Since I don't see it as a religious holiday, I don't dread implications. A native friend told me:

Not every day is a great day.

But every day is a good day.

Meaning, everyday you're alive is a gift no matter how bad it feels.

Memories of people and places made me weep last night, wishing I could relive those days.

It's weird… you know the end of something great is coming, but you wanna hold on, just for one more second… just so it can hurt a little more.

Trash Thread and Ignore whoever is upsetting you. Give yourself a good day, no one elso can give it to you.

Feline Overlords Decree A Merry Christmas:

Who can deny them?

As government is defunded, basic services depend on charity, so more stupidity from all sides.

Charity is no way to run an essential public service. The two groups are claiming through donating or not donating, that they can shut down the libraries as a learning resource for many more people than themselves.

Privatization will led to more of this and more religion or coporate contol. Libraries will censor books on science and politics just as the charter schools have done.

People are being driven to Libertarian solutions to destroy the Commons. We should not be surprised at these idiotic arguments. The costs should not be in the hands of the private sector, that leads to ruin.

The school is the last expenditure upon which America should be willing to economize.
