I guess we are part of the "vacationing" South - Hoot Owls and Bobcats

I saw a face I thought I would not see again. She'd been torn up one year, but disappeared. I always fed her.

The next year, she looked better, and camped out waiting to get leftovers, until I realized she was wanting her own. I have her something special since my own fat girl was well asleep inside.

I had no idea where she had gone - it's been two years.

She was sitting right in the middle of the patio, where I always put the food bowl for my cat and the 'guests' that do not include raccoons, and I watch, like she was waiting.

So I fed her. She sat there as blasé as though she remembered from two years ago.

Isn't that odd?

Just a plain old bobcat I thought would never survive. (well, maybe not *that* plain) She did, and here she is a few years later, waiting. Completely inadvisable to approach, might I point out - I never do, just give the gifts and walk away - learned the hard way from damn raccoons.

And then there is the Hoot Owl that once again sits in the pear tree and hoots at me, scaring the crap out of me, but then hoots right back. It's so weird to be in the same place for so long!

The United States is NOT a Developed Country by Western Standards

Because we lack universal health care, tuition caps so that students aren't strapped until they 35 or 40 for daring to get an education, care for veterans, and a sound safety net.

By those standards, it really shouldn't surprise you. We aren't a "Developed Country."

That has occurred to me over the last couple of days.

We have decaying infrastructure, are focused purely on military spending above all else, and have an intrusive and militarized police force.

We have a lot of supposed "social trimmings". But a piece of candy isn't the same as being part of a society that takes care of each other. Takes care of our elderly, our children, values education, and takes care of our veterans instead of making new ones.

Explain to me why we are not a "Developed Country", because in all of those respects, we are most certainly not. We need to ask ourselves why we are not, before we can move towards how we can become a developed country again.

Today is my birthday, and would you believe even my neighbor got me something?

She remembered that I love carrot cake and made me one.

I have some steaks to cook along with some angel hair pasta and salad, and it is damn near embarrassing how blessed I feel.

The Hillary fan club is running scared and getting folks banned

It is as plain as day. They have stepped up the campaign of aggressive messages, and we need to be careful. They are going to be trying to get folks banned for anything they can, minor or not.

My suggestion to everybody, be polite while rejecting "Hillary is winning" BS. Huge push to that effect that I do not believe in the slightest.

Wow. I've been called a Yankee and NOW "Mr. Aerows" a man.

and now have been called a man.

This is the weirdest week I can imagine.

Seriously? A Yankee AND a man?

Mr. Aerows, REALLY?

I have to laugh - I was accused of being a Yankee.

Now if this world isn't upside down, I don't quite know what to do with that.
