Today is Earth Day and I have something to say,

Many feet have walked upon me
Unaware, barely noticing
I'm here, there, and all around
Under, over, in and on
Places where man need not go
But for greed and need
With predatory inclinations
Hindered by ignorance
Causing irreparable harm
Many warnings, ignored
Alas, most are known
My forever, may be lost
I'm abused, battered and torn
Water flowing, toxic
Air tainted, unseen
Forests charred, lifeless
Crops, unharvested and abandoned
Arctic ice, tumbling
Drought, unforgiving
Storms ravaging and heedless
Land, scorched and deserted
Sea, rising and unrestrained
Despair all around
Facing my demise
Now and forever
Human, you are my guest
Heed my warning
I am Earth
For if I die
So shall you.

Thank You For The Hearts! I Heart DU for being here for us.

This thought just smacked me in the head

this morning. Trump is living vicariously through his base. He hates his own life; he's unable to become who and how he secretly would like his life to be. He's spent years molding his base into what he wishes he could do and be but can't self import himself into those same actions and words. The moment of his climactic vicarious actions happened on January 6th. He told his base, we're going to the capital - we're going to the capital and I'll be there with you - we're walking down to the capital. The big vicarious finale was allowing him to be where they were, he was them. Even after it all fell apart he was still loving them ... loving himself; his "other" life will go on as is - that's all that's left in his long narcissistic existence.

What my morning of quiet time found ... a yearning for unity

across the divide
between an upwards hill
there sits a future
where no one is left behind
as you sit at the waters edge
among the fragile weeds
know your journey is your destiny
visualize hope in your coming days
your dark will be hidden by light
left behind are clouds of disquiet
as your days are made anew
a nearness of an abiding relief
sits at your doorway of custody
held open with the longing of unison
allows for an entry of fulfillment
the promise will be completed
Unity - For One And For All

Pondering ... I wrote this in 2019 ...

PONDERING

When demagogues seduce
And subterfuge is ignored
When deceit is established
And character is exposed
When bigotry is fashionable
And hate becomes inspiring
When censorship is convenient
And vengeance is treasured
When ignorance has pride
And experience is deplored
When disrespect is tolerable
And rudeness is pleasing
When mocking is satisfying
And misogyny has approval
When propaganda is rampant
And falsehoods are believed
When greed is embraced
And selfishness is transparent
When lies are acceptable
And facts are fake
When fear exceeds hope
And light becomes dark
…What Remains

I guess we found out, didn't we.

Why are Maga's so angry in regards to the outcome of the Presidential

election ... the polls all said that Biden was ahead - Biden, 52 ... Trump, 44 ... so why do they believe otherwise? The media keeps saying that "Trumpers" don't believe that Biden won because it was rigged; so why doesn't the media show, again and again, the polls prior to the election, it might help quell some of their irrational thinking.

As I watched, in real time, a violent gang of homegrown

terrorist's take over the US Capital, threatening our congress men and women and causing enormous damage, I was horrified! Those hateful racists who think of themselves as superior to people of color, who are indeed proud of their whiteness, chose that day to expose their faces for all to see. They were so proud and loud that they didn't even have to put on their white hoods. So those hateful bastards showed us didn't they - how much "better" they are than people of color. I witnessed each one of them behaving in a way that no black or brown person I know would ever think of acting out such disgusting deeds.

I have a very serious question that I'm sure someone on DU will

have the answer. I know the President has the power to deploy the US military in such matters as insurrection or civil disobedience but if the President is unable, (for any reason), shouldn't that responsibility automatically be given to the Vice President?

We Dems should send Trump a box of lemons with a note attached that

says: President Trump, your cult followers bought a lemon that was old, rusty, and broken. They tried to keep you running, but you ran out of fuel and just couldn't be fixed. Off you go to the scrap pile - may you continue to rust in peace.

I'm looking forward to the Biden/Harris Inauguration. I think not

revealing the details of the ceremony leaves much to the imagination in a wondrous and exciting way. We will finally have a President who has the moral qualities to lead us out of the Trump Storm that we've suffered through! I think we will begin to relax and have hope again. On the other hand, I'm not looking forward to Mr. Trump's psychological breakdown once Biden is sworn in … my imagination doesn't include the worst of the worst this evil man could cause!
