Romney, Flake, Collins are as close as they come these days, but they consistently lack the courage of their expressed convictions. Even McCain failed to live up to his own hype—although I’ll always remember the strength of his spine when he knew death was coming.

Before today there was John Danforth of Missouri, who like Collins today, always said the right sounding things, and then would fold like a garage sale card table.

I wonder if Lincoln was the only and last Republican patriot.

Pete Sessions is considered to be extraordinarily stupid and arrogant by most North Texas Republicans.

The rest of us just hate him for who and what he is.

He knows he can’t win in his former district, so he is trying to run in the kind of rural type district that had gifted us with Texas luminaries such as Joe Barton and Louie Gohmert.

Being named in an indictment will probably help him in this state, but I can’t help but be 😁

He is going to destroy this country probably if the Republicans do not wake up and turn him out of office. We need their help. This is not some fucking partisan game.

When this is over we will not have allies. Who will trust us?Even the Israelis are nervous now. No one knows what will happen next. We have just condemned our best ally in the Middle East to certain genocide. And Trump is babbling something about it’s OK because they didn’t support us during World War II.

They've raised hypocrisy to an art form

I often wonder how their heads don't explode from the cognitive dissonance rattling around in there.

But, then I reflect that they all share one trait--they're fundies. Fundamentalists absorb errant nonsense with their mother's milk and it only gets worse from there.

I once made the mistake of asking a fundie girl whether she thought I was going to hell and she replied without a moments hesitation, "Of course". We'd just finished having sex.

I was raised as a Catholic and we at least had the good grace to feel guilty (although that had passed by this time). She, on the other had, was "saved". That meant you could do anything and it was okay. Didn't even have to feel guilty or go to confession.

Screwing a heathen? Not a problem.

Genocide? Not a problem. A double standard? That is a very small thing indeed. Definitely not an issue.
