Education articles like this piss me off so much
http://news.yahoo.com/asian-nations-dominate-international-test-100159386.html
American students once again lag behind many of their Asian and European peers on a global exam, a continuing trend that often is blamed on child poverty and a diverse population in U.S. schools.
Education Secretary Arne Duncan called the results a "picture of educational stagnation" as U.S. students showed little improvement over three years, failing to score in the top 20 on math, reading or science.
Students in Shanghai, China's largest city, had the top scores in all subjects, and Singapore, South Korea, Japan and Hong Kong students weren't far behind. Even Vietnam, which had its students participate for the first time, had a higher average score in math and science than the United States.
These results again raise the question of whether the United States is consistently outperformed because of the widely varied backgrounds of its students. Some are from low-income households, for example. Others don't have English as their primary language.
As an A-level and IGCSE teacher in China, these results are to be expected. The education here is to teach to a test. Same when I was in Korea. All students are taught to a test.
Chinese schools do not fail students. Lowest grade a kid can get is a 70. If they get lower, they keep taking the same test until they pass it, then that score is recorded. The schools encourage teachers (usually with classes of 60 - 70) to teach to only the kids who care and are not asleep in class. Social promotion is the norm, as is lying about grades. All that matters in China is Gao Kao. The Chemistry teacher in my school goes nuts because they cannot conceptualize a simple chemistry concept. I teach Geography and History. Same in my classes, especially history.
I taught in the crappiest public school in Hebei province and now in one of the best international school in Suzhou. Education in Asia teaches to to a test. They are some of the best test takers in the world. Knowledge retention, conceptual development, abstract thinking, critical analysis and innovation are impossible for most students here. The test is most important. I hate articles like this. TESTS DO NOT SHOW THE ENTIRE STORY!!!
Top Ten Conservative Idiots of the Week (Graphic Warning on #6)

[font style="font-size:1.539em; text-transform:uppercase;"]The Slimmed down EDITION[/font]
Okay, its the week of Thanksgiving. Apparently, conservative idiots cant do stupid things and speak moronically while filling their face with turkey, celebrating the sanitized holiday that honors invading white people killing off the native populations. Happy Thanksgiving, all. But, some still manage to dumb or say some crap. Congressional Republicans (1) are worthless, Mitch McConnell (3) is brainless, Bob McDonnell (7) is jobless , Pizza Hut (9) is shameless and Sarah Palin (10) is clueless. And as always, don't forget the key. Remember, you can run your mouse over the icon to see what it means.

Its now December and its time to look at everything the Republicans have done or allowed to be done this year in Congress. Hint: It isnt much.

There's a chance Congress may not pass its annual defense spending bill or address sexual assaults in the military by the end of this year, either.
Yes. . .because naming a public outhouse is more important than dealing with issues that are destroying the planet, country and the economy.
And everyone knows sexual assaults arent real because she was wearing a tight skirt. Besides, she wont get pregnant because the body has protections and shut-off valves in case of legitimate rape. And everyone know no rape is legitimate.
Their approval rating is five points higher than crotch rot and they earned every point of it. Worst. Congress. Ever!

[div style="display:inline-block; padding-left:0.3077em;" title="Loser"]
One of the reasons Congress sucks as much as it does is because of Speaker of the House, John the Ohio Tearduct Boehner.
You see, Orange Glo has a problem. The tea party Congressmen dont trust him, his leadership team doesnt like him and most, if not all, Democrats dont respect him. Politically, he is impotent. Professionally, hes past his prime. But he still gives off that Orange Goodness through those massive tear stains on his face.
Anyway, according to Mother Jones:
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Over the past month, the House and Senate have been working to come up with a compromise farm billthe five-year piece of legislation that funds agriculture and nutrition programs. The main sticking point is the level of cuts to the food stamp program. House Republicans want to cut $40 billion from the program, while the Senate wants to trim $4 billion. Last week, the talks fell apart, and the two sides are fighting over why.
Wow. Maybe that near negative number approval rating isnt justified. There is working in the two chamber to help farmers. Usually farm bills are loaded with more pork than a ham sandwich, but the working together is a start.
Maybe Speaker Tearduct will help the process.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]A Democratic aide tells Mother Jones that House Speaker John Boehner shot down several informal compromise farm bill proposals because the food stamps cuts were not deep enough. Boehner's spokesman denies this.
Oh, not surprised. Speaker Worthless McOrangetears needs to balance the budget on the backs of the poorest, most vulnerable of Americans. And of course (to quote the Young Turks) Orange Crushs mouthpiece denies it. Cant do anything to make the boss look worse. HE does a good enough job of that himself.
Please continue.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]The Democratic aide says the joint House-Senate panel that is trying to work out a deal presented Boehner with a few proposals that contained food stamps levels close to what the Senate wants. Even though Rep. Frank Lucas (R-Okla.)the chairman of the House agriculture committee and a top member of the compromise panelwas willing to give a lot of ground to the Senate on food stamps, he says, Boehner rejected the proposals. "Boehner is playing spoiler," he adds. "That's why fell apart."
So there was compromise. There was working together. There was bipartisanship. And the Speaker of the House screwed it all up.
2014 is coming and November is a long time away. One wonders how tissue and vodka sales will be around Boehners office the day The Worst Speaker in the History of Forever has to give the gavel back to the Best Speaker in the History of Forever, Madame Nancy Pelosi.

"I accept that the refusal to comply with this greedy, immoral request means the end of my tenure with this company," he says he wrote. "I hope you realize that it is the people at the bottom of the totem pole that make your life possible."
Wow! I wish I knew this guy. What a model citizen! And a model leader. He fell on the sword for his fellow employees against an act of corporate tyranny and greed.
This crap gets worse as the restaurant Rohr worked at went into full on spin mode.

To quote George Takei: Oh My!
That poorly huh? Didnt conservative website buy this book in bulk to shore up the sales so she would be on the best sellers list with an asterisk??? No. . .time to sink or swim on your own, Sister Sarah.

Ms. Palin was nowhere to be seen in the top 100, while right wing entertainers Rush Limbaugh and Glenn Beck scored big.

That does not sound too uplifting. Maybe there is a better one?

Sure, Rob Delaney has been named the Funniest Person on Twitter by Comedy Central and one of the 50 Funniest People by Rolling Stone, according to his website. But lets face it no one is funnier than Sarah Palin. She doesnt even have to try. After all, theyre claiming she wrote this in English punkd, because we can tell by the bitterness that it came from the very angry person that is Sarah Palin.

