Two weeks ago I asked for Good Vibes........

I had been in a car accident. I went to the ER and was found to have a concussion. The CT scan also showed that I had a meningioma (tumor) and hyperostosis.

I had an MRI last week and saw the neurologist today. What the CT showed to be the tumor, was actually a vascular problem that may lead to dementia. I'm scheduled for another MRI in 6 months.

Your vibes worked well. The problem was not as bad as was originally noted by those who read the CT scan.

God, please spare me from Paul Ryan.........

just watched a short interview he did with a local (Pittsburgh) news correspondent. According to Ryan, he's not going to stop anyone from obtaining birth control. He was asked about his "forced rape" comments in proposed laws, he said rape is rape. He doesn't want these side issues to take away from the election.

SIDE ISSUES, his proposals and policies that would limit the rights of women is not a side issue. It is the issue. If this is the way he wants to treat more than 1/2 the population of the United States, then he needs to move aside so he doesn't get stomped on by women who will vote against him.


I wanted to add that I was pissed that at a rally today he was seen waving the Terrible Towel. The Terrible Towel is a symbol of pride to Pittsburghers. The profits from every sale go to a Home and foundation for the mentally retarded. Also if Ryan knew anything about the Steelers, he would know that the owners backed President Obama and former owner Dan Rooney was appointed Ambassador to Ireland by President Obama.

Paul Ryan has sponsored only 8 pieces of legislation........

during this past term. This shows to me that he is a very lazy congressman and a very arrogant congressman. if you check his sponsored budget you will see that he was offering this budget for the years 2013 through 2021.

This November every voter has to pull the straight Democratic handle............

This is one of the many messages we need to tell people. We have to repeat as often as possible "the Republican dominated House of Representatives, is responsible for the way things are going in Washington."

If a family member or friend says that they like their Republican representative and will vote for him in November, you repeat the above.

America will only be successful again, if all Republicans are defeated at every level, nationally, statewide and locally.

Allegheny County, PA GOP chair Jim Roddey made a joke at a Republican election night party equating President Obama's supporters with the mentally disabled, the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Said Roddey: "There was a disappointment tonight. I was very embarrassed. I was in this parking lot and there was a man looking for a space to park, and I found a space for him. And I felt badly -- he looked like he was sort of in distress. And I said, 'Sir, here's a place.' And he said, 'That's a handicapped space.' I said, 'Oh I'm so sorry, I saw that Obama sticker and I thought you were mentally retarded.'"

According to the report, "the crowd hollered and clapped."

He (Roddey) is being asked to step down.

Need good vibes.............Update

Nothing real serious.

I was enroute to Obama headquarters to talk about becoming an Obama Fellow. Of course on the way, some idiot from Alabama (I'm in Pennsylvania) rear ends me.

My never scratched VW Routan is seriously injured. State Trooper took a report and the driver of the other car took complete responsibility for the damage. The driver his wife & 2 kids were okay. An off duty paramedic stopped and checked everyone out.

I was seatbelted & when I was hit, my head went forward, and I swear I felt my brain shake. I have a headache and keeping an eye on how I feel as the evening goes on & whether or not I head to my Doctor's office.

Turned everything over to my insurance company. My car was driveable but the other one was flat bedded.

As recommended I did go to the hospital. I have a concussion. But the CT found things that I didn't know. I have arthritis in my neck (C-6 & C-7) also found that I have two things that I need an MRI for, 1. a meningioma (tumor) and hyperostosis (bone growth). The tumor is 95% of the time found to be benign. After the MRI, I have to meet with a neurologist.

There was a reason for this accident, I guess.

question about canning

For some reason I've decided that I am going to can some vegetables & fruits, so that we can have them over the winter. We buy at a Farmer's Market during the summer & usually freeze a lot, but then there doesn't leave much room in the freezer.

There are 2 items that my Mom would like me to can, these are:

A 6 lb. can of tomatoes and a 6 lb. can of fruit cocktail. If she opens the tomatoes, she would have to freeze what she doesn't use right away. The fruit cocktail, she would open for the holidays (she adds other fresh fruit to it & her own syrup)

I'm okay with the process to can the tomatoes, but the fruit cocktail I have questions about.

Can I use the syrup in the can to each jar, or should I be adding something else?

I will be using the heat process for the canning (not the pressure cooker).
