Happy holidays and a great new year to all my gun owner friends.

I hope the new year strengthens your rights and brings a reduction in gun violence, the best of outcomes.

I would like to say thanks to those who

have to be away from home on the holidays.
The long haul truckers and the military and the medical staff and the retail workers and anyone else who is alone this holiday season.
I remember my Christmas in Vietnam in 1968 and a few Christmases when I was alone without friends or family around.
One year I was jobless and we were losing our home. We had no money for Christmas and on Christmas Eve we walked around the neighborhood looking into the windows of those celebrating then crying ourselves to sleep

One of the requirements to end the Cuban

embargo the right is talking about is that labor unions be permitted to form in Cuba.
Yet the right is killing the unions in this country.

I just watched an Atlas V missile lauch

from Vandenberg AFB. You can watch it from the ground going up into the sky from my house. It is a secret mission tonight.

So where does the money come from to run

a real progressive? Shouldn't that problem be resolved soon?
If a progressive was going to support regulation and middle class issues surely Wall Street isn't going to fund their campaign.
We would have to step up and pay for it. That should begin now.
I think anyone who wants to see a progressive on the ticket should pledge money and pledge to vote.
Ready for Hillary is getting donations now.

What does going forward mean?

We knew Bush and Cheney were lying about WMDs. We knew the Iraq war was about oil. We learned about Abu Ghraib years ago. We knew the war was off the books. We knew about secret rendition. I don't think any of us thought that this torture report was going to be anything other than what it is.
Going forward to me is not about not holding Bush, Cheney and the CIA accountable.
It is about not being able to rub the right wing's noses in the shit they created and supported.

Advisory: WET AND WINDY WEATHER PATTERN EXPECTED FOR SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA THURSDAY AND FRIDAY
Dear Nixle User,
SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT...CORRECTED
NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE LOS ANGELES/OXNARD CA
809 PM PST MON DEC 8 2014

A PERIOD OF MODERATE TO HEAVY RAINFALL IS EXPECTED OVER THE AREA THURSDAY AND FRIDAY AS A STRONG AND COLD LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM OVER THE EASTERN PACIFIC OCEAN MOVES OVER THE REGION. RAINFALL TOTALS WILL RANGE FROM 1 TO 2 INCHES FOR COASTAL AND VALLEY LOCATIONS...TO 2 TO 4 INCHES ACROSS THE FOOTHILLS AND MOUNTAINS BETWEEN THURSDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT.

THE HIGHEST RAINFALL AMOUNTS WILL OCCUR ACROSS SAN LUIS OBISPO AND SANTA BARBARA COUNTIES...ESPECIALLY SOUTH AND SOUTHWEST FACING SLOPES. SINCE THIS STORM SYSTEM HAS THE POTENTIAL FOR GREATER DYNAMICS AND INSTABILITY... AS COMPARED TO LAST WEEKS SYSTEM ... RAINFALL RATES AROUND ONE HALF INCH PER HOUR WILL BE
POSSIBLE WITH THE FRONT. AFTER THE COLD FRONT PASSAGE...COLDER AIR ALOFT WITH THE STORM SYSTEM COULD RESULT IN ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS...POTENTIALLY PRODUCING LOCALIZED RAINFALL RATES IN EXCESS OF ONE HALF INCH PER HOUR.

RAINFALL RATES OF THIS INTENSITY COULD BRING A THREAT OF FLASH FLOODING ALONG WITH MUD AND DEBRIS FLOWS IN AND NEAR RECENT BURN AREAS.

GUSTY SOUTH TO SOUTHWEST WINDS WILL LIKELY DEVELOP AHEAD OF THE FRONT.

THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR DAMAGING WIND GUSTS FOR THE MOUNTAINS AS WELL AS THE FOOTHILLS OF SANTA BARBARA AND SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTIES...WHERE WIND GUSTS IN EXCESS OF 60 MPH MAY OCCUR.

ELSEWHERE... WINDY CONDITIONS WILL LIKELY DEVELOP AHEAD OF THE FRONT WITH WIND GUSTS UP TO 50 MPH IN SOME LOCATIONS SOUTH OF POINT CONCEPTION AND ALONG THE CENTRAL COAST. TREES...TREE LIMBS...AND POWER LINES MAY BE DOWNED BY THE STRONG SOUTHERLY WINDS. DANGEROUS CROSS WINDS WILL LIKELY DEVELOP FOR MOTORISTS TRAVELING ACROSS THE AREA...ESPECIALLY FOR THOSE DRIVING HIGH-PROFILE VEHICLES.

THE SNOW LEVEL WILL BE NEAR 8500 FEET ON THURSDAY NIGHT THEN DROP TO NEAR 5000 FEET BY FRIDAY EVENING. THERE IS A CHANCE THAT THE SNOW LEVEL COULD FALL AS LOW AS 4000 FEET...POSSIBLY IMPACTING TRAVEL NEAR THE TEJON PASS ON INTERSTATE 5 DUE TO ACCUMULATING SNOW.
WHILE IT IS STILL UNCERTAIN...SHOWERS DEVELOPING BEHIND THE COLD FRONT COULD BRING A FEW INCHES OF SNOW TO SOME AREA MOUNTAIN LOCATIONS ABOVE 5000 FEET.

IF TRAVELING THROUGH MOUNTAINS ON FRIDAY AND FRIDAY NIGHT...WINTRY DRIVING CONDITIONS COULD DEVELOP.

RESIDENTS OF SOUTHWEST CALIFORNIA...ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO LIVE NEAR THE RECENT BURN AREAS...SUCH AS THE COLBY AND SPRINGS BURN AREAS...SHOULD MONITOR THE LATEST NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE FORECASTS AND STATEMENTS ABOUT THIS POTENTIALLY SIGNIFICANT STORM SYSTEM.

LISTEN TO NOAA WEATHER RADIO OR YOUR FAVORITE LOCAL MEDIA OUTLET FOR THE LATEST UPDATES ON THIS STORM SYSTEM.
