Answer is: Why is Obama looking so strong in Ohio?
When Mitt Romney campaigns in Ohio on Monday afternoon, hell do so in a state where he has some work to do. Recent polling has shown President Obama holding a slight lead in the Buckeye State, which has long been considered a must-have for Romney to win the White House in November.
If Obama wins Ohio, Romney will have to defy history to win the White House: No Republican has ever been elected president without carrying the Buckeye State. There is still plenty of time for Republicans to turn the tables (and we should underscore that the race remains very close), but right now, the president has put himself in a good position to claim the states 18 electoral votes.
So why is Obama doing as well as he is in Ohio particularly when compared to other 2008 swing states? (Check out this chart we posted last week comparing swing state performance between 2008 and 2012 for Obama.)
Everything in this election starts and ends with the economy, and Ohio is no exception. And, things are looking up in the Buckeye State. The unemployment rate in July was 7.2 percent, about a point below the national average. And its down from where it was about two years ago, when 10.6 percent of the state was out of work.

Gov. Jerry Brown to GOP: 'Get out of the way'
Gov. Jerry Brown on Sunday took to the national airwaves to weigh in on the presidential election, arguing that President Obama had laid a foundation for economic recovery and that the country would be better off if Republicans would get out of the way.
Maybe I know too much about this stuff, but were in a recovery, a slow recovery, and it'll keep recovering with any luck, Brown said on CNNs State of the Union. And if the Republicans would get out of the way and let, you know, the stimulus and the investment go forward, such as the Democrats have proposed, we'll be better off.
Brown, who campaigned for governor as a political mediator, has taken a harder public line against the GOP since failing to win a single Republican vote last year for his plan to place taxes on the ballot. Now, he is taking his case directly to voters, having qualified a November ballot measure, Proposition 30, to raise taxes to help close the states deficit.
On Sunday, he said California voters face a choice not unlike the one they face in the presidential contest: investment or retrenchment. This is just math now, Brown said, echoing former President Bill Clintons emphasis on arithmetic during his speech at last weeks Democratic National Convention.

FORECAST: Senate takeover unlikely ...
Even Republicans are saying it: The GOP Senate takeover they all thought was almost a sure thing a year ago now looks like a coin flip at best.
POLITICO surveyed more than a dozen top Republican strategists last week to gauge the partys outlook for the upper chamber coming out of the conventions and into the election home stretch. None called the task impossible, but most said the path to the Senate majority is much narrower than even a few months ago.
The diminished mood is a product of unforeseen events like Maine Sen. Olympia Snowes surprise retirement and underwhelming candidates.
North Dakota and Montana, once thought to be fairly easy pickups for Republicans, have remained stubbornly close, thanks to weaker-than-expected GOP contenders and strong Democratic campaigns. Missouris been moved out of the sure-win column after Todd Akins debacle. And the GOPs once-high hopes in New Mexico and Hawaii are fading as the party confronts daunting blue-state demographics.

Yes, he thinks we are stupid ...
Another day, another Romney whopper. Now he says that hell keep the good parts of Obamacare, in particular coverage for people with pre-existing conditions, while scrapping the rest.
You cant do that and Romney knows very well that you cant do that, because the logic that went into Romneycare in Massachusetts is the same as the logic behind Obamacare.
Suppose you want to guarantee that insurance is available to people with pre-existing conditions. Well, you can establish community rating, requiring that insurance companies make the same policies available to everyone. But if you stop there, you know what will happen: healthy people will opt out, leaving behind a high-risk, high-cost pool.
So you have to also have a mandate, requiring that people buy insurance. And you cant do that without subsidies, so that lower-income people can afford their policies.

The worlds richest woman has equated Australias minimum wage to class warfare, following her controversial article last week where she called poor workers coddled, lazy drunks. Australian billionaire Gina Rinehart, who inherited her $30 billion fortune and mining empire, pointed to workers who make less than $2 as a model for economic competitiveness in mining:

Charts that prove we are better off ...
The Romney campaign this week is basing its message off of former President Reagans are you better off? question from his 1980 campaign, even though Romney himself admitted in an interview earlier this year that of course [the economy is] getting better under President Obama. And the numbers dont lie.
While the economy is only recovering slowly, the trend lines when it comes to jobs, wealth, and the success of American business are all moving in the right direction, as these charts by the Center for American Progress Action Funds Christian Weller show:
