I'd like to repeal the Second Amendment now.

And gas bombs, riot gear and explosives, too.

Wait, those are already banned.

It took just one asteroid to kill the dinosaurs.

How many have hit Robbedme's campaign so far? Let's count 'em.

Retailers who encourage cash purchases over credit will suffer a crime wave. Count on it.

If more people start using cash over credit card or credit card-backed ATMs, thieves and robbers will take notice. They'll notice the stores with more cash in their drawers and they'll come armed to rob them at gunpoint.

Cash draws thieves. Fact of history, fact of human nature, fact of crime. More cash draws more thieves.

The sun brings light, bears shit in the woods, and a nationwide rise in cash purchases means a rise in robberies and thefts. Guaranteed.

Bomb kills men at heart of Assad rule as Syria fight rages

BEIRUT/AMMAN (Reuters) - A suicide bomber killed three of Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's top military officials on Wednesday, security sources said, the worst blow to Assad's high command in the country's 16-month-old rebellion.

The bomb killed Assad's powerful brother-in-law, the defense minister and a top general, bringing the battle to the heart of Assad's powerbase and sparking fighting across Damascus.

Residents, fearing fierce retaliation by Assad's forces, said army helicopters fired machineguns and in some cases rockets at several residential districts. Television footage showed rebels storming a security base in southern Damascus.

"The most revolutionary thing Occupy has done is piss on the sidewalk" Really?

Someone from here just made this comment about Occupy. Do you agree?

Lawmakers Want ‘Made in China’ U.S. Olympic Uniforms Burned

Lawmakers were outraged Thursday after an ABC World News report revealed that the U.S. Olympic team’s opening ceremony outfits are made in China. Some suggested making a bonfire with the outfits, which include berets and blazers.

“I think they should take all the uniforms, put them in a big pile and burn them and start all over again,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said when asked by ABC News today, “If they have to wear nothing but a singlet that says USA on it, painted by hand, that is what they should wear.”

Outsourcing and H1B's... the hits just keep on coming.

Fortunately it seems for once that these hits are being felt by the outsourcers, not us.

Bangalore, Stymied by the Visa Shortage, Hires in the U.S.

MindTree (MTCL), an Indian outsourcing specialist from Bangalore, has 11,000 employees doing work for customers in banking, insurance, and other industries. Most are in India. But since the company sometimes wants those workers to be close to the clients, MindTree has 850 employees in the U.S., working in 36 different states. Some are U.S. citizens or green card holders, but about 60 percent have entered the country on one of two types of work visas. With the U.S. unemployment rate higher than 8 percent, and Indian outsourcing already an issue in the presidential election, those visas are getting harder to secure. “Rejection rates are way up,” says Scott Staples, president of MindTree’s U.S. operation. “It’s so much harder to get visas approved.”

.......

Companies are pushing the Obama administration to ease up—and they’re enlisting corporate allies in the U.S. In March, 64 companies, including Boeing (BA), Procter & Gamble (PG), General Electric (GE), and Microsoft (MSFT), wrote to President Obama about “unprecedented delays” caused by what they called “an inconsistent and improperly narrowed definition” of what constitutes the type of specialized knowledge needed for an L-1B visa. The stricter interpretation of the rules dates back to early 2011, says Jay Ruby, a partner in Atlanta with Ogletree Deakins, the third-largest immigration law firm in the U.S. With the new definition of specialized knowledge, he says, the government is “essentially restricting eligibility to a handful of people.”

Indian companies are considering such alternatives as employing more locals. Tata hired 1,600 people in the U.S. last year, up from 1,200 in 2010. With the unemployment rate high, the pressure on visas is “inevitable,” says MindTree’s Staples, who predicts a decline in the company’s use of work visas. MindTree plans to hire 400 people at a new center in Gainesville, Fla., and Staples expects to open more centers in the U.S. “If visas become harder to get,” he says, “we have the ability to accelerate that.”

'Made In America' Policies Hugely Popular, Survey Shows. Free traders, CAN YOU HEAR US NOW???

While President Obama and Mitt Romney bicker over whose policies will send more jobs overseas, there is one side of the job creation coin that both candidates agree on: that the government should do its darndest to keep manufacturing jobs in America.

Unlike many of the job proposals both candidates are pushing, "Buy America" policies that encourage the government to buy products that are made in the U.S. whenever possible are hugely popular across party lines, according to a national survey commissioned by the Alliance for American Manufacturing and the United Steelworkers.

"On the federal level if we can expose where we can see tax dollars leaking overseas we can reverse it because there is the political will to do that," said Scott Paul, the executive director of the Alliance for American Manufacturing.

Overwhelming majorities of people from all political parties said they supported "Buy America" policies that would mandate that taxpayer money can only be used on goods that were made in America.

Let's just say the impossible happens and Rmoney survives Baingate(s).

If you were managing President Obama's campaign, what would you do next?

Me, I would have made this a war on two fronts - 1/2 air time with the top-rated Rmoney-bashing ad that's running now, and 1/2 air time touting Obama's successes, such as greater job creation than any Republican, etc.

I'd also be hammering Rmoney with his dismal job creation in Massachusetts. 47th place, damn.

These attacks would be going simultaneously, and Obama's job creation record would rise to 75% ad share once Rmoney either survived Baingate or Baingate got old. Then I'd ramp up Rmoney's "47th in job creation" attack ads, mixing this with his "I'm a business man, I create jobs" speech, eventually giving this 50% ad share.

Curb stomp Rmoney's campaign, and if he gets back up, make it a double tap.

I remember when 'protectionism' used to be a dirty word.

It used to hurt being on the unpopular side of this issue.

Thank you, Bain Capital and Mitt Robbedme, for destroying what little remained of America's support for outsourcing. Now you've served your purpose, it's time to go away.