So, the Democrats finally did it. They dipped the filibuster ball into manure and shoved it down the throats of the GOP. Of course, there is self-righteous indignation on that side over it (1). In other news, the Miami Gardens PD is racist (3), as are Young Texas Conservatives (4), Michelle Bachmann is insane (6), filthy rich CEOs hate the old (9) and the two largest American businesses hate their employees (10). And as always, don't forget the key. Remember, you can run your mouse over the icon to see what it means.

He finally did it. Harry Reid let that little cancerous tumor he has develop into a fully functioning backbone. After years of threats, letters and pretty much selling the farm to the Republicans, Harry Reid instituted the nuclear option. No more filibusters of judicial nominees. Straight up or down votes. Amazing, isnt it? The Republicans have had their one weapon of obstruction taken from them. Now, American people wont have to listen to how a nominees for the bench needs to be blocked because some old, white, fat Republican senator feels slighted because his viagra isnt working or his mistress didnt have sex with him the night before or just because its Tuesday.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]The Senate voted on Thursday to eliminate the use of the filibuster against most presidential nominees, a move that will break the Republican blockade of President Obamas picks to cabinet posts and the federal judiciary. The change is the most fundamental shift in the way the Senate functions in more than a generation.
The vote was one that members of both parties had threatened for the better part of a decade, but had always stopped short of carrying out. This time, with little left of the bipartisan spirit that helped seal compromises on filibuster rule changes in the past, there was no last-minute deal to be struck.
The vote was 52 to 48.
So, what did Republicans have to say? Well, lets look at the things Republicans had to say about judicial nominee obstruction when George W. Bush was pResident. It should be enlightening.

Any Presidents judicial nominees should receive careful consideration. But after that debate, they deserve a simple up-or-down vote (5/19/05).
Let's get back to the way the Senate operated for over 200 years, up or down votes on the president's nominee, no matter who the president is, no matter who's in control of the Senate (5/22/05).
2. John Cornyn (TX)
[F]ilibusters of judicial nominations are uniquely offensive to our nations constitutional design (6/4/03).
[M]embers of this distinguished body have long and consistently obeyed an unwritten rule not to block the confirmation of judicial nominees by filibuster. But, this Senate tradition, this unwritten rule has now been broken and it is crucial that we find a way to ensure the rule wont be broken in the future (6/5/03).
3. Lamar Alexander (TN)
If there is a Democratic President and I am in this body, and if he nominates a judge, I will never vote to deny a vote on that judge (3/11/03).
I would never filibuster any President's judicial nominee. Period (6/9/05).
4. John McCain (AZ)
Ive always believed that [judicial nominees deserve yes-or-no votes]. There has to be extraordinary circumstances to vote against them. Elections have consequences (6/18/13).
5. Chuck Grassley (IA)
It would be a real constitutional crisis if we up the confirmation of judges from 51 to 60 (2/11/03).
[W]e cant find anywhere in the Constitution that says a supermajority is needed for confirmation (5/8/05).
6. Saxby Chambliss (GA)
I believe [filibustering judicial nominees] is in violation of the Constitution (4/13/05).
7. Lindsey Graham (SC)
I think filibustering judges will destroy the judiciary over time. I think its unconstitutional (5/23/05).
8. Johnny Isakson (GA)
I will vote to support a vote, up or down, on every nominee. Understanding that, were I in the minority party and the issues reversed, I would take exactly the same position because this document, our Constitution, does not equivocate (5/19/05).
James Inhofe (OK)
This outrageous grab for power by the Senate minority is wrong and contrary to our oath to support and defend the Constitution (3/11/03).
10. Mike Crapo (ID)
[T]he Constitution requires the Senate to hold up-or-down votes on all nominees (5/25/05).
11 . Richard Shelby (AL)
Why not allow the President to do his job of selecting judicial nominees and let us do our job in confirming or denying them? Principles of fairness call for it and the Constitution requires it (11/12/03).
Orrin Hatch (UT)
Filibustering judicial nominees unfair, dangerous, partisan, and unconstitutional (1/12/05).
Seriously? They actually said these things. Filibustering is bad when the Democrats do it to people like Harriest Miers and threaten it with people like Sam Alito and John Roberts who are completely unqualified, as is/was Clarence Justice Oops Thomas. But Republicans think its good when the president is a Democrat.

The document, the product of a series of closed-door strategy sessions that began in mid-October, is part of an increasingly organized Republican attack on the Affordable Care Act, President Obamas signature legislative initiative. Republican strategists say that over the next several months, they intend to keep Democrats on their heels through a multilayered, sequenced assault.
The idea is to gather stories of people affected by the health care law through social media, letters from constituents, or meetings during visits back home and use them to open a line of attack, keep it going until it enters the public discourse and forces a response, then quickly pivot to the next topic.
Lets go over the checklist of GOP political victories.

02: Womens right to vote - lost
03: Income Tax - lost
04: Environmental laws - lost

Living in China part 1 - Basic Chinese language lesson
Six years in the PRC, I am pretty much fluent in the language. Still working on the writing part of the language, but speaking and reading is pretty good now.
In China, if you can read about 1,000 characters, you can read a newspaper with ease. So, let's begin with the lesson.
Writing Chinese is rather simple. I will use Simplified Mandarin because I am on the Mainland and not in Taiwan or Hong Kong.
There are three basic rules:
01: Left before right
02: Top before bottom
03: Outside before inside
Let's take a simple character 口. That's "kou," and it means mouth or opening.
To write it correctly it's very simple.
01: write the left down stroke first.
02. write the top stroke and the right down stroke next without lifting the pen
03. fill in the box.
Let's take another. 江 which means "river." This is jiang (pronounced gee-on-guh).
01: write the three dashes first top to bottom
02: write the top stroke
03: write the downward stroke
04: write the bottom stroke
Stroke order is extremely important in the language. Trust me, Chinese people can tell if the character was written in the correct order by looking at it. It's a bit frustrating for beginners, but you pick it up quickly.
Practice with these ten simple one:
见 - jian, means look
十, shi (pronounced sure), means ten
太, tai (pronounced tie), abverb too
火, huo (pronounced who-oh), means fire
公, gong, means public
女, nv (the v should be a u with an umlaut over it), means woman
三, san, means three
小, xiao (pronounced she-ow), means small
大, da, means big
园, yuan, means garden
Mandarin is not a difficult language, except for the tones. The thing is, when people talk, I don't hear the tones at all. I just hear the speaking. What makes it easier is context. If someone is talking about men, 男 (nan) means man. They don't mean 南 (nan) which means south.
It is getting colder here in Suzhou. What is amazing is the sea convection currents around here. Shanghai, no matter the weather conditions, during the day, is always five degrees warmer than here in Suzhou, which is less than 30 miles away.

