The claim that someone fears gun owners so much that they would flee without paying for food

would hold a lot more credence if the people making such claims didn't spend their every waking moment doing everything in their power to antagonize and inflame gun owners.

You can never tell when a gun owner will fly into a murderous rage, we're told. Sure, they might walk into a restaurant with their family just looking for a nice dinner but the least little thing could set them off and the next thing you know bodies would be everywhere so if you see a gun owner the advised course of action is to leave the restaurant in such a hurry that you probably won't have time to pay the bill.

Because, you know, those gun owners are such a volatile bunch.

So, obviously that necessitates making a point of frequently internet groups were gun owners frequent and doing everything in your power to goad them. Posting insulting pictures, use derogatory words, paint them as racists, make them out to be murderers. Do anything and everything to poke them with a rhetorical stick.

Because, you know, those gun owners are such a volatile bunch.

An Army Captain Takes Obama to Court Over ISIS Fight

An Army Captain Takes Obama to Court Over ISIS Fight

WASHINGTON — A 28-year-old army officer on Wednesday sued President Obama over the legality of the war against the Islamic State, setting up a test of Mr. Obama’s disputed claim that he needs no new legal authority from Congress to order the military to wage that deepening conflict.

The plaintiff, Capt. Nathan Michael Smith, an intelligence officer stationed in Kuwait, voiced strong support for fighting the Islamic State but, citing his “conscience” and his vow to uphold the Constitution, he said he believed that the conflict lacked proper authorization from Congress.

“To honor my oath, I am asking the court to tell the president that he must get proper authority from Congress, under the War Powers Resolution, to wage the war against ISIS in Iraq and Syria,” he wrote.

The legal challenge comes after the death of the third American service member fighting the Islamic State and as Mr. Obama has decided to significantly expand the number of Special Operations ground troops he has deployed to Syria aid rebels there.

It's time to "call it"

It could have been a hard fought contest of ideals, ideas and vision. Instead it became a shrieking demands of obedience in exchange for the presumed safety of the gilded cage of The Establishment -- except we get the cage and The Establishment gets the gild.

It could have been a debate about how to achieve the goals we once shared. Instead it became a timid retreat into every fable for failure put forward by the obstructionist opposition.

It could have been a rejection of unjust war, corporatism and lawless government. Instead we have been treated to hurricane force winds from all the hand-waving because not voting for blue corruption is supposedly a love of red corruption.

It could have been civil. Instead, every effort was made to brand those who have stood for decades fighting for civil rights and rallying around our beleaguered president for nigh-on 8 years into racist and sexists.

It couldn't even wait for the natural tides of a common foe to bring the unity that was supposedly being demanded. No, instead it became a cry to begin a countdown clock to blind, uncritical obedience; of party over principle; compliance over commonality.

Progressivism? Liberalism?

Yeah. Right.

It's time to call it.

Many Hillary supporters, for months, have been telling us "These are the rules." Now

they're telling us we should call the nomination even though the rules say the primary process has yet to fully run its course and there may even have been flagrant rule-breaking when it comes to urging qualified Democratic voters.

Rules only apply when they serve the purposes of the power-hungry.

We were supposed to spend the weekend out in the woods

But a blizzard came through.

Okay. So maybe we can just have a nice romantic weekend at home. Right?

No. I came down with a cold.

I'm coughing and sneezing. My face is all puffy and. My voice is husky, which could almost be sexy save for the grossness running out of me. And I swear I have fuzzy caterpillars crawling around inside my sinuses.

So how does Lover Boy react to all this?

The big lug brought me my favorite recipe of tuna salad with corn chips and a mug tomato bisque.

The question isn't whether or not I will vote for the Democratic candidate.

The question is: What defines a Democratic candidate?

"Whore" is not an appropriate term for this day and age.

Considering the fact the Securities & Exchange Commission (SEC) is responsible for the regulatory oversight of corporations and financial markets the proper term would be --

"SECs Worker"

If law enforcement is the key to reducing crimes committed with guns

What would make more sense practically/logistically/Constitutionally/ethically --

A) focusing efforts on the scant minority of individuals intent on perpetrating predatory acts

or

B) a broad-sweeping effort that impacts tens -- if not hundreds -- of millions of people who have no intention except to peaceably live out their lives
