Palestinian girl shot by Jewish settler in East Jerusalem

https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/news/middle-east/21507-palestinian-girl-shot-by-jewish-settler-in-east-jerusalem

A Palestinian girl was shot and injured by a Jewish settler on Wednesday near an entrance to the Old City of Jerusalem after she allegedly tried to stab him, according to Israeli media reports.

The girl was seriously wounded in the incident while the Jewish settler sustained moderate injuries, Israeli media reported.

According to Israeli police, the girl was shot by the settler near the Old City’s Al-Sbat Gate, after which she was taken to Jerusalem’s Hadassah Medical Center.

Palestinian eyewitnesses, however, told Anadolu Agency that girl - who, they said, had not been holding a knife - was attacked for no reason by the Jewish settler.

Palestinians are fighting for their lives; Israel is fighting for the occupation

http://www.haaretz.com/opinion/.premium-1.679129

That we notice there’s a war on only when Jews are murdered does not cancel out the fact that Palestinians are being killed all the time.

Yes, this is a war, and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, with his mandate from the people, has ordered its intensification. He does not listen to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas’ messages of conciliation and acceptance in calmer times, why should he listen to them now?

Netanyahu is intensifying the war mainly in East Jerusalem, with orgies of collective punishment. He thus further reveals Israel’s success in physically disconnecting Jerusalem from most of the Palestinian population, accenting the absence of Palestinian leadership in East Jerusalem and the weakness of the government in Ramallah — which is trying to stop the drift in the rest of the West Bank.

The war did not start last Thursday, it does not start with the Jewish victims and does not end when no Jews are murdered. The Palestinians are fighting for their life, in the full sense of the word. We Israeli Jews are fighting for our privilege as a nation of masters, in the full ugliness of the term.

Video of 18-year-old Palestinian chased by Jewish mob and killed by police shocks global audience

http://mondoweiss.net/2015/10/palestinian-jewish-audience

In the hours since video went up of the killing of 18-year-old Fadi Alloun near Damascus Gate in occupied East Jerusalem Sunday morning, the footage has shocked people around the world. The young man appears to be hunted by a group of Jews, many religious, who call on police to kill Alloun. The police do. Later police said that Alloun had stabbed a Jewish boy. But whatever he did, the video appears to show an execution, and no attempt at arrest.

And Alloun’s killing follows by two weeks the “extrajudicial execution” by Israeli forces of 18-year-old Hadeel al-Hashlamoun in occupied Hebron.
---
As the video above begins, voices can be heard in Hebrew shouting – apparently at police – “Shoot him! He’s a terrorist! Shoot him!” and “Don’t wait! Shoot him!”…

After police shoot him dead, an officer can be heard asking one of the mob, “Did he stab anyone?”

Another extrajudicial murder by Israelis pretending to be cowboys.

Citing impact of BDS in Europe, Israeli businessman shifts towards China

https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/news/europe/21443-citing-impact-of-bds-in-europe-israeli-businessman-shifts-towards-china

The impact of the Palestinian-led Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) campaign in Europe is forcing a shift towards China, according to a leading Israeli businessman.

Édouard Cukierman, the Paris-born founder of Catalyst Funds and chair of Cukierman & Co Investment House, made the remarks in an interview with Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.

According to Cukierman, the prospects of Europeans investing in Israeli companies whose shares are traded in the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange are almost zero.

“In our fund, most of the investors now are from China”, he said. “Our connections in Europe are still very strong, and we have three branches in Europe, but in practice European investments have been less than 10 percent of American investments in the Israeli market. Our change in the direction of China has paid off, and most of our deals now are with Chinese investors.”

Abbas calls for international protection

https://www.middleeastmonitor.com/news/middle-east/21446-abbas-calls-for-international-protection

Palestinian Authority (PA) President Mahmoud Abbas on Sunday called on UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon to urgently send international protection staff to the Palestinian territories before his government loses control, Anadolu reported.

In a telephone call between Ki-Moon and Abbas, PA news agency Wafa reported that Abbas asked Ki-Moon to send international protection forces to the territories.

Ki-Moon had called Abbas, the news agency said, to discuss the latest developments escalation of the situation in the Palestinian territories, including settler provocation in Al-Aqsa Mosque, as well as the blocking of Palestinian roads and storming of villages by IDF forces and settlers.

‘Third intifada was launched,’ Palestinian law student posted before fatal attack in Jerusalem

http://mondoweiss.net/2015/10/launched-palestinian-jerusalem

Overnight, one mosque outside Ramallah chose not play the melodic hum of the call to prayer to mark pre-dawn worship. Amid fierce clashes that took place across the West Bank and Jerusalem following two attacks on Israelis, and the killing of the Palestinian assailants and raiding of their homes, the mosque amplified the Palestinian national anthem.

The unrest marks the peak of growing tensions over the Al-Aqsa mosque in Jerusalem. Intense clashes escalated yesterday and early this morning, on into the afternoon, prompting Palestinians to speculate if we are seeing the beginnings of a “third Intifada,” or uprising.

More than 100 Palestinians were injured in the upheaval, including two journalists.

This morning Israeli police announced a two-day closed military zone in the Muslim quarter of the Old City and limits on prayer at al-Aqsa mosque to men over the age of 50. Women of all ages are permitted to pray.

Let's hope that the Palestinian people do not fall for the rotten bait of the IDF and their paymasters with a confrontation.

Let's hope that the Palestinians stand firm, but do not resort to violence as those do who use zionism as excuse to subjugate a people.
