Mike 03
Mike 03's JournalIMO it is vital that the EU have greater unification and become a true regional power.
I have no clue why we'd dare to obstruct this. Russia and China are taking advantage of confusion in Western democracies--US and Europe--due to vacuums and uncertainties and foreign meddling.
We need moral leadership in the US but also in the EU to tackle global warming and the perilous rise in anti-democratic movements. We need to get on the same page. And I hope the EU can snuff out the dangerous rise in populism evidenced in Hungary and Poland, and have some recourse when faced with illiberal, fascist demagogues like Matteo Salvini in Italy.
Much depends on this.
Yes. The Christian Nationalists got almost everything on their wish list so
far as the courts are concerned.
Now it's much easier for them to push through the rest of their agenda, which depends largely on the courts and less on actual legislation, although they will continue to put pressure on Republicans. IMO Republicans are as afraid of the Christian Nationalists, if not more so, as they are of a mean tweet from Trump.
(I learned this from Katherine Stewart's amazing book The Power Worshippers)
Here's an even scarier one, and it's literally called The Base (Al Qaeda means The Base)
https://soundslikehate.org/images/assets/sounds-like-hate-baseless-part-1-transcript.pdfCongresswoman Jackie Speier: The Base is an accelerationist, paganistic, anarchic group.
Speaker 70: All right. Well, Im out here in Oregon. Uhm, with everything that was going on in
politics and just, you know, the disappearance of whites around the world has really got me going.
Rinaldo Nazzaro: Yeah. Are you uhm... Well whats your ethnicity?
Speaker 70: Im white. I am part Norwegian, part Sweden, and German.
Congresswoman Jackie Speier: They hate Jews and African-Americans. Their goal is to use
terrorism to start a race war and collapse the United States. Triggering societal collapse may be a sick
fantasy, but the reality is that domestic terror has claimed more lives than international terror since
9/11.
Rinaldo Nazzaro: Uhm, alright, so youve been a national socialist for three years you said. What
were you before that?
Speaker 70: Uhm, I was Republican.
Congresswoman Jackie Speier: They arent your parents neo-nazis.
Ecologist: Well, a lot of our guys, we have just a pure hatred for the modern civilization and
industrialization. We wish to liberate ourselves, our fellow whites, and animals from that system.
Rinaldo Nazzaro: How does that work?
Ecologist: Through economic sabotage, such as bombings, arson... uhm.
Rinaldo Nazzaro: Woah, woah, woah woah. Okay. Alright. Slow down there a little bit.
Nothing to see here. He's just another president with a quirk or two.
It's not like he's a full-blown psychopathic fascist dictator with drug abuse issues and severe cognitive decline working on Russia's behalf to destroy the country.
Two paragraphs from the article:
There is no evidence that the Russians have changed any vote tallies or voter registration information, officials said. They added that the Russian-backed hackers had penetrated the computer networks without taking further action, as they did in 2016. But American officials expect that if the presidential race is not called on election night, Russian groups could use their knowledge of the local computer systems to deface websites, release nonpublic information or take similar steps that could sow chaos and doubts about the integrity of the results, according to American officials briefed on the intelligence.
In 2016 Russia's cyber attack teams laid the groundwork for some election interference that they never implemented. Some of that information, according to Peter Strzok, is still classified.
He's trying to make the argument that he has the "right" enemies,
the same enemies the idiots in his audience have. The problem with this approach is that almost everyone is his enemy, which just makes him look like a pathological paranoiac.
For example, the "wrong" enemies:
The United Kingdom
Canada
France
Germany
Australia
All of Europe minus Hungary and Poland
All our NATO allies
They hate his guts too, and rightly so. Now, that's embarrassing.
LOL. Remember when Don Jr. tried to get out ahead of the Trump Tower
meeting story by releasing all those incriminating emails that showed he colluded with Russia?
That's how the Trumps "get out ahead" of damaging stories.
This is organized and it's scary.
I'm reading a book right now entitled The Power Worshippers: Inside the Dangerous Rise of Religious Nationalism by Katherine Stewart. She traces this development and does a deep dive on the individuals and organizations behind it. Those words he's using in that fourth paragraph are almost verbatim from the handouts they are giving politicians they are enlisting into this effort. This particular person sounds like maybe he's been inculcated by Capitol Ministries.
I'll show him the compassion he showed Kurt Cobain.
Back at ya, Rush!
Definitely. Any Republicans denouncing Trump after the Impeachment hearing
was too late. Labor Day was too late. Columbus Day is too late.
In fact, this goes way back. Peter Strzok points out how early the DOJ was contaminated by spinelessness and apologists. I'm worried people will forget about what a simpering weasel Rod Rosenstein was, because at first glance he's nowhere near as bad as Bill Barr. I expect Rosenstein to write a book proclaiming his blamelessness. Hokum.
