Good news, bad news, good news

Good- my youngest turned 6 a few days back and the same day we found his grandfather does not have Alzheimer

Bad- his strange actions are due to a brain tumor

Good-the initial indications are he is a good candidate for cyberknife treatment and there is a facility within walking distance. It is a pretty amazing process as described. The hospital is doing a biopsy to confirm he can get this treatment. We have our fingers crossed...

Nope

Exactly one (1) person has been struck by an extraterrestrial object in recorded history and she lived. If a big one comes, the earth is quite large. Odds are it will hit somewhere I am not.

I did hear a RWinger frothing that space stuff is more of a threat to humans than global warming. He scared me more than the meteor.

Dayton defends budget, endorses same-sex marriage in annual State of the State address

Dayton also endorsed legal same-sex marriage in his speech, in remarks likely to echo through the Capitol if lawmakers take up the issue this spring as widely expected.

While acknowledging the issue is "controversial," Dayton said he believes "every Minnesotan should have the freedom to marry legally the person she or he loves, whether of the same or other sex."

While Dayton has previously endorsed legal same-sex marriage, he had been reluctant to wholeheartedly endorse a legislative push on the issue in 2013. Including it in his State of the State speech is likely to hearten activists preparing to push the issue at the Capitol.

After defeating a "marriage definition" amendment in November it looks like Dayton may try a push for equality. Things could get interesting in MN this spring. Hopefully the votes can come together and get it done.
