some things that have been posted today are true and some are not, there is no question that what I did was wrong. This behavior is behind me. I've apologized to Huma and am grateful that she has worked through these issues with me and for her forgiveness. I want to again say that I am very sorry to anyone who was on the receiving end of these messages and the disruption that this has caused. As my wife and I have said, we are focused on moving forward.”

Weiner's statement does not address the crucial question of the timeline of when they occurred, and whether or not they came after his fall and resignation from Congress in 2011 amid the initial scandal. He did note, however, that the challenges in his marriage "extended past my resignation from Congress."

The chats are not dated. The Dirty's source says that she carried on an online relationship with Weiner until August 2012 — which would be well after his resignation in June 2011.

Pakistan Battles Polio,& Its People’s Mistrust After CIA Fake Vaccination Plan Used To Find OBL

KARACHI, Pakistan — Usman, who limps on a leg bowed by the polio he caught as a child, made sure that his first three children were protected from the disease, but he turned away vaccinators when his youngest was born.

He was furious that the Central Intelligence Agency, in its hunt for Osama bin Laden, had staged a fake vaccination campaign, and infuriated by American drone strikes, one of which, he said, had struck the son of a man he knew, blowing off his head. He had come to see the war on polio, the longest, most expensive disease eradication effort in history, as a Western plot.

In January, his 2-year-old son, Musharaf, became the first child worldwide to be crippled by polio this year.

“I know now I made a mistake,” said Usman, 32, who, like many in his Pashtun tribe, uses only one name. “But you Americans have caused pain in my community. Americans pay for the polio campaign, and that’s good. But you abused a humanitarian mission for a military purpose.”

The Last Push in Eliminating Polio The disease continues to appear in Pakistan, where vaccination efforts are often met with suspicion and hostility.

Anger like his over American foreign policy has led to a disastrous setback for the global effort against polio. In December, nine vaccinators were shot dead here, and two Taliban commanders banned vaccination in their areas, saying the vaccinations could resume only if drone strikes ended. In January, 10 vaccinators were killed in Nigeria’s Muslim-dominated north.

Firefighter resuscitates kitteh (seen through his helmet cam)

Firefighter Cory Kalanick always has his helmet cam on during fire calls, and so do many of his colleagues. In the case of a house fire in Fresno a few weeks ago, the video recorded the rescue of a kitten overcome by smoke.

“I looked down and you can actually see the cat shining in the spotlight of my flashlight. And I looked back and that's when I saw the cat and grabbed him,” said Cory Kalanick, the firefighter who found the kitten.

The kitten was limp as Kalanick picked it up and took it outside. He grabbed a mask and an oxygen tank, setting the kitten on his glove to protect it from the hot asphalt. After pouring water on him and using an entire tank of oxygen, within 15 minutes, Kalanick massaged life back into the tiny animal. He affectionally nicknamed "Lucky the Cat."

China deploys elite gaggle of geese police

“Among all poultry, geese [are known] for being extremely vigilant and having excellent hearing,” Zhang Quansheng, a police chief in Xinjiang’s Shawan county, told the newspaper.

The People’s Daily said the “sharp, keen and brave” animals were proving an invaluable tool in Xinjiang’s war on crime and were now being “actively promoted” across the region.

Law enforcement agents described the geese as a new “highlight of stability maintenance work” and said they had proved themselves “better than dogs” in tackling crime.

“Geese are very brave. They spread their wings and will attack any strangers entering [someone’s] home,” said Mr Zhang, the local police chief.

The birds were like “a radar that does not need power”, he added.

"Through Enemy Lines":THE SPY WHO LOVED The Secrets and Lives of Christine Granville

Christine Granville was one of the bravest, toughest and strangest secret agents of World War II. Her feats of derring-do included acting as a courier in Nazi-occupied Europe, parachuting into France in support of the Allied invasion and rescuing three of her comrades from certain execution. She was said to be Winston Churchill’s favorite spy — a considerable accolade given how much Britain’s wartime prime minister liked spies. She may have been the model for Vesper Lynd, the female agent in Ian Fleming’s first James Bond novel, “Casino Royale.” She won medals for bravery from both Britain and France. Men found her irresistible, and she did very little to resist them.

Yet this woman, so ripe for Hollywood hagiography, is almost unknown today. Her obscurity is the consequence of her gender (spy history is notoriously sexist), her nationality (she was Polish, and Communist Poland did not encourage praise of British spies) and above all her character. She was a complex and mysterious individual. She survived the war only to be murdered by an obsessed former lover in the lobby of a London hotel. As Clare Mulley reveals in her admirable and overdue biography, “The Spy Who Loved,” Granville was not a straightforward personality, and all the more fascinating for that.

Born Maria Krystyna Janina Skarbek, the daughter of a feckless Polish aristocrat and a wealthy Jewish heiress, she enjoyed a comfortable, uneventful and spoiled upbringing. Indeed, her main achievement before the war was to be a runner-up in the 1930 Miss Poland beauty contest. War changed her utterly.

She was in South Africa, the wife of a Polish diplomat, when the Germans invaded Poland in September 1939. She immediately headed for London, presented herself to the British secret service and offered to ski over the Carpathian Mountains into Poland in order to take British propaganda into Nazi-occupied Warsaw. “She is absolutely fearless,” a secret service report noted, a “flaming Polish patriot, . . . expert skier and great adventuress."

Another book to read!
There are so many interesting people we never hear about. Their lives make fiction pale in comparison. There were many women in WWII who risked their lives and spied.
