I'm 65
and growing up biracial with a sister that had blond hair, pale skin and me being the color of the child in the video.....well to say the least about it, both blacks and whites made it difficult for us. You are in better times, although with the fear mongering of the racist right, I fear that portion of the populace whining about the cheerios commercial and REALITY will always be with us. I just hope they can be marginalized somehow. 
At my age, now, I finally appreciate my mixed genetic/racial heritage.
update on Dawn
she is still in intensive care. Has regained consciousness, has a broken back, but still has movement. Has numerous contusions, some internal organ damage. Concussion. It was a hit and run driver. She is responding to family. Thanks for thoughts and prayers. Forgive me if this comes up twice in threads, wasn't sure if I posted right earlier. I deleted one post. But thanks again.
what a day
my friend who moved to Florida for her health was riding a bicycle and was hit by a car. People send good thoughts/prayers to Dawn. She is in real bad shape, not expected to make it.. Lost my house today also, Been fighting to get an upside down load modified since I was forced out my job at the Post Office in 2009. Ocwen/HSBC wouldn't work with me. I'm handicapped and take care of a lot of stray animals. I'm devastated today.

go to inquisitr.com and listen to a papa john employee pissed at the tip he got. Doesn't surprise me given location and company that gave so much guff about Obamacare for their employees. Portions of This country's populace have a real sickness of hate.
gun violence
7 kids under the age of 15 were shot to death in Atlanta last week- times 4 = 28- times 12 =.....well my message is yes the gun violence has to stop. How can slaughter like this and in Newtown be stopped with 300 million privately owned and/or stolen and illegal guns in our society? It almost seems like it's impossible. That's just my take.
