What's your favorite Monty Python sketch?

Spam?
Ministry of Silly Walks?
The Lumberjack song?

I'll go with the one where John Cleese plays Beethoven trying to finish his Fifth Symphony, while his wife keeps coming into the room interrupting him.

What's your favorite scene from the movie Borat?

So many hilarious scenes to choose from.

When he calls a black hooker & invites her to dinner at the segregationists' home

When he sings the Kazakhstan National Anthem to the tune of the U.S National Anthem, angering a stadium-full of redneck rodeo enthusiasts

When he meets with Congressman Bob Barr, offers him some homemade cheese, and then tells him that it was made with his wife's breast milk.

When he chases Pamela Anderson out from behind her book signing table & into the parking lot.

But I guess my favorite scene is right after he lands in New York.
He goes on the subway, attempts to kiss several men on the cheek, and then accidentally lets his pet chicken out of his suitcase & chases the chicken around the subway car.

Mitch McConnell Gets Caught Trying To Disguise His Paid Supporters As Sound Crew

Source:
Politicususa.com
October 23, 2014

Senator Mitch McConnell was caught in a massive lie today when he told reporters that his paid supporters were sound crew.
Other media soon revealed that many of his supporters at rallies were bused in
.
McConnell claimed that his paid supporters were sound crew.

A reporter who asked Sen. McConnell about the paid supporters after an event in Louisville today was lied to, and snapped at by the reeling incumbent

McConnell said, "We had some staff people staffing the events.
Ninety-five percent of the people...You were there...Were you there?...Ninety-five percent of the people were local."

The problem is that reporters who were there are reporting that Senator McConnell is not telling the truth.
McConnell's campaign is increasingly showing signs of lacking popular support.
The Republican Party has spent much of the month of October trying to bribe people to show up at McConnell's rallies.

More Bad News For Don Siegelman

October 16, 2014

Today I received this e-mail from Former Alabama Governor Don Siegelman, who is still in prison for a crime he did not commit, a victim of Karl Rove's machinations.

Dear Friends:

I'm sorry to tell you that the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals has postponed my oral argument yet again...Now it will be "after January"
My lawyers responded to this news with a motion to have me released on bond because if we win our appeal, I will have spent time in prison for charges that will have been reversed.

I regret to hear, as I know you do, that my trial judge has got himself into some trouble.
He was arrested when his wife, Kelli, told the police who were responding to her 911 call that she was beaten, kicked, and dragged around by her hair in their ritzy Atlanta hotel room.
(His first wife, Lisa, made such allegations in her complaint for divorce)

The accusations of substance abuse, domestic abuse, and promiscuous behavior in his courtroom do not give me pleasure..This is something no one should take pleasure from.
Especially the reports of Domestic Violence...DV hurts and it kills.
My concern with the issue of Domestic Violence is not new.
Because Domestic Violence is so destructive, I did a lot as Attorney General, Lt. Governor, and Governor, to prevent domestic violence and to punish those who commit such acts.
I would like to tell you a frustrating and painful story about a domestic violence victim,
Rhonda Hutto, that illustrates how dangerous DV can be.

I first met Rhonda when I was having a hearing on Victims' Rights in Huntsville, Alabama.
Mrs. Hutto came to my hearing and bravely stood and told her story.
She was scared and there were tears...She had done everything right, seeking protective orders, divorcing her abusive husband, moving out of state, changing her name.
To everyone's horror, about a month after Rhonda gave her testimony, Rhonda's ex-husband found her and killed her.
When I appointed a Commission on Victims' Rights, I devoted it to the frustrating and painful memory of Rhonda Hutto.

We should all pray for peace and justice, pray for victims and bullies, and demand appropriate punishment for those who commit these cowardly acts.
Despite my focus and all my efforts on Domestic Violence in my political career, clearly, there is still a lot more work to do.

With deep appreciation, I am, your friend, and so glad you're mine.

Don

Governor of Alabama, 1999-2003
Elected Twice, Inaugurated Once
Lt. Governor, 1995-1999
Secretary of State, 1979-1987
Federal Prisoner 'till June, 2018...Final discharge, 2021 (With your help, this will not stand)

Prisoner # 24775-001

Georgia GOP Senate Candidate: "Sending Jobs Overseas Is The American Way"

Think Progress.org
By Igor Volsky

'Senate Candidate: Sending Jobs Overseas Is The American Way"

Most business people who run for public office emphasize their record of creating private sector jobs for the people they hope to represent.
But David Perdue, Georgia's Republican candidate for Senate, is taking an entirely different tact. bragging about the jobs he sent overseas.

Responding to reporters on Monday about revelations that he outsourced jobs during his career as a corporate executive, Perdue argued that offshoring "is a part of American business,
part of any business," adding, "I'm proud of it."

According to July 2005 deposition obtained by Politico, Perdue admitted that he
"spent most of my career" outsourcing jobs and shifting "manufacturing operations to lower-cost foreign factories, especially in Asia," while serving as CEO of a North Carolina textile manufacturer called Pillowtex Corporation.

Perdue added that he also moved parts of the manufacturing process to Asian countries while working with Kurt Salmon Associates, Gitano, and Sara Lee.

A Gross Purchase of GOP Governors

By
Jim Hightower
October 8, 2014

"Perhaps you think that corporations use their campaign donations to buy politicians who then deliver public policies the corporate donors want.
And perhaps you think this is corrupt, anti-democratic, and ..well, stinky.

You would of course be right.

As Lily Tomlin has put it: 'No matter how cynical you get, it's almost impossible to keep up.'

The corporate purchase of Washington is pretty widely reported, but - keep up now - for the kleptocratic stinkiness is fast consuming our statehouses as well.

The Republican Governor's Association has devised a layaway purchase plan allowing brand-name corporations - Aetna to Walmart - to make secret donations of $100,000 or more a year to the RGA in support of the corporate-friendly agenda of various GOP governors.

Feed the RGA's political-favor-meter with $250,000 a year (as Coca Cola, the Koch brothers, and others do), and the association cynically anoints your corporation with the ironic title of
"Statesman," opening up gubernatorial doors throughout the country.

Well, sniff the participants, the money buys nothing but 'access' to policymakers.
But wait - when was access put on the auction block?
Shouldn't everyone have access to our public officials?
Of course, but if you call your governor, you can't even get an office intern to call you back.

If you're an RGA corporate "Statesman," however, you could get a tete-a-tete with Rick Perry, the recently indicted governor of Texas, or a private breakfast with Bob McDonnell, the now-convicted former-governor of Virginia.

See, membership in the corrupt club has it's privileges.

The corporate donors to this previously-secret scheme of plutocratic rule says it's okay, because they also give money to Democrats.
Oh, bipartisan corruption - that makes me feel so much better, how about you?"