Sometimes, the rush to be first isnt always the best way to run a news media outfit. Because in the rush to be first, usually the responsiblity to be correct is thrown into the trashcan. 60 Minutes is proof of that. Last week, 60 minutes ran a nice little Screw Obama piece on the right wings favorite manfactured scandal, Benghazi. Of course, right wing idiots everywhere watched this piece Lara Logan ran and then promptly blew their wad over their photos of Rush Limbaugh, Ted Cruz and Sarah Palin (not that theres anything wrong with that. . .right loser in Virginia Ken Cuccinelli).
They have Obama by the short hairs now. Time to put the Communist, Socialist, Fascist, Black Empowerment Kenyan to sleep forever! IMPEACHMENT TIME!!! Climb on the High Crimes and Misdermeanors bandwagon.
Everything was going smoothly until some guys, a know nothing named Dylan Davies, threw water on the fire and began to ruin all of the right wings Obama slamming buzz. This is important because he is the man source of this story.

The contradictions between the versions offered in the incident report and what was presented on television and in the book Mr. Davies appeared on the program and wrote the book under the pseudonym Morgan Jones have led to questions about how 60 Minutes came to present Mr. Davies as a credible source for its extensive report on the Benghazi incident.
The incident report described Mr. Davies as remaining at the villa he occupied in Libya and not getting to the scene on the night of the attack. In the version he wrote in his book and gave to 60 Minutes, Mr. Davies said he left the villa that night to visit a hospital, where he said he saw the body of the deceased ambassador, J. Christopher Stevens, and twice rushed to the scene of the attack.
Umm. . .him. So, the source of this piece never wrote it and never said it? Really? No matter, hes just one source. Surely, its not all bad.

The report comes as CBS News discloses that a "journalistic review" of the heavily criticized October 27 segment, which featured a since-discredited "witness" and promoted his book on the attacks without disclosing that the book was published by a CBS division. CBS has declined to explain who is conducting that review, how it is being conducted, and whether its findings will be public.
During the segment, correspondent Lara Logan made a number of claims about the attack and its perpetrators, often sourced only with the statement "e have learned" or with nothing at all. McClatchy News Middle East Bureau Chief Nancy Youssef's reporting suggests that these claims were also inaccurate. Given that the report's sources included a man whose account CBS News has already acknowledged was fraudulent, it's fair to question the sourcing of other claims in the report.
A full, complete, and independent investigation of the segment could provide answers to these and other questions about CBS News' reporting.
Oh shit. Sounds likes someone needs to get fired fast. So, what will CBS do? Well, after, at first, standing behind the story, the damned internets research came in and. . .Dammit to all hell, they are flat wrong. Time to apologize and retract.

The assault left four Americans dead, including Ambassador Christopher Stevens.
"In this case, we were wrong. We made a mistake," she said on "CBS This Morning." "That's disappointing for any journalist. It's very disappointing for me."
A primary source for the "60 Minutes" report on October 27 was a security contractor using the pseudonym "Morgan Jones," later identified as Dylan Davies. Davies told CBS he was able to reach the Benghazi compound on the night of September 11, 2012, scale a wall and even fight off a militant.
Questions need to be asked. Isnt this a massive conflict of interest need to be asked.

Logan and Burkett were both married to other people when they became involved, and the story of their war-zone love affaircomplete with reports of a brawl between Burkett and CNN's Michael Ware, another rival for Logan's affectionslit up the tabloids at the time.
"What most people dont know, however, is the nature of Burketts work in Iraq. He was an employee of the Lincoln Group, a now-shuttered strategic communications and public relations firm hired by the Department of Defense in 2005 to plant positive stories written by American soldiers in Baghdad newspapers during the Iraq War.
He did information operations, one former colleague of Burkett's told Gawker. It was really spooky stuff. We worked with one of those special spooky IO outfits that didnt even have a unit patch. It's the kind of work for which a close relationship with an American network correspondent might come in handy.
And it paid handsomely. Under an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract, the Pentagon promised the Lincoln Group up to $100,000,000 to assist the militarys Joint Psychological Operations with controlling local media coverage of the American occupation. In an interview with CNN late last month, Graham had cited the Davies interview while repeating his threat to block all of the president's nominations until survivors of the Benghazi attack testified before Congress.
"But the 60 Minutes story was not true," CNN's Candy Crowley noted on Sunday. "Will you now end your threat to place a hold on the president's nominees?"
"No, my request has been going on for a year to talk to the survivors," Graham insisted. "I never asked for the British contractor. I didn't know he existed."
Now what are you going to do, Lindsay? You need another thing to slam Obama on, disrupt the government and prove to everyone you arent just a racist ass passing off his racism as policy disagreements.

Darrell Issa (R-CA).
On the November 11 edition of CBS Evening News with Scott Pelley, correspondent Sharyl Attkisson reported on supposed "security risks" surrounding the law's exchange website, HealthCare.gov. Host Scott Pelley alleged that the project manager in charge of building the site "was apparently kept in the dark about serious failures in the website's security." Pelley speculated that this could eventually lead to "identity theft among people buying insurance.":
The basis for this report was a "partial transcript" obtained by CBS correspondent Attkisson and provided to her by House Oversight Chairman Rep. Issa.

CBS News reported Thursday that leaked versions sent out by the GOP last Friday had visible differences than Wednesday's official batch. Two correspondences that were singled out in the report came from National Security Adviser Ben Rhodes and State Department Spokeswoman Victoria Nuland.
The GOP version of Rhodes' comment, according to CBS News: "We must make sure that the talking points reflect all agency equities, including those of the State Department, and we don't want to undermine the FBI investigation."
The White House email: "We need to resolve this in a way that respects all of the relevant equities, particularly the investigation."
So, lets recap:
01: CBS files a bullshit story with an even more bullshit source.
02: The right wing eats up this bullshit and wants to impeach Obama on their bullshit scandal.
03: When the bullshit is too strong, they issue a bullshit apology.

