Loved him. Other than him I had no interest in racing. He was the ultimate horse spirit, and more.

I have always regarded the horse as the perfect animal.

As one man said, he was 'more than life allows' and his life was a moment in time that can never be repeated.

Another commentator said, he had 'god' inside him. His joy of being alive and acute awareness were what many dream of having.

The magnificence of this living being on this planet makes me cry and realize what a gift we all have here.

That picture came from this page. It is the dream his life represented, full of beauty, strength, vitality and courage.

Reminds me of the song by Collin Raye "I Think About You..."

It's about a cop who sees women being hurt on the streets and domestic violence and says they should be treated with respect and caring, remembering that they are, or were, someone's little girl. Because he thinks of his own little girl.

I Think About You ~ Collin Raye

Every time I see a woman on a billboard sign

I think about you

Saying, "Drink this beer and you'll be mine"

I think about you

When an actress on a movie screen
Plays Lolita in some old man's dreams
It doesn't matter who she is

I think about you

When I see a pretty woman walking down the street

I think about you

Men look her up and down like she's some kind of treat

Oh, I think about you

She wouldn't dare talk to a stranger
Always has to be aware of the danger
It doesn't matter who she is

I think about you, eight years old, big blue eyes and a heart of gold

When I look at this world,
I think about you and I can't help but see that every woman used to be
Somebody's little girl, I think about you

Every time I hear people say it's never gonna change

I think about you

Like it's some kind of joke, some kind of game

Girl, I think about you

When I see a woman on the news
Who didn't ask to be abandoned or abused
It doesn't matter who she is

I think about you, eight years old, big blue eyes and a heart of gold

When I look at this world, I think about you and I can't help but see that every woman used to be
Somebody's little girl,

I think about you, eight years old, big blue eyes and a heart of gold

When I look at this world,
I think about you

I think about you

Oh, I think about you

Yeah, I think about you

I believe the owner of the cafe. The world is not all B&W, and some things are worth more than money.

There is a video to this song but some would find it objectionable, or it would be a trigger to some.

Because first, it's a cop scene. Second, the women are shown as victims of abuse from the sex trade or their spouses and friends, with black eyes, bruises and terror in their eyes. Third, it is a country music song.

There is a form of love and respect that does not lead to sexual relations. There are many men who think like this restaurant owner, but they will be dismissed.

Sadly, that is Medea Benjamin and that is CODE PINK:

And from the OP:

Onward to peace and justice,

The CODEPINK Staff

If I was tweeting the staff there, I'd say:

'Peace oand justice for who? The women being treated as incubators by Rand Paul? Whose 4A rights were never defended when it was written, and who aren't being defended from GOP rape for daring to ask about an abortion? Sorry, but I don't think we're on the same page - or in the same class of people.'

That's what I would say to them, as the whole mess got on my last nerve. This was hashed out at DU at the time of this thread and noted in many media sources.

YMMV.

Thanks for posting this, it never gets old! There was a thread on this you might enjoy:

President Obama Brilliantly Take Down a Heckler Who THINKS He’s Going to BLOW UP RUSSIA

During his speech at the DNC, President Obama was interrupted by a heckler who claimed that he is planning a nuclear war with Russia. The president’s reaction was priceless.

Transcript:

AUDIENCE MEMBER:
Mr. Obama!

THE PRESIDENT: — I consider Republicans patriots who love this country just as much as we do.

AUDIENCE MEMBER: Tell us about your plans for nuclear war with Russia!

THE PRESIDENT: I’m sorry, who’s that back there? (Laughter.) What the heck are you talking about? (Applause.)

AUDIENCE: Obama! Obama! Obama!

THE PRESIDENT: No, no, don’t worry about it. We’re okay. Have a seat. I don’t know anything about that plan. (Laughter.) I don’t know what you’ve been reading. (Laughter.) Let me return to what I was talking about. (Applause.) See, he thought happy hour started earlier. (Laughter and applause.)
The look on President Obama’s face was priceless. If that wasn’t the ultimate WTF look, I don’t know what is. When protesters have an issue that they care about, this president has been very generous in letting them speak. However, this particular heckler was a crackpot. President Obama doesn’t want to go to war with Russia. He most definitely has no interest in starting a nuclear war. This isn’t the Cold War. Obama isn’t going to nuke Russia over the events in Ukraine. It’s silly to think that is a possibility.

It is even less likely to happen because the president made a statement today that emphasised that the consequences for Russia’s actions in Ukraine will come from the international community. For the millionth time, Barack Obama is not George W. Bush. Even George W. Bush wasn’t cowboy enough to threaten to drop a nuke on somebody. This heckler was a bit of a paranoid freak, and the president handled this individual’s rude interruption incredibly well.

The corporations swayed the vote just north of there.

What Sank the GMO Labeling Initiative in WA State? What’s Next?

Last November, a slim majority of Washington voters were persuaded that they did not need to know about the GMO ingredients in their food.

How could an issue with a 66 percent approval rating last summer lose 51-49 by election day? Four reasons: wrong year, outside money, lapdog press, lukewarm message...

And among the reasons:

Outside Money: Four out-of-state Big Chemical corporations and the Food Manufacturers Association donated a whopping $22 million, half of it illegal, to sway voters with a barrage of negative advertising.

http://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5EoRd7_UGjeKqnM2HUwalQ

Day after day, up to four times an hour, voters heard seemingly trustworthy, reliable speakers—farmers (including an organic farmer), a dietitian, an obstetrician, a former attorney general–claim the “poorly written” initiative was bad for farmers, would raise food costs, had too many exemptions. Most importantly, they said GM food is no different from ordinary food, so why bother labeling it?

Well-crafted, polished, convincing advertising, except none of it was true...

More surprising was the role of KCTS Channel 9, the local affiliate of PBS, in swaying the election. KCTS’s decision to air “Next Meal: Engineering Food,” a biotech infomercial masquerading as a documentary, right before the election represents a clear violation of its charter to provide fair and balanced information to the public.

$22 million reasons...
