City of Tucson and Hotels Are Teaming To Help Homeless Threatened by COVID-19 Outbreak
by Austin Counts
April 17, 2020
The City of Tucson is rolling out a new program today using local hotels to provide shelter and isolation for the homeless exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms or who are at high risk for contracting the disease.
The program currently has a total of 315 rooms, split between two hotels. One hotel will have 115 rooms dedicated to homeless people already ill and the other will offer 200 rooms for those who may be at high-risk, such as elderly homeless people, said Liz Morales, Director of City of Tucsons Housing & Community Development Department.
It has taken a lot of coordination but we are moving people from our shelters that are either symptomatic or at very high risk based on their age or underlying health conditions, Morales said. We have a screening tool that allows us to identify what category they meet, and then we move them based on that criteria.

This from my contacts in SW MO.
Now as many of us know, that is a major red area of the country. And some are following the orange one's way of thinking.
However, some Republicans I still chat with via FB are taking social distancing to wild extremes.
6 feet is not good enough, they're going for 6 miles. And others you may want to not get near their property altogether because they say they will shoot.
So to all those Republicans that are saying we Democrats are taking this social distancing too far, take a look at some of your party first.

Need some info..
There is talk that Tucson is relaxing about letting homeless sleep in parks to make it easier for us to shelter in place.
Need to find if it is true and will they have certain parks and will they open up the bathrooms in these parks.
Been trying to look up in Google, but can't seem to find the latest news. Earliest news found it a couple of days old.
HELP!
Dumba$$ Conway proves she don't know anything.
Kellyanne Conway: "This is COVID-19, not COVID-1 folks, and so you would think the people in charge of the World Health Organization, facts and figures, would be on top of that."

This is ticking me off.
Found a nice dark alley. Even have trash cans to conceal me and a wall socket to charge my phone.
And right now there is a couple of kids, I'd say 10 feet away give or take, making out!
Hello? What part of "6 feet apart" don't you understand?
Guess I'll just put some earbuds in and stay quiet. They got to go away sooner or later.
I really don't know if I'm going to make it through this latest challenge.
First, get diagnosed with MS, then end up homeless, and now trying not to get COVID-19.
Add to it all the slow down of everything.....
I'm scared, cold, but at least I have SNAP so I can eat.
Have a cough for a year now and I have found it to keep the more nasty people away. Never thought, when it first started, it would end up being something to help keep me out of trouble.
Having issues with keeping up with doctor appointments. And COVID-19 is now slowing down my fight with social security over my SSI.
And now I can't get my phone to let me file to get a stimulation check.
I will admit that everything together is wearing me down.
Can't file for the stimulats on my cell phone.
The button I need to hit is cut off on my screen tried making everything small, but still blocked. Going to try calling the IRS to see if they can help.
Man, can't get a break....
Homeless are getting hit pretty hard by this viruse.
We have a place called Z mansion and the UofA is teaming up to help. https://www.kgun9.com/news/coronavirus/uarizona-medical-students-help-homeless-during-covid-10-pandemic
Also Primavera is trying to get masks to the homeless they can. Not easy to do with how masks are in such demand.
But there is no real openings in shelters right now. So the homeless is definitely in the cross hairs of this viruse.
Guess who's back.... back again....
In hiding to keep from getting sick. So what have I missed?
