Pres. Obama most admired man. Trump chosen by 5%, Sanders by 3%

Just flashed on MSNBC.

It's official. I'm out. DU is no longer a Democratic site

I've seen too many threads and comments that not only excuse Donald Trump's disgusting, misogynistic comments toward Hillary, but also calls for HER to apologize to Him for a factual statement she made about ISIS. I came here in 2008 thinking it was a place for Democrats and maybe it will be again some day. But for now I'm gone.

Donald Trump echoes DU members' comments re. why Hillary was late at the debate.

For Trump — who comments often on Clinton’s penchant for pantsuits, has insinuated she is in a lesbian relationship with close aide Huma Abedin, and insists she doesn’t have “the strength or the stamina” to be president — Monday’s remarks take his focus on her personal life to a new level of intimacy.

Remarking on Clinton’s late return to the podium after using the bathroom during a commercial break at this weekend’s Democratic debate, Trump said, “I know where she went. It’s disgusting. I don’t want to talk about it. It’s disgusting.”

Trump also took a shot at Clinton for losing the Democratic nomination to Obama in 2008. “She was favored to win and she got schlonged,” he said. “She lost. I mean, she lost.”

At one point, Trump contemplated the possibility that Clinton would become the next president and slapped his palms on his head in mock exasperation. “Is that a president?” he said. “You saw her the other day, in all fairnes

In 2006, Bernie Sanders Voted In Support Of An Immigration Conspiracy Theory

A few months before Democrats swept the 2006 elections, an outcry raged in the fringier corners of the immigration debate. Treasonous American officials were tipping off the Mexican government about the whereabouts of Minutemen patrols, the argument went, making it impossible for the private army bent on preventing undocumented immigrants from crossing the border to do their jobs.

The outcry made it to Congress, where Georgia Rep. Jack Kingston, a Republican, introduced an amendment clearly directed at the Minutemen story. The amendment barred the Department of Homeland Security from providing “a foreign government information relating to the activities of an organized volunteer civilian action group, operating in the State of California, Texas, New Mexico, or Arizona.”

Kingston’s amendment overwhelmingly passed the Republican-controlled Congress, including the votes of 76 Democrats, most of them from the party’s then-strong Blue Dog conservative wing. Another person voted for the measure, too: Rep. Bernie Sanders, an independent in the midst of the campaign that would send him the U.S. Senate.

The Minutemen have long since faded from the the national conversation and from memory — in an interview with BuzzFeed News, Kingston had to dig deep to remember the specifics of the vote, and other prominent Republican Minuteman supporters of the time didn’t recall it at all — but fears that the federal government is undermining efforts by local authorities to fight illegal immigration continue.

Hillary Clinton camp to Donald Trump: 'Hell no' on apology

Washington (CNN)Hillary Clinton will not apologize to Donald Trump for saying that his comments disparaging Muslims were being used in ISIS videos to recruit terrorists.

"Hell no. Hillary Clinton will not be apologizing to Donald Trump for correctly pointing out how his hateful rhetoric only helps ISIS recruit more terrorists," Clinton spokesman Brian Fallon said Monday afternoon.

Earlier Monday, Trump demanded that Clinton apologize to him for her comment.

"I will demand an apology from Hillary," Trump said Monday on NBC's "The Today Show." "I will demand an apology from Hillary, she should apologize. She lies about emails, she lies about Whitewater, she lies about everything. She will be a disaster as President of the United States."

Clinton made the claim during Saturday night's Democratic debate, but a spokeswoman later said they did not have a specific video of ISIS using clips of Trump disparaging Muslims, but instead pointed to social media comments from ISIS recruiters. CNN's Reality Check Team also found there was nothing to support Clinton's claim of an ISIS video showing Trump.

Chelsea Clinton announces she's expecting a second child.

Anyone have conspiracy theories they'd like to share? I'm sure there are more than a few.

Thank you, Bernie.

I was expecting Bernie to be as confrontational as his campaign staff over the data breach and, once again, he proved himself to be a much bigger and better man than those around him. And those people, I think, just see him as a vehicle to "stick it to the establishment" (especially Jeff Weaver) and use it as a justification to do whatever they want. And he is severely ill-served by them. Good show, Senator.

Just got back from 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens'. My random thoughts (SPOILER ALERT)

1. I held my breath when "A Long, Long Time Ago" came across the screen and nearly jumped for joy when the title music began.

2. I unexpectedly teared up when Carrie Fisher and Harrison Ford looked into each other's eyes for the first time in years.

3. Daisy Ridley, John Bodega and Oscar Isaac have very strong careers ahead of them.

4. Kylo Ren felt kind of weak next to Darth Vader, and perhaps that was by design.

5. The mischief-maker in me would have allowed the Star Killer base to get that last shot off before exploding, thus wiping the slate clean for the new generation of heroes.

6. Luke's lightsaber making its way to Maz could be a movie in and of itself.

7. But the show stealer for me was Poe and his Poe Dameon's Blue Squadron.

8. I'm counting the days until 'Rogue Squadron'.

Why Bernie will not run as a third party candidate.

As one of only two Independent senators, Bernie as to decide which party he is going to sit with, and that party determines his committee assignment. If he were to decide scorch the Earth in 2016 and hand the White House to Republicans, he might as well resign from the Senate or join the GOP Conference because he would be persona non grata among Senate Dems.

From Dkos: Should Bernie Sanders be fundraising off a conspiracy?

And instead of coming forward this morning and owning up to it, the Bernie camp threw 1 of the 4 culprits under the bus and began fundraising off this by proclaiming it is proof of their “Hillary-DNC” conspiracy theory. ‘See! See! This is why they are having the debates on Saturday! We told you so! Now give us money and spread that conspiracy theory, please and thank you!!!! 😉’

It’s a clever tactic. Turning yourself into the victim when you committed the crime. But it’s also a dirty tactic because it impugns Hillary’s integrity by saying she’s involved in a conspiracy theory with the DNC.

However, the premise of this conspiracy theory relies on Hillary needing to have the Sanders campaign stripped of its data to win. Hillary is up 30-points nationwide, up in Iowa, will dominate Super Tuesday, and will win most of the superdelegates. So why would Debbie feed right into the “Hillary-DNC” conspiracy theory with Hillary in such high standing?

Ironically, Bernie Sanders is hailed as some sort of political saint. Yet as of late, he has been employing some questionable tactics against Hillary.

After declaring Americans are sick and tired of Hillary’s “e-mails,” Bernie is now bringing up the FBI investigation again [even though the FBI is investigating the security of the server; Hillary is NOT under direct FBI investigation]. Invoking “FBI” is an intentional and systematic way to brainwash voters against Hillary Clinton. Bernie is [yet again] doing the job of the Koch Brothers by attacking Hillary over her e-mails.

The Republicans have been employing similar smear tactic against Hillary’s integrity for years, successfully brainwashing a huge segment of our population to be Hillary-hating sheep. The right-wing must love watching their strategy work even more effectively on the left, hoping Bernie can achieve Nader-like status and ruin all of Obama's progress.

Point is — Bernie’s campaign is not staying true to Bernie’s word when he fundraises by impugning Hillary’s integrity with a conspiracy theory. It’s an unfortunate development for him and his many supporters that seem to think Hillary is a demon. Y’all are in some weird company with the Republicans on that one.
