The Most Shocking Thing That I heard this Weekend

This is most shocking thing that I heard this week as reported by Australian Broadcasting Network

"A toddler has suffered fatal burns at a Texas home after being left alone with her pre-school siblings, who put her in an oven and switched it on, US media reported.

J'Zyra Thompson, 19 months, was left unsupervised along with her three-year-old twin siblings in the Houston apartment. A five-year-old was also present.

Court records obtained by ABC-13 News in Houston said the twins told child protective services that one of them put their little sister in the oven and the other one made it "hot."

Their mother Raqual Thompson, 25, reportedly told police she had gone out with her boyfriend to collect a pizza and a prescription at the drug store when her child burned to death on November 16.

When they returned home they found the three other children crying and pointing to the kitchen. The oven had toppled over with the door face down on the floor.

Ms Thompson is set to appear in court Monday on four counts of child endangerment, according to the Harris County Sheriff's office.

Child protective services said the couple had failed to alert a grandmother, who lived in the same apartment complex, that they were leaving the children unsupervised, according to local medics

This is most disgusting thing that I have heard in a long time. This is considered to be involuntary manslaughter/child neglect with an especially aggravating sentence. I would sentence her to 20 years in Texas penitentiary.

Saudi Artist’s Death Sentence Follows a String of Harsh Punishments

Saudi Arabia is brutal and especially against religious dissenters as reported by the New York Times

"SANLIURFA, Turkey — For years, Ashraf Fayadh, an artist and poet, has served as an unofficial ambassador for Saudi Arabia’s small contemporary art scene, organizing shows and working to introduce Saudi art to the world.
Although Mr. Fayadh is of Palestinian origin and officially stateless, Saudi Arabia is the only home he has ever known, his friends say, and he sees art as a line of communication between Saudi society and the rest of the world.
But on Nov. 17 a Saudi court sentenced Mr. Fayadh to death on charges of apostasy based on poems he published years before and on the testimony of a few witnesses, according to Adam Coogle, a researcher for Human Rights Watch who has read the court documents.
The sentence, which can be appealed, follows a string of harsh punishments handed down by Saudi courts amid the highest recorded number of executions in the kingdom since 1995, according to human rights groups.
Notable cases have included the public flogging of a liberal blogger; a death sentence for a protester for offenses committed as a minor; and a sentence of 350 blows for a British man who was arrested with alcohol in his car. (The Briton was released this month after spending more than a year in prison, averting the threatened flogging.)
Such punishments have fueled comparisons between Saudi Arabia, a longtime ally of the United States, and the jihadists of the Islamic State, both of whom claim to rule according to Islamic Shariah law and penalize acts that are not considered crimes in much of the world.
Saudi officials stand by their allegiance to Shariah but reject any comparison with the Islamic State, saying that Saudi courts apply equal justice and noting that jihadists have repeatedly attacked their country.

The real problem is that the current rulers overtly paranoid with control and fear. Using a religion is a just a guise to prevent the masses from rising up and taking control of the government. Why we are supporting these people?
Why are sending these countries military planes when they are almost as bad as ISIS?

This is the only reason that I can find to support oil and gas development in the US because less money is flowing to these dictatorship and producing jobs instead of finding more
Seriously, that country is evil and I feel sorry for the people to have to put with this religious BS>

Ted Cruz Might Be Low On Money

I got this e-mail in my in-box

"Hi Friend,

Ted just emailed (below) asking me for an update on whether or not we are going to reach our goal before time is up...

I haven't emailed him back yet because as of now we're more than $500,000 shy with just days to go.

If we don't catch up quickly, I'll have to tell him that we're going to miss our goal. AND with Jindal dropping out of the race for lack of funds, I don't want us to come up short too!

I just checked our records, Friend, and it looks like you haven't had a chance to stop and chip in this month.

Now's the time.

If you already responded or our emails have crossed on the web...please forgive me.

Besting this fundraising deadline is absolutely critical to keeping Senator Cruz in the race for president.

If you give $35 now, it is worth more than $100 later on...

Thank you,
Lauren Lofstrom

Cruz for President"

So maybe Cruz is the next one to go?

GOP Thinks That Obama Should Resign Over Syria

Here is an exceprt from an ABC News article

The policies he's advancing are helping the other team," said Cruz, who called the president, Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and Secretary of State John Kerry "apologists for terrorists."

Cruz called for Kerry's resignation, drawing cheers from the 1,500 in attendance.

Huckabee went a step further, saying Kerry was "only doing the bidding of the person who appointed him.

"I've got a better idea -- instead of getting rid of John Kerry, I'd like Barack Obama to resign if he's not going to protect America and instead protect the image of Islam"

Specifically, the concept of Obama actually resigning because he is not going to protect America and let one of the guys take power is an exercise in insanity. So Obama is actually ruining our national security so that jihadists can impose sectarian shariah law in the US is beyond me.

GOP candidates use American exceptionalism as method to spread fear and created inflated views about the United States foreign policy. The GOP uses patriotism and jingoism to hide from a realistic look at our part in foreign affairs and admitting our part.

Admitting our part would be sign of weakness. In reality, admitting our part and making amends is how country evolves and develops strategic alliances with our country that will preseve the mutual self-interest of both countries.

Admitting our part is not a sign of weakness. It is how addicts like me recover from addiction to booze. Admitting our part lets us go our problems and let us take a realistic view of our selves.

The GOP uses American exceptionism as a cover because they do not want to admit addiction to war and addiction to intervention in countries where we have no business invading.

Huckabee's and his ilk are just using this to continue to prove their addiction to war and interventionism. Endless war and interventionism brought down the Roman Empire and it could do the same to us

Voter ID

I just do not understand why the GOP think that voter IDs will make elections honest. They will not. Expanding voter registration efforts will. Apprarently this tweet sums their attitude.
