So many 4REALZ?! moments in that one:

Today’s GOP.... is deeply troubled...

...about the expansion of government...

Duh, not concerned when the money from expanded government goes into their pockets from farm and corporate subsidies. Sure you're concerned.

Riiiight...

...about immigration...

So please just move your arrogant asses back to Europe, which also does not want you.

Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out.

...about secularism...

Why, you can't pick the religion you want to replace it and still have a Constitution. Are you saying Ayn Rand isn't good enough for you anymore?

Boofuckinghoo!!!

...about the mainstreaming of what used to be the avant-garde...

Yeah, like you worried about slavery, genocide, torture, or domestic terrorism for centuries...

Sorry, but we (I and the mouse in my pocket) have nothing but disdain for your concerns.

Stuff it!

Signed,

THE AMERICAN PUBLIC

P. S. We are coming for you, muahaha!

She's not on the far left. She's sane. That's what most people want to see.

She won't screw up the social safety net and she won't hurt the economy. The banks can live with a little regulation, heck, with a lot of regulation. Only crooks fear her.

She's a standard issue Democrat, IMO.

As far as Christie, unless the Koch brothers, to whom he's sold out NJ, succeed in brainwashing almost every state in the union, he can't win.

If he does stand a chance, it's only because The Idiocracy is here and it's hopeless.

That's the version I've generally seen, with all of that there. Every meme from hate radio is there.

Wash, rinse, repeat. And it does it work on the human mind very well.

A person may look at that and think, 'Oh, look, it's a wingnut,' and not feel an immediate threat. But the rhetoric builds subconsciously to let you know if you fall into any of those groups, you are a game animal. Nothing new:

Gun Advocate Declares Democrat Hunting Season, Encourages Assassinations (AUDIO)

And yes, the parties are far apart. Those who say they are the same, have not paid attention. One can look at the videos of the Birchers and baggers, and other versions of RWNJs, who can't think right after hearing all of this.

We can't solve problems in a democratic society with no discourse. This is not discourse, this is about minds made up, waiting to act or at least, scare others into not speaking. Some RWNJs will never act out; some clearly have. We ignore them at our peril and we have a difficult position, because democracy doesn't allow us to act in kind. If we do what they do, we have lost.

Is it any wonder that PDs are buying tanks? Think about the police state these guys are bringing.

This escalation is what the Koches want so much that they spend millions to brainwash them to make their dreams come true:

That is not a photoshop. I've seen these on and off for nearly 30 years in more than one state. It has an effect on both sides of the aisle, emboldening one and intimidating the other.

The focus on the word rare is wrong. Choosing to birth or not belongs to those who give birth, eom

That being said, the focus on surgical abortion was created by rightwingers to keep a private matter public, when other options were always available.

Abortions are not painless, and turn a private matter into something it should not be. Abortion is not a sacred medical treatment, nor should it be the public spectacle they made it to be.

The RW has kept this in the news for decades so they could make a show of women running through a gauntlet of protestors like little girls trying to go to school in Afghanistan. And to make them easy prey for RWNJ politicians.

Women world wide used abortifacients for centuries and it is a private matter when handled that way. The morning after pill should be available to all women to have on demand. It is not even an abortifacient within 24 hours, as conception has not occured. But wingnuts have brainwashed people into thinking it is abortion.

Even if it was, it is none of anyone's business. IMHO, not even the man who is involved. He does not have a birth contract with the woman, she is not a brood mare even if she is married. Getting pregnant is not her responsibility until she agrees to do so.

Purely coincidentally:

40 Armed Gun Advocates Intimidate Mothers Against Gun Violence In A Restaurant Parking Lot

On Saturday, nearly 40 armed men, women, and children waited outside a Dallas, Texas area restaurant to protest a membership meeting for the state chapter of Moms Demand Action for Gun Sense in America, a gun safety advocacy group formed in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.

According to a spokeswoman for Moms Demand Action (MDA), the moms were inside the Blue Mesa Grill when members of Open Carry Texas (OCT) — an open carry advocacy group — “pull up in the parking lot and start getting guns out of their trunks.” The group then waited in the parking lot for the four MDA members to come out. The spokeswoman said that the restaurant manager did not want to call 911, for fear of “inciting a riot” and waited for the gun advocates to leave. The group moved to a nearby Hooters after approximately two hours.