05: All the while, not understand that bullshit like this is what makes most Americans think the news media is complete bullshit.

Issa claimed in his release, sent after 7 p.m. on Veterans Day, that the official in charge of running the health care exchanges -- or the "Federal Facilitated Marketplaces" -- found it "disturbing" to have not seen a Sept. 3 memo that seemed to indicate six security risks, including two deemed to be high.
Indeed, Henry Chao, the deputy chief information officer and deputy director of the Office of Information Services at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), acknowledged in a Nov. 1 interview with Issa's committee investigators that it was disturbing he hadn't seen the memo and appeared to have been excluded.
But Democratic committee staff pointed out that the memo talks about two specific systems: the "Qualified Health Plans (QHP) and Dental modules." CMS told the Oversight Committee that the relevant parts of those programs will not be online until the spring, meaning they actually pose no security risk now, Democrats said. On top of that, the systems flagged as potentially posing a risk will be used by insurance companies and will not transmit people's personal information, they said.

There are many who have been aware of Scripture, and it has often been a guide in our relations with Israel, said Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX). Some of us believe that the Bible is accurate. Certainly, so many prophesies have been fulfilled, and if that is true, this administration, unless they can find a verse that accurately says that those who betray Israel will be blessed, then this country is being dug in a deeper hole by this administration and its betrayals of Israels trust and Israels friendship. Gohmert said President Barack Obama had urged Israel to enter into a nuclear nonproliferation treaty with other Middle Eastern nations, which he said would require the nation to disclose and give up its undeclared nuclear weapons. This was viewed and discussed as being the first time in peoples memory when the United States, by and through its administration the Obama administration had taken action that was very adverse to Israel and the international community, and particularly in the U.N., Gohmert told lawmakers. Normally we did not side with Israels enemies.
After the interview, Gohmert stoned an adulterer, sacrificed a goat to his God, killed a woman who wasnt a virgin when she got married and tried to turn someone from Sodom into salt. Then he built and ark and waited for the rain.

Ohio became the 25th state to join the expansion last month, and more states could still sign onto it. Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Corbett (R) has proposed an alternate form of expansion that would require federal approval, and Terry McAuliffe's election this week as Virginia's next governor increases the likelihood that his state will eventually expand the program. New Hampshire Gov. Maggie Hassan (D) has called a special legislative session this month to try to hammer out an expansion deal in her state.
But for now, according to the foundation, 4.8 million Americans won't be covered as the law intended in those non-expanding states. They don't qualify for Medicaid now, but would have under the expansion, and they don't make enough money to qualify for financial help to buy private coverage. According to a spokeswoman for Moms Demand Action (MDA), the moms were inside the Blue Mesa Grill when members of Open Carry Texas (OCT) an open carry advocacy group pull up in the parking lot and start getting guns out of their trunks. The group then waited in the parking lot for the four MDA members to come out. The spokeswoman said that the restaurant manager did not want to call 911, for fear of inciting a riot and waited for the gun advocates to leave. The group moved to a nearby Hooters after approximately two hours.
Inciting a riot? When there are 40 gun totting nut-jobs outside terrorizing unarmed mothers having lunch? That could never happen. Is there a photo of these patriots?

Sad to know their manhood extenders are showing. As is their lack of intellect and class. Maybe its good the police didnt show up. They probably would have supported the gundamentalists and arrested the MDA for something baseless, like inciting a riot.

Rand Pauls 2013 book Government Bullies was copied wholesale from a 2003 case study by the Heritage Foundation, BuzzFeed has learned. The copied section, 1,318 words, is by far the most significant instance reported so far of Paul borrowing language from other published material. The new cut-and-paste job follows reports by BuzzFeed, Politico, and MSNBC that Paul had plagiarized speeches either from Wikipedia or news reports. The book was published in August 2013 by Center Street, a division of Hachette Book Group. In this case, Paul included a link to the Heritage case study in the books footnotes, though he made no effort to indicate that not just the source, but the words themselves, had been taken from Heritage.

Whoopsie. It seems that Paul is in a bit of trouble. He likes to copy things and pass them off as his own work. And I will admit, sometimes we havent footnoted things properly, Paul told ABCs George Stephanopoulos on This Week. In some of the other things that are now going to pop up under thousands of things Ive written, yeah, there are times when they have been sloppy or not correct or weve made an error, Paul said. But the difference is, I take it as an insult and I will not lie down and say people can call me dishonest, misleading or misrepresenting. I have never intentionally done so. When I wrote scientific papers, I sometimes had statements with eight footnotes for one sentence. Is that what you want me to do for my speeches? If its required, Ill do it, Paul added. But I think Im being unfairly targeted by a bunch of hacks and haters. And Im just not going to put up with people casting aspersions on my character.
A few things:
01: Crying any more about the footnote police makes you look stupid. Any 7th grader writing a history essay knows about MLA footnotes, Rand. Just click the link and learn. But dont copy and paste it. It would be wrong without citations.

I do even more work when I am at home. For verification of this, just ask my children. I asked you one simple question yesterday. I wanted to know why you portray NJ Public Schools as failure factories. Apparently that question struck a nerve. When you swung around at me and raised your voice, asking me what I wanted, my first response I want more money for my students. Notice, I did not ask for more money for me. I did not ask for my health benefits, my pension, a raise, my tenure, or even my contract that I have not had for nearly three years. We got into a small debate about how much money has been spent on education. Too me, there is never enough money that is spent on education. To invest in education is to invest in our future. We cannot keep short-changing our children and taking away opportunities for them to explore and learn. As more money is required for state-mandated curriculum changes and high-stakes standardized testing, it is our children that are losing. Programs are being cut all over the state as budget changes are forcing districts to cut music, art, after-school transportation, and youth-centered clubs.
Sorry, Miss Teacher. Youre the problem. Christie is the solution and when you people accept that, this country will heal. Worthless teacher! The fallout from the Great Republican slimdown continues (quoting Fixed Noises bullshit word).
Rep. Scott Tipton (R-Denial) has developed an interesting take on the shutdown. Because there was never a vote to shut down the government, no Republican wanted the government shutdown. According to Colorado Pol:
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]The fact that the overwhelming majority of Americans, including a majority of Republicans, disapprove of the GOP-controlled House because of their behavior leading to the government shutdown makes this an especially noteworthy denial. In addition, polling shows growing personal vulnerability for Tipton in the wake of the shutdown. By repeatedly voting for resolutions tying operation of the government to conditions neither the Senate nor the President would ever accept, it is the judgment of most Americans that Tipton and his fellow House Republicans did indeed, repeatedly, "vote to shut down the government." Republicans demanded concessions in exchange for what the President and the public considered their basic fiduciary duties, and their choice to continue making such demands for two weeks after the shutdown is what prolonged it. It was only after the polls showed unrecoverable disaster for Republicans that they relented, ultimately passing a resolution with none of their demands.
See, thats how it works for Republicans. No vote on the record, it didnt happen. Never mind they voted 43 times to end Obamacare. Never mind Mike Lee, Rand Paul, Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz all saying they would shutdown the government and put the US into default to get Obamacare killed. Never mind that no one in Republican leadership stopped it. In fact, they passively encouraged it.

