I think a good percentage of people held their nose and voted for trump for one reason only.... the SCOTUS and the Scalia vacancy and it has worked out wonders for them because not only were they able to get that vacancy, they got two more with the latter changing the balance from 5-4 to 6-3. It’s so gravy for them, they are happy now. Trump is no good to them now.
He would have been better off saying “we should let the voters decide.” For one, those same voters would then come out for him. And two, he would have actually looked good to the MSM and moderates.....I am surprised he doesn’t even realize that McConnell and crew don’t care about him now, he served his purpose.

Matter of fact, we have to do things differently this time....both times in the modern era when Democrats won the White House the republicans were able to regroup and change the narrative (with the help of the MSM).That is why they have controlled the House for 19 of the last 25 years and the Senate for 16 of the last 25 years (and have gotten 5 SCOTUS picks)....and not to mention all the state legislatures they have controlled.

1. People are already voting
2. 90% of people have already made up their mind
3. “Undecided” voters really aren’t undecided

Everyone praising him for being a tough and fair reporter....nope, I don’t believe it....he is a FoxNews stooge, don’t care that he was supposedly tough on trump

We have liberals, moderates, and conservatives everywhere so it’s not as easy as blue states/red states, but if it was decided to split the country and the left got half and the right got half while the moderates had to decide where the wanted to live would this be a good thing?

When the death of one person can make half the county happy and the other half depressed....while no one gives a fuck about the other 200,000 that died

This isn’t the 18th century anymore and we aren’t a country of just 4 Million people....here are some things I would do
1. Eliminate Senate
2. Increase the number of house members, it’s dumb to limit to 435 especially with our population..each Congress person will not represent more than 500,000 people....I think with our current population that would be 620 Congressmen and gives our least populated states at least 1
3. No gerrymandering
4. SCOTUS and other federal judges limited to 30 years...POTUS nominates with at least 55% of the House to approve
5. Congressman terms are every 3 years instead of two, less campaigning....can only serve 6 terms (18 years)
6. POTUS serves only one 6 year term...doesn’t have to worry about reelection...becomes less political
7. Eliminate electoral college
|
He isn’t conservative or Republican, liberal or Democratic....he only cares about Trump....my point is, appointing conservatives justices helps him with his base to get elected, he doesn’t really care about their ideology like McConnell or any other Republican .....so if he loses the election and his nominee wasn’t voted on prior to, he could care less about a lame duck appointment because that doesn’t serve his interest....he actually may get pissed that his base didn’t come out in large enough numbers to ensure his reelection

Good or bad idea? I think it is a good idea, #1 it gives the Democrats people to rally behind especially if his list contains women, Hispanics, African Americans, etc #2 it doesn’t allow Trump and the Republicans to paint what type of person he would nominate as a far leftist, #3 it would take some of the shine off of their nominee especially if it is a woman
Edit- by the responses, this is why we lose elections