MDA later released a statement calling OCT “gun bullies” who “disagree with our goal of changing America’s gun laws and policies to protect our children and families.” The statement added that the members and restaurant customers were “terrified by what appeared to be an armed ambush.” A member of OCT responded by tweeting, “I guess I’m a #gunbullies #Comeandtakeit.”

This is not the first time that gun advocates have rallied at MDA events. In March, a group of armed men crashed a MDA gun-control rally in Indianapolis. Other gun advocate groups will hold rallies this upcoming December 14th, the anniversary date of the Sandy Hook shooting.

So, it takes 40 heavily armed RWNJs to confront 4 people who dared to have a meeting. That's 4 dangerous minds, folks, 4. How scary is that, someone who wants a civilized discussion. But the gun toting fascists don't believe they have that right, so they show up like a load of commandos. Oh, no coercion there...

This incident with 2 dead and 19 wounded, might actually have been the sort of thing those mothers were thinking about in addition to Sandy Hook. But how dare they! How dare they even say such a thing! 1st amendment, anybody?

Just like the 4th that wingnuts carried on about TSA when PBO was elected, but didn't mind when the Shrub did it? Huh? And don't regard women's bodies as covered by the 4th, since they support personhood laws?

Aw, shucks. You wonder why I don't respect you. It's a two way street. A armed mob is not going to have a respectful talk while threatening to kill you for talking. Nope.

No, I am not going to be nice to people who have been shutting down civil discourse since 2008. This is pure intimidation, just like Somalia or any other libertarian paradise. Are we to be cowed into not saying anything while they and their ilk steal the USA?

It's more of the MIGHT makes RIGHT thinking that is killing this country and the planet. Oh, and people and freedom of speech, too. Big Fat Liars that they are, they claim their use of the 2nd protects the 1st.

But only for them, not anyone else!

Sorry if I went offtopic, but the thread seems to be going that way...

Thanks for your courage in telling us about your life and your family. I don't have NF, but it's

another of the living hells many people live with daily. This is not about the messenger but the more important message.

I live in a gay friendly state that protects a woman's right to choice, worker rights and many other civil liberties. Certainly not perfect, but for me the vision of the Democratic Party is inclusion, not purity or exclusion.

I see posters here on DU who make posts I despise; but they make others that make me understand they are not heartless and have their reasons. The variety of experience and talent here is stunning.

I live in an area in which we have all kinds of disabled people so that nothing is unusual. We have vets who have lost most of their face, and others who from birth have defects. Yet they are loved and rspected.

We have other young vets confined to wheelchairs that they control with a straw to move. The side walks, apartments and places of business are all disabled access. Many of our citizens work with the disabled, from schools to other situations.

This is an area where an intellectually challenged person is not shunned or mocked, welcomed in restaurants, literally, no matter how they look, how many times food misses their mouths or make odd noises.

It is part of the community the author of a book of the president's devotionals described him. I read part of and made a post of it:

DuBois is a young minister who has been interviewed on television and is quoted in the NY Times. He felt Obama had grasped the spirit of Christ and a spirit filled life based on his teachings. I'd say it means Obama has grasped the true heart and not the outside of religion as the right waves around to make themselves into authority figures The writer said what drew him to Obama and gives anecdotes.

He heard him speaking in 2004, IIRC, and not making an official speech, but talking to several people about public service. He said he used the words from the hymn, 'Our God is An Awesome God' which is a joyful, triumphant song and talked about 'the God of the blue states' as being strong as shown by the love toward all of its citizens. That's what I love about living here and being a Democrat.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/110217474#op

I look at religion in general with a jaundiced eye but cannot deny the fact that individuals of these faiths who believe in love and acceptance in some areas are indeed life savers. I do not delve with them on controversial subjects. Those who are loud and contentious and insist I agree with them, never do the kind of work I am talking about to help others. So I shun them.

That is who the enemy of humanity is, those who want to control others. Keep the church in check, maintain the power of the secular and needed resources to protect our nation from theocracy is my policy.

But when one is in dire straits or helping those who are there, you can't be picky. I've been shown grace by the weak and unpopular but also by the strong and powerful at times in my life. We all need some help at some time in our life, as children or elders, or for some, all the time in between.

It's normal. You and your family are normal, and examples of life. All will come to suffer and die, there's no escape.

I'm sorry for the ignorance and cruelty you and yours have suffered and have seen a great deal of it in my life. Just know that many of us on DU care and respect you and yours.

If he was POTUS, he couldn't swear to defend the Constitution. His allegiance is to the Koches.

The 'Kingdom Coming' will be Koch controlled. They are close, very close.