They need to throw Obamacare off the table and just do away with it, he said. Its like the middle class has been kicked out and the working poor has been established. Its like the rich and the poor and the working poor. Another protester, 78-year-old Frances Minkowitz, didnt mince words on her sign with a call to impeach Obama that also alluded to Benghazi.
Snap! Speak power to trusth, 78 year old Frances Minkowitz. Scream it loud to all the protesters. . .all thousands of them that showed up to demand this Socialist, Fascist, Communist, Kenyan, Black Power Muslim be impeached and shipped back to his home.

Bush is scheduled to keynote a fundraiser in Irving, Texas, for the Messianic Jewish Bible Institute, a group that trains people in the United States, Israel, and around the world to convince Jews to accept Jesus as the Messiah. The organization's goal: to "restore" Israel and the Jews and bring about about the second coming of Christ. Messianic Jews have long been controversial for Jews of all major denominations, who object to their proselytizing efforts and their message that salvation by Jesus is consistent with Jewish theology. Last year, Abraham Foxman, president of the Anti-Defamation League, told Politico that former Sen. Rick Santorum's appearance at an event hosted by another Messianic Jewish organization, the Messianic Jewish Alliance of America, was "insensitive and offensive."
And Commentary magazine, which bills itself as a "conservative American journal of politics, Judaism, social and cultural issues," noted, "it must be understood that the visceral distaste that the overwhelming majority of Jews have for the Messianics is not to be taken lightly." Many Messianic Jews are Christians who have adopted aspects of Jewish ritual observance; others are Jews who share the Christian belief that Jesus is the Messiah. Asked about Bush's upcoming appearance at the Messianic Jewish Bible Institute (MJBI) event, Rabbi David Saperstein, the director of the Religious Action Center of Reform Judaism, said, "It's disappointing that he would give his stamp of approval to a group whose program is an express effort to convert Jews and not to accept the validity of the Jewish covenant." Foxman was traveling overseas and unavailable to comment.
Next on the agenda. . .spitting on Nelson Mandela, flipping off Gandhi and taking a crap on Cesar Chavezs grave. Because nothing scream racist, fundie bullshit more than pretending to be Jewish only to show Jews how being Jewish is an affront to Christ, a Jew.
The logic makes my head burn. Bush comes back for this? Cant he leave the country yet and get arrested for war crimes yet?

The Civil War grows. It takes on all people and and tears apart all things. A once proud political party steeped in principles and ideas has come down to being in an argument as to which side will control. . .the conservative side, the wingnut side or the insane side. There should be pity for this party, but honestly, most people with a brain would have more pity for a killed off cancer cell than the GOPs march to Whig Party status.
We start this week looking former GOP presidential candidate and Pennsylvania Senator Lil Ricky Santorum (R-Frothy Mix) who went on Meet the Press and complained that, because of the Tea Party, the GOP is now completely leaderless and that the hours of mindless Ted Talk did more harm than good.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Rick Santorum, the man who thinks the television show "Will and Grace" is to blame for the recent influx of same-sex marriage legislation, believes U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) did the Republican party no favors during the federal government shutdown. Santorum, the former U.S. senator from Pennsylvania and Republican presidential candidate, said Sunday that Cruz, in his attempt to gut President Barack Obama's health care law, "did more harm" than good. "I think it was not his objective," Santorum said during an appearance on NBC News' Meet the Press. "I think his objective was a laudable one. I think he didn't do a very good job in planning it out. I mean, there's one thing to have a goal, and another thing to have a plan to get you to that goal, and he didn't figure that out."
This was on NBC with perennial soft-ball tosser David Gregory. Shocked doesnt begin to describe how one should feel. Gregory than asked Ricky (R-Lame Sweaters) about the State of the GOP.

02: Santorum needs to shut up and go away. He is a blowhard loser has been.

05. Go change your sweater, Rick.
06. Santorum, et al, are self-destructing. The silent majority will be calling for a new CONSERVATIVE party to get back to a real Constitutional Republic. All the RINOs can do is criticize conservatives. They are gutless cowards just worrying about their country clubs and golden perks.07. Losers need to be replaced. At least Cruz tried. Alot of these crap can be put on the shoulders of three men: Rug Doctor Rand Paul, Texas uber-loon Ted Cruz and Utah gasbag Mike Lee. The latter, Mr. Lee, has decided to tell people on the right what they want to hear: That self-delusional pablum that makes good fiction and even better horror for anyone not on the right and with at least a 1/4 of a functional brain (which is about 80% of the country). Mike Lee said Tuesday that the turmoil he and others have fomented in the Republican Party is all part of a Reaganesque revolution that will return the GOP to its glory days. The gaping hole in the middle of the Republican party today, the one that separates the grass roots from the establishment leaders, is precisely the size and shape of a new unifying conservative reform agenda, Lee said in a speech Tuesday at the Heritage Foundation. The establishment will not produce that agenda. In the speech entitled Whats Next for Conservatives, Lee characterized his leading role in the government shutdown as part of a touchstone moment for Republicans fed up with party leaders who have strayed too far from conservative ideals.
So, now hes Ronnie Raygun? Soon, the media will call him the messiah, the second coming of Jesus. Ill respond to Lees question Whats next for conservatives. LOSING MORE ELECTIONS, just like the one you lost in New Jersey.
Still, all is not lost. Maybe old guard Republicans can get together with old guard Republicans and see eye to eye. Mike Enzi of Wyoming thinks that because Enzi recalled that the two bonded over fly-fishing, when they were on the same team competing in a popular annual One Fly tournament fishing with the same fly lure all day in the Snake River. Wow, that sounds fun (it is. I love fly fishing). Sadly, Dick Cheney (R-Death Star) [http://abcnews.go.com/blogs/politics/2013/10/dick-cheney-slams-sen-mike-enzi-on-fundraising-says-they-arent-fishing-buddies/|recall it that way] at all.

