How much would you have paid for an hour with Ivanka?

An auction offering the highest bidder “30-45 minutes” of time to meet with Ivanka Trump was cancelled Friday after it came under scrutiny.

According to a report by the New York Times, the fundraiser was cancelled after questions were raised by ethics experts about the special access to the incoming first family it appeared to offer bidders.

Earlier Friday, the Times reported that many of those who had placed bids on the auction wanted access to Ivanka Trump in order to communicate with her father's incoming administration. The charity fundraising page was taken down without explanation later the same day.

The fundraiser said the money raised would go to the Eric Trump Foundation to benefit St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. According to the Times' report, bidding reached $77,888 before the page was removed.

Can you imagine not hugging your kid?

One of the most chilling accounts of Donald Trump came in the August, 2016 "Fresh Air" interview with Trump biographer Michael Kranish. In that hour, he revealed that Trump's father, Fred, never hugged his kids, never told them they loved them, only showed warmth when they achieved something and called his eldest son a "failure" when he chose not to participate in the family business. What's worse for all of us, Kranish said that Donald was "deeply scarred" when he was sent to military school. I know we all don't have great parents and many become wonderful adults despite that. But Trump isn't one of them and a wounded child is about to become the most powerful man in the world. And I fear he's going to pass on the abuse to the plurality of the country that didn't vote for him in November.
