Former Miss Universe sizes up Melania Trump: 'I think I speak more English'

Alicia Machado, the former Miss Universe who vaulted into the political spotlight Monday night as the latest example of Donald Trump’s derogatory remarks about women, said the GOP nominee’s wife, Melania, is “a decoration” with limited English-speaking skills.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan magazine published Tuesday, Machado drew a clear line between her own immigration story and that of Melania Trump. Both women are former models, but Machado attacked Melania Trump for failing to do more to help those around her as the wife of a prominent political figure.

“I think I speak more English than her,” Machado said. “I don’t see anything about this girl. She’s a doll. She’s a decoration. That is how I see her.”

Donald Trump was harshly critical of Machado during her tenure as Miss Universe, calling her Miss Piggy and Miss Housekeeping, the latter a reference to her Hispanic heritage. Machado told Cosmopolitan that those remarks triggered a relapse of her bulimia that took several years to escape.

Machado, who was also crowned Miss Venezuela, became an American citizen in August, something she told Cosmopolitan she did specifically to vote against Trump.

Giuliani Says Affair Proves Clinton Is ‘Too Stupid"

Rudy Giuliani said that Hillary Clinton’s decision to stand by her husband after news of his extramarital affair broke in 1998 proves that the former secretary of state is “too stupid to be president,” Politico reports.

Said Giuliani: “The president of the United States, her husband, disgraced this country with what he did in the Oval Office and she didn’t just stand by him, she attacked Monica Lewinsky. And after being married to Bill Clinton for 20 years, if you didn’t know the moment Monica Lewinsky said that Bill Clinton violated her that she was telling the truth, then you’re too stupid to be president.”

Pence charter pilot fired, facing assault charges

A pilot who ferried GOP vice presidential nominee Mike Pence, his family, staff, secret service contingent and traveling press has been fired following revelations that he faces criminal charges for intentionally hitting a man with his car.

The pilot, Vincent Caldara, is a former police officer and chairman of Trump's Florida Law Enforcement Coalition. The news of Caldara’s criminal charges was first reported by The Guardian in an article on potential criminal activities of some of those in law enforcement supporting Trump.

“I’m a very strong Trump supporter, I’m a retired law enforcement officer, and I’m currently on Governor Mike Pence’s flight operations team as one of his pilots during the campaign,” Caldara told a crowd at the opening of a Trump campaign office in Brevard County in early September. “Donald Trump and Governor Mike Pence are the law and order candidates.”

Pence’s camp distanced itself from Caldara: “All of our pilots are assigned by the airline,” Pence spokesman Marc Lotter told POLITICO.

Stamina

Which candidate was huffing, puffing, sweating and shifting, and which as cool as ice? Trump and I are both tall men who can stand to lose a few pounds. How did a 70-plus year old man in his condition get suckered into standing in one spot for 90 minutes? I'll give it to Dick Cheney. He was always smart enough to make sure he was always seated for debates.

Chuck Todd criticized Hillary for being "over-prepared"

.@chucktodd: #debatenight exposed Trump's lack of preparation, but Clinton seemed over-prepared at times.

What was your first presidential debate?

I vaguely recall watching one of the 1984 debates, but I fully remember 1988? How about you?

Mrs. Greenspan looks subdued tonight

Not happy about tonight's outing?

Here we go. CNN's chasing the birther accusation.

Right on queue. I knew they would find a way to turn the debate against Hillary.