In the quarter just reported, Liz got 25 percent of her funds from Wyoming; he got 13 percent of his from Wyoming. She outraised him in the last quarter, over a million dollars in the first quarter out there. Cheney also took Enzi to task for reportedly saying that the pair are fishing buddies. Mike also said he and I are fishing buddies, which is simply not true. Never happened, Cheney said.
Relax, Mike of Fatland. . .maybe Dick will take you hunting when his daughters campaign sinks. We all know he loves to hunt.
But, as civil wars go, this one gets funnier by the minute. On Oct 16th, 27 GOP senators broke ranks with their party (meaning there are really only 18 tea party toads in the Senate) can voted to raise the debt ceiling. This is good. They came to their senses. Well, not quite.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Twenty-seven Republican senators voted with Democrats on Oct. 16 to lift the debt ceiling and avert a catastrophic default. And each one of those 27 senators voted Tuesday to "disapprove" of their own votes. The vote Tuesday was a symbolic "resolution to disapprove" of the debt limit hike. It was mandated by the deal thanks to a last-minute provision inserted by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY). The motion failed 45-54 because all Democrats opposed it.
Umm, what? Why? Is this shit really necessary? So, other than rank hypocrisy, we have a side of stupid and meaningless to go. How does this party get votes at all???
One of those Republicans that disapproved their vote after voting is Lamar Alexander (R-Who). He voted for the disapproval of his vote to increase the debt limit because hes tired of the tea party and wants the GOP to be part of the [line:http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/10/26/lamar-alexander-tea-party_n_4166442.html|I'm In The Take-Charge-Of-The-Government Crowd]. If all we do is stand around handing each other score cards, we wont get anything done, Alexander said. Thats why, in the current health-care debate, Im not in the shut-down-the-government crowd. Im in the take-charge-of-the-government crowd, and get something done.
Like voting to disapprove a vote you made? This works. Why do we know about this crap at all?

Back in July, he faced protests over his decision to vote for immigration reform, dismissing the jeers with an "I didn't hear anything they said." Later in August, he received a letter from 20 tea party and conservative groups, asking him to retire, while criticizing his "compromise and bipartisanship."
Oh, I see. Time to make yourself look better to those who arent frothing at the mouth psychopaths. Those same psychopaths will primary your ass next year, Lamar. Better start pandering because your power is more important than the country.
Interestingly enough, the party is falling apart. Why, down in North Carolina, it seems GOP candidates are dropping like flies and switching parties. Jason Thigpen is running against complete loser Walter Jones who, amazingly enough, switched his party from Democratic to Republican in 1994 after losing in a Democratic primary in 1992, according to Wikipedia.

This will be the most controversial entry ever on the Top Ten, dating back all the way to 2001 when the list started. Only three other Democrats or Democratic-supporters have been mentioned on this list: Ralph Nader, Zell Miller and Joe Lieberman. And most on DU support 95% of Ralph Naders positions (except he enabled the Chimp to steal the election in 2000 and the rest is sad history). But, Dianne Feinstein deserves recognition this week for her blazing support of George Bush era policies on spying on Americans.
We first begin with her attempts to torpedo Patrick Leahys bill to stop the NSA from spying on American citizens. DiFi is all for warrantless spying on Americans. Strike #1, Senator.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]At a Senate Judiciary Committee hearing Wednesday, Chairman Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) said he will push legislation to end the NSA's controversial program to collect records on all U.S. phone calls. He argued that the program invades Americans' privacy rights while doing little to thwart terrorist attacks. But Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.), the chairwoman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, argued that the phone data program is critical for protecting national security. "I will do everything I can to prevent this program from being canceled," Feinstein said during the hearing.
National Security? Give me a break. Terrorist in the toilet these days like Communists in the toilet in the 1920s and 1950s. Who are you, Palmer and McCarthy?
What is the reason for trying to torpedo any attempt to end this illegal snooping by the NSA? Well, because according to DiFi, its not surveillance.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Dianne Feinstein, the chair of the US Senate committee charged with holding the intelligence establishment to account, declared on Monday that the National Security Agencys mass collection of phone records is not surveillance and should be maintained as an essential tool to combat terrorism. Feinstein made the case for retaining the program, which routinely collects and stores the phone records millions of Americans, in an op-ed for USA Today, in which she wrote that the NSAs work had been effective in helping to prevent terrorist plots against the US and our allies. Feinstein, a Democrat from California, is introducing legislation that would make superficial alterations to the NSA and the secret courts that are supposed to provide judicial oversight. But her bill stops short of making any substantial changes to the way the agency conducts its work, despite the string of revelations based on disclosures by the former NSA contractor Edward Snowden.
How is it not surveillance, DiFi? Tell all Americans how? The government can tap our phones, read our emails. . .Im surprised the government doesnt force people to submit stool and urine samples these days (wait, they do if you are on welfare). Listen, Senator. . .if it smells like shit, looks like shit and comes out of someones ass, its shit. Calling it a nice name like feces or #2 doesnt change the fact that its a lump of shit! Understand? Dont think you do.
So, what does she do? Tries to get all of the data set in stone but submitting bills to codify the NSAs snooping. Honestly, this womans lost her damn mind!
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]California Sen. Dianne Feinstein has set up a clash with another powerful senior Democrat and drawn criticism from civil libertarians on the left and right for her defense of a national security program that collects Americans' telephone records. The role is a familiar one for Feinstein, whose pro-law enforcement outlook has persisted from her days on a women's parole board and her tenure as San Francisco mayor. Now it's in full evidence in her leadership of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, which oversees the U.S. spy apparatus. "I do not want to leave the United States in a position where we are open to another major attack because we can't ferret out who terrorists might be calling in this country to put it together," Feinstein said in an interview. Her committee is drafting legislation to codify the phone records program, the existence of which was leaked in June by National Security Agency contractor Edward Snowden. The legislation would grant the agency explicit authority to gather records listing the numbers, duration and time of all U.S. telephone calls, but not their content.
How much did you campaign to keep Dan White in prison for murdering George Moscone and the man that helped you attain your position, Harvey Milk, DiFi? Seems like you care about law enforcement issues when authoritarians can grab more power.
But, you do have supporters. Because the supporters of NSA snooping also believe the US should snoop on world leader. So, DiFi, let me introduce you to one of your snooping supporters. Im sure you will work for his endorsement. His name: Dick Cheney.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Former Vice President Dick Cheney on Monday defended the NSA's alleged practice of monitoring the phone conversations of foreign leaders. "We do have a fantastic intelligence capability, worldwide against all kinds of potential issues and concerns," Cheney said in an interview with CNN. "We are vulnerable, as was shown on 9/11, and you never know what you're going to need when you need it." Cheney said that the intelligence gathered on foreign leaders and other countries is valuable to help the government address various issues. "We do collect a lot of intelligence. Without speaking about any particular target or group of targets, that intelligence capability is enormously important to the United States, to our conduct in foreign policy, to defense matters, economic matters, and I'm a strong supporter of it," Cheney said.
Congrats, Senator. . .you can the heartless cyborg agree with each other. Snooping should be done on Americans and on foreign leaders too. Hell, I think, right now in Ottawa, Stephen Harper is planning to attack the US with another William Shatner. And Australia us thinking of sending another Yahoo Serious or Crocodile Dundee movie here. Better ramp it up, DiFi.
But. . .no. DiFi doesnt like that kind of snooping. In fact, she is against spying on our allies. I am so confused.

