Little Tommy Brown

Little Tommy Brown is eating breakfast at the kitchen table when his father walks in.

FARMER BROWN: "Tommy, after breakfast, I want you to put a rope on Bessie the cow and take her down to the Smith farm."

TOMMY: "What do I do when I get there?"

FARMER BROWN: "Don't worry, Mr. Smith knows what to do."

So Tommy gets a rope and leads Bessie to the Smith farm where he finds little Suzy out front.

TOMMY: "Your dad home?"

SUZY: "Nope. But don't worry, he told me what to do."

So Suzy takes the rope and leads Bessie into the bull pen with Beauregard the Bull

Suzy crawls up on the fence and watches Beauregard mount Bessie.

TOMMY :"Looks like Beauregard is having a good time."

SUZY: "I suppose."

TOMMY (with a sheepish grin) "I wouldn't mind doing that myself."

Suzy looks at Tommy: "Go ahead. It's your cow. But I would wait for Beauregard to finish."

Donald Trump is remarkably dangerous to the Republican Party..Here's why.

The Washington Post
February 28, 2016

As it's become more and more clear that Donald Trump is the odds-on favorite to be the Republican presidential nominee, there's been considerable speculation about what he could mean for the broader GOP, particularly as the party tries to hold it's Senate majority and consolidate it's House margins in the 2016 election.

The answer: Nothing good - and perhaps something very bad.

While Trump's hard-line immigration policy,
(send 'em back. build a wall. make Mexico pay for it etc)
has caused most of the hand-wringing within establishment GOP circles, the real danger for the likes of Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) and House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis) is not in that single issue.

It's in Trump's remarkable unpredictability and seeming willingness to say things for the sake of shock value, and then inexplicably stand behind them -- in fiercely unapologetic ways.

Trump's performance on the Sunday talk shows is indicative of this tendency.

6-week-old Puppy Shot 18 times with BB Gun (Petition)

Demand Justice for Puppy Shot with BBs

AnimalPetitions.org
February 26, 2016

ROCK HILL, South Carolina

A six-week-old puppy shot with BB pellets was found by an alert utility worker.
The worker told police that he saw about 20 children playing with the puppy when he stepped away for a few minutes and came back to find the puppy bleeding heavily.
According to the police report, the children told officers that someone who stays at the apartment complex shot the dog.

Veterinarians at Ebenezer Animal Hospital say they've named the puppy Brody and expect him to pull through.
X-rays showed 18 BBs lodged in Brody's skin and muscle.
The vet states that Brody is too young to undergo Anastassia to have the pellets surgically removed; but as no vital organs were compromised, it's likely Brody's wounds will heal around the BBs without further incident.

Demand the perpetrators of this cruel act are punished to the fullest extent possible.

PETITION LETTER:
To: South Carolina U.S. Attorney William Nettles

Dear Attorney Nettles,

Rock Hill police are investigating the shooting of a six-week-old puppy.
The puppy now called Brody, was spotted by an alert utility worker who called police when he noticed the dog was bleeding heavily.
The children seen playing with Brody told police that someone staying at the apartment building shot the dog, but a suspect has yet to be identified.
Although Brody is expected to make a full recovery, such heinous behavior must not be permitted.
We demand the person or people involved with this crime are punished to the fullest extent possible.

Sincerely,
(Your name here)

If you do decide to sign the petition, you'll get a "Thank You" page, and on it are other petitions, including one demanding justice for a cat that was tortured for 3 months by it's owner's roommate...The poor cat was torched, had most of it's bones broken, and is now on life support...Whoever did this must also be punished to the fullest extent of the law.

Donald Trump in Triage Mode After Shocking Conservatives With Health Care Comments

New York Times
February 19, 2016

He has broken with many Republicans on taxing the rich, threatening trade wars and keeping Planned Parenthood alive.
On Friday, Donald J. Trump faced criticism for an even bolder act of conservative heresy:
embracing the core tenet of the Affordable Care Act.

Mr. Trump has to date offered only bits and pieces of his health agenda, generally presenting a vow to repeal "Obamacare" and replace it with "something great."

In a Town Hall meeting hosted by CNN on Thursday night, he shared some more expansive views on the subject, and unlike most Republicans he did not call for removing the individual mandate that requires Americans to have health insurance.

Asked how people with pre-existing medical conditions would purchase insurance if the health law and the mandate were eliminated, Mr. Trump said: "I like the mandate."

"So here's where I'm a little bit different," he continued.
"I don't want people dying in the streets."

Less than 20 hours later, Mr. Trump backed away from his remarks, proclaiming himself to be the fiercest opponent of the health law.
It was the latest example of a candidate who has been impervious to inconsistencies again emerging unscathed from a misstep that would probably be damaging to anyone else.

Wolves in Idaho's "Lolo Zone" Being Gunned Down by U.S. Government

The Wildlife News
February 8, 2016

Moscow, Idaho -- Aerial gunning of wild wolves is under way in remote and rugged areas of the Clearwater National Forest, conducted by the USDA's "Wildlife Services" agency at the behest of the Idaho State Fish & Game department.
The government is using helicopters to kill wolves in the so-called "Lolo Zone," which covers portions of the Selway-Bitterroot Wilderness and stretches north across the North Fork Clearwater drainage.

Despite the low wolf population in the area and throughout the state, aerial gunning operations are occurring in remote areas of the Clearwater National Forest.
The North Fork Clearwater contains close to 1-million acres of road-less public wild-lands that qualify for wilderness designation.
These wild-lands offer some of the best habitat for large carnivores in the entire Lower 48.
Despite this, the Idaho Fish & Game Dept. seems to be trying to sanitize the wild landscape for game animals.

"The Idaho Fish & Game Department is wrongly blaming the decline of elk populations in the Lolo Zone on native carnivores, including gray wolves," said Gary MacFarlane, Ecosystem Director of the Friends of the Clearwater.
"Everyone, including the Idaho Fish & Game Department, knows the decline is due to long-term habitat change in that area.
Targeting predators like the (endangered) gray wolf is unscientific, won't work to boost elk numbers, and violates the wildness of these public lands."

"Excellent habitat for predators like gray wolves, lynx, wolverines, and fisher exists throughout the Clearwater National Forest, including the Lolo Zone," said Ken Cole,
Idaho Director of Western Watersheds Project.
"But the Idaho Fish & Game Department wants to turn this wild country into an elk farm and that's ridiculous and inappropriate."

Conservation groups are especially concerned by the precedent of the wolf killing in the
Lolo Zone that uses radio collars to track the packs, because earlier this year, the Idaho Fish & Game Department landed helicopters in the iconic Frank Church-River of No Return Wilderness to collar elk and "accidentally" collared a number of wolves too

"The collaring of wolves appears to be one strategy that Idaho Fish & Game uses to track down and kill wolves in the Lolo Zone," said Gary MacFarlane.
"It is likely that the department collared the wolves in the Frank Church area so that they would eventually know the location of those individuals and their entire packs."
