RandySF's JournalRep. John Delaney (D-MD) Annonces for President
The American people are far greater than the sum of our political parties. It is time for us to rise above our broken politics and renew the spirit that enabled us to achieve the seemingly impossible. This is why I am running for the Democratic nomination for president of the United States.
Our government is hamstrung by excessive partisanship. We are letting critical opportunities to improve the country pass us by. And we are not even talking about the most important thing: the future. The victims of this leadership failure are the good people we are sworn to serve, and we are leaving our country ill-prepared for dramatic changes ahead. The current administration is making us less prosperous and less secure. Im running because I have an original approach to governing and economic policy that can put us on a different course.

For those represented by Dems, this cheer is for you
Sorry for lack of elequance. I'm on a bus typing into my phone.
As far as I can tell, not one Dem in Congress (not even Manchin) voted to repeal the ACA because you made it loud and that you were watching and there would be no free pass on this one no matter how purple their states or districts are. And that was just as important as flipping any Republican.
McCain: Skinny Repeal wasn't cruel enough
Washington, D.C. U.S. Senator John McCain (R-AZ) released the following statement today on voting no on the so-called skinny repeal of Obamacare:
From the beginning, I have believed that Obamacare should be repealed and replaced with a solution that increases competition, lowers costs, and improves care for the American people. The so-called skinny repeal amendment the Senate voted on today would not accomplish those goals. While the amendment would have repealed some of Obamacares most burdensome regulations, it offered no replacement to actually reform our health care system and deliver affordable, quality health care to our citizens. The Speaker's statement that the House would be willing to go to conference does not ease my concern that this shell of a bill could be taken up and passed at any time.
Ive stated time and time again that one of the major failures of Obamacare was that it was rammed through Congress by Democrats on a strict-party line basis without a single Republican vote. We should not make the mistakes of the past that has led to Obamacares collapse, including in my home state of Arizona where premiums are skyrocketing and health care providers are fleeing the marketplace. We must now return to the correct way of legislating and send the bill back to committee, hold hearings, receive input from both sides of aisle, heed the recommendations of nations governors, and produce a bill that finally delivers affordable health care for the American people. We must do the hard work our citizens expect of us and deserve.

Dean Heller is tonight's biggest loser.
He flipped to yes and it failed anyway. He's done.
Capito has made a decision, but won't announce it until after the vote.

Says she won't rule out voting for the "skinny bill". Looks like the threats against Alaska worked.