Unless the United States is engaged in hostilities against a country or there is an emergency need for this type of surveillance, I do not believe the United States should be collecting phone calls or emails of friendly presidents and prime ministers. The president should be required to approve any collection of this sort, Feinstein said. The NSAs foreign spying activities have come under close scrutiny in recent days, after documents leaked by former NSA contractor Edward Snowden revealed the agency had eavesdropped on the cell phones of at least 35 leaders of foreign governments, possibly including German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Feinstein said the Senate Intelligence Committee was not satisfactorily informed of the NSAs policy of spying on allied leaders and that a total review of all intelligence programs is in order.
Ummm. . .what? Now youre against snooping, so long as its done against foreigners and foreign leaders? Why? Because she is totally opposed to it.

The revelations require a "total review of intelligence programs," Feinstein said in a statement. Unlike NSAs collection of phone records under a court order, it is clear to me that certain surveillance activities have been in effect for more than a decade and that the Senate Intelligence Committee was not satisfactorily informed," she said. "Therefore our oversight needs to be strengthened and increased."
My head is spinning. Please continue. Maybe you can make it stop, DiFi.

Unless the United States is engaged in hostilities against a country or there is an emergency need for this type of surveillance, I do not believe the United States should be collecting phone calls or emails of friendly presidents and prime ministers. The president should be required to approve any collection of this sort."
So there you have it, folks. If the president approves it, its good and she will support it. The president is now God on Earth and the stroke of his pens makes all illegal, unconstitutional, immoral and just play un-American things perfectly acceptable.
Welcome to being the fourth Democrat on the list in 12 years, DiFi. You earned it with your hypocritical idea that its okay to snoop on Americans, but you get your knickers in a wad when the NSA does it to foreign leaders. She has given American the middle finger and said to accept the snooping being done against us and will work to codify it. . .but she. . .I cant do this. Cant you just retire already, 80 year old DiFi, so we can get a real Democrat?

Last week, the GOP decided its time to screw the poor even more by gutting the food assistance program known as SNAP. Nothing helps an economy or people than starving them to death because the price of food has sky rocketed.
But the Republicans love this idea.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]After stripping food stamp funding from a still languishing farm bill and lusting to cut $40 billion of food assistance for the poor, Republicans can rejoice this coming Friday 48 million people, including more than 21 million children, will see their SNAP (food stamp) benefits reduced. The cuts are coming because the Presidents fiscal stimulus of 2009 is running out and Republicans have no intention to extend the food assistance because besides killing Americans jobs, keeping people hungry is their favorite activity.
Break out the Filet Mignon, the Caviar and the top notch vodka. Oh, and call in some top flight hookers and maybe a few celebrities, because after were done fucking the country, we need to get our rocks off!

The budget that every Republican voted for twice adversely affects low-income working families with children, seniors, veterans, and people with disabilities, because like an efficient animal extermination strategy, Republicans believe it is important to cull the weakest and most vulnerable Americans from the population first to make room for the next group to go; the middle class that is falling into poverty at an alarming rate.
Because we all know that a country of the very rich and the very poor is safe, stable and never had rebellions. Break out more vodka and hookers! I think David Vitter knows where we can find good ones! We fucked so many poor people!!!

Republicans love taking food out of the mouths of hungry children and senior citizens, but they get an extra benefit because each dollar of food stamps infuses over $1.70 of spending into the economy that creates jobs. If there is only one thing the GOP loves more than taking food from Americans it is killing jobs. It really is an elegant plan to decimate the population because killing jobs with drastic food stamp cuts will send more Americans into poverty to wonder where their familys next meal is coming from and if Republicans have their way it will not be coming at all.
Couldnt say it better myself. Dont forget loving fetuses and hating children is another of their favorite things. Oh. . .and loving the soldier and hating the veteran. Finally, loving America but hating Americans. Go figure. How do these people get votes?

