2008
Four years ago, in 2008, the day before the election Pres Obama's grandmother died.
That night in 2008 Obama gave his final campaign speech in North Carolina and spoke of his grandmother dying earlier that morning.
She was the grandmother that he grew up with.
His sister Maya was by her side in Hawaii when she passed away.

In North Carolina, Barack Obama speaks about his grandmother, Madeyln Dunham or "Toot," who passed away just this morning, one day before the election.
"She was a quiet hero," Obama said.
Toot, short for Tutu (grandmother in Hawaiian) died from cancer at 86 years old.
Obama stated, "She's gone home."
Obama and his sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, issued the following statement:
"It is with great sadness that we announce that our grandmother, Madelyn Dunham, has died peacefully after a battle with cancer. She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility. She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and left this world with the knowledge that her impact on all of us was meaningful and enduring. Our debt to her is beyond measure.
Our family wants to thank all of those who sent flowers, cards, well-wishes, and prayers during this difficult time. It brought our grandmother and us great comfort. Our grandmother was a private woman, and we will respect her wish for a small private ceremony to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to any worthy organization in search of a cure for cancer."

When Romney got off of the plane Wednesday in Miami 'BEFORE' going to Univision his face was already brown,
so in my opinion no one should blame it on a Univision make-up person.
You can see in the photo below a vertical line on his neck - 47% of his neck is white and the rest is brown.

A Promise Kept: Pauline and Homecare Workers
In 2007 then-Senator Barack Obama spent a day with Pauline Beck, a homecare worker. He worked alongside her, getting to know the daily life and concerns of a homecare worker. Now, as President, he has taken action that will require homecare workers recieve at least a minimum wage and overtime protections - which many were previously exempt from.

So, I went and looked up what was reported regarding what 'Congress' said in response to Obama's debt ceiling request...

It does seem like President Obama laid the ground work that would show that Congress refused to 'do any business' because they were not in session, before he made yesterday's four recess appointments - So, it looks like President Obama set this one up VERY well, and the GOP wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they were to fight against the appointments in court!

When the president announced he was going to use his authority to raise the debt limit a couple of days ago, Republicans in Congress whined mightily that they wouldn't be able to demagogue the issue because their bodies were in recess. It does seem like President Obama laid the ground work that would show that Congress refused to 'do any business' because they were not in session, before he made yesterday's four recess appointments - So, it looks like President Obama set this one up VERY well, and the GOP wouldn't have a leg to stand on if they were to fight against the appointments in court!