Lets see that fly in a court of law. Im sure if a black man Stood Their Ground, they will stand in prison jumpsuits and then have the ground they stood upon on top of them after they are buried after their lethal injection for murder. On Sunday evening, CBS 60 Minutes aired a new report on the attack in Benghazi, Libya that took place last year, examining the nature of the attack, which analysts are now calling pre-planned. This differs greatly from the early days and weeks after the attack, when members of the administration were still attempting to find out what went wrong and what led to the deaths of four Americans, including Ambassador J. Circuit Court of Appeals, which is one notch below the Supreme Court and often has the final word on matters of executive authority. "This week, Sen. Reid has teed up President Obama's court-packing plan for the D.C. "The last thing we need to do when money is tight ... is throw more money at unneeded judges on this court, in an attempt to simply pack the court in order to tilt that court ideologically in a way that favors the big government agenda of the Obama administration." Remember when Thomas, Alito and Roberts (and Harriet Miers) were nominated and the Democrats threatened this under Bush and how much the Republicans got their panties in a twist over it, claiming the sole job of the Senate was advise and consent. [div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]n an appearance on the Fox News Channel on Thursday, host Martha MacCallum concluded that the point about the Solo cup was the bigger picture about the health care law.
I will always go to the mat and fight for freedom, free people, free markets, Blackburn insisted. And I think for the federal government to come in and take away the choice that people have had in the health care market and say, Hey, we dont like what youve been buying, were going to make you buy this.
Listen, harpie. Again. . .the ACA doesnt do that. But please continue.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Whats the next thing going to be? You cant buy that Solo cup? You cant buy an inexpensive blouse? You cant buy a pair of shoes that cost less than another pair?
The new GOP slogan: Were going to force you to choose between quality and crap because its your choice. And if something comes along that allows you to get even more quality, well stop it and tell you that you have the freedom to buy whatever you like, so long as we support it.
Congresscritters need IQ tests. . .but for Marsha to take one, she would need to grow a brain. I think Obamacare cover brain surgery.

Dave Heineman is a moron. For those who dont know, thats the current Republican governor of Nebraska. He has appointed a group called Climate Assessment and Response Committee to study climate change and recommend a bill. It is never good when a Republican commissions a climate change study. For all we know, something about the Devil and sponge cakes may cause it.
So, the study went forward. But there is a problem. No scientist will touch it, meaning it has absolutely no value or merit.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]A study on the impact of climate change on Nebraska, recently approved by the state, may not be carried out because its own scientists are refusing to be a part of it. The problem, according to members of the governor-appointed Climate Assessment and Response Committee, is that the bill behind the study specifically calls for the researchers to look at cyclical climate change. In so doing, it completely leaves out human contributions to global warming. At a discussion yesterday, the Omaha World-Herald Bureau reports, Barbara Mayes, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service, pointed out that cyclical isnt even a scientific term. And its not just a misuse of language: State Sen. Beau McCoy, who added the word to the bill, is a known climate denier. I dont subscribe to global warming, McCoy said during an earlier debate about the legislation. I think there are normal, cyclical changes.
So this idiot, Beau McCoy will keep going forward with it even though scientists told him that hes full of crap. Typical fundie.
Someone needs to tell Barbara Hayes that scientific language means nothing to fundie idiots. God created scientific language. He can use it, change it, cancel it as he pleases. It amazes me that these apostles of science, with all their supposed knowledge fail to grasp that simple fact. (I stole that from Inherit the Wind).
Next up will be a repudiation of Galileo and the entire movement of science since the beginning of time. Just say God did it.

Damn those internets. They really screw people up. Look what happened up in Minnesota this week. The Chisago County Republican Party decided to use the internet to slam abortion. And in the process, they exposed their repressed klanhoods.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]The Chisago County Republican Party sparked a firestorm of criticism for posting an image of a slave auction and the message: "Pro Choice; Against Slavery? Don't buy one." The posting was left on the site much of Wednesday morning. By early Wednesday afternoon, it had been taken down with no explanation. By late Wednesday afternoon, it appeared the local party unit's Facebook page had also disappeared. A Facebook message to the group went unanswered as did calls to the group's chairman. The posting earned national attention on social media and beyond. Radio host Ed Schultz drew attention to it online and DFL Chairman Ken Martin called on his Republican counterpart to repudiate the posting.
So they posted this racist shitburger for all to see and then prompted delete it and go completely AWOL in explaining themselves? I dont believe the posting was that bad.
There has to be someone in the Republican Party of Chisago County that will come out and say something. . .anything:
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Minnesota Republican Party secretary Chris Fields said in an interview that he found "absolutely nothing offensive about that (Facebook) post."
Fields said that as an African American man he finds slavery reprehensible but saw the post as a reminder that the Republican Party started as an abolitionist party, at a time when Democrats supported slavery.
Although he said the posting would have benefited from further explanation, he added: "Im not going to condemn that posting.
Seriously? Youre black and you dont find the posting that offensive? It must not be that bad then.

And finally, the News Mustache that is John Stossel is back and dumber than ever, this time with Fixed Noise resident twit Steve Doocy.
The decided to complain about the ACA again, rehashing disproven talking points like good little propagandists do. Lets listen in:
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]During an appearance on Fox & Friends, John Stossel asserted to host Steve Doocy that President Barack Obamas health care reform law just kills the market by mandating that women can no longer be charged more than men for insurance. The competition of the market is the only thing that makes things better, he explained. Yesterday, President Obama stood in front of a bunch of women in Massachusetts and said, No longer will those evil insurance companies be able to charge you women more.
Yes, how dare there be equality in insurance coverage? I mean, honestly. . .theres a glass ceiling with pretty much everything. Why not with how much someone pays to get life saving medical care? Besides, if those wenches wanted cheap health insurance, they should have been born penised.
[div class="excerpt" style="background-color:#F4E0E0; border:1px solid #E8C0C0; box-shadow:-1px -1px 3px #C66666 inset; border-radius:0.6em; margin:0.5385em 0em 0em 0.5385em;"]Women go to the doctor much more often than men! Maybe theyre smarter or maybe theyre hypochondriacs,Stossel continued. They live longer. Who knows? But if its insurance, you ought to be able to charge people who use the services more, more.
Excuse me? I pay premiums, Johnny. This isnt a phone. This is life and death. So, following your logic, someone born with a genetic disease should be charged into bankruptcy because they use their insurance alot? You honestly believe this shit? Of course you do, youre John Stossel, News Mustache.
Step up, Steve Douchey. . .give us your turds of wisdom on the subject.

This administration, this president wants to make everything fair. Its not fair if you pay less than she does
And as a number of Republicans have made the argument, why should I pay for Im in my 60s, why should I pay for your maternity coverage?
Yes, those two asshats said that.
I dont drive on your roads. My taxes shouldnt pay for your roads in NY. Nor for a military I dont use, police I dont need and anything else I dont like. My taxes should only pay for me. Thats how it should go.

PS: In order to be fair to our Southerner who accused me of having an anti-Southerner bias in the article, here is a head count:
6 = Number of southerners on the list (southerner meaning those from states that seceded from the Union in 1860)
10 = Number of non-southerners on the list
