Does anyone know the reasoning for Medicare not covering eyes and dental?

My mother in law is having lots of problems with her eyes, her glasses cost a fortune last time. I think when it comes time for me to be on medicare I will stay on my husband's eye coverage until he retires. It doesn't make sense to me. I figure there had to be some under the table lobby thing involved in the decision when it was made.

I saw Jane Sanders on tv this morning and I had a bit of an epiphany.

I think she is the one who is pushing him to be more negative towards Hillary. I think she is the one who doesn't really care if a Democrat wins as long as their "revolution" continues on. I don't think they realize the platform is in most cases an empty document.

I also think she is the only advisor he listens to. I have said I would vote for the nominee, but after all the Bernie supporters I have come in contact with here and in my day to day life and seeing more of Jane, I don't know if I could support him.

I feel confident the math says Hillary will be our nominee, thank goodness, but it sure seems like Jane has a lot of power over him and not all of it is good.

I swear I am staying away until after June.

This entire site has been hijacked by Sanders supporters. I feel confident that many of the most vocal are really Republicans trolling as supporters. Every single republican I know would rather run against Bernie than Mrs. Clinton. The ads, as I have said before, write themselves.

I was on a jury the other day and I was shocked at what they agreed to hide. Anything positive about Hillary and negative about Bernie and they vote to hide, not discussion. Anyone who disagrees with them are not true "progressives", not sure what I have been all these years.

I need to stay away from here for a while it is bad for my blood pressure.

Question for those of you who currently teach at the University level.

If you were to choose today would you choose to be a College Professor? My husband and I had this discussion last night, he is in his 18th year as a professor and we are both thinking he should have gone to a national lab or industry.

Sad thing is, he loves teaching, loves his students and interacting with them. However, the federal funding is drying up, no more research money for many people. We lost summer salary when his NSF grant ended and was not renewed. That took a third of his salary. He is teaching this summer, but they could only give him one class, a 4 week class and a payment of $2000 for teaching a class of 100. Not even close to what we lost with the grant.

No raises for the past few years and with no grant right now, (there are 6 in the pipeline to be reviewed), there won't be any. Everything is based on research, not teaching.

I don't think we would choose this path if we were coming out now with student loans. It is hard not to discourage young grad students who want to follow him to the classroom.

Any tips for someone over 55 looking for work?

I took early retirement thinking we could do it, well we can't. Our insurance, out of pocket medical and everything else except gasoline have gone up so much I need to get something to help us get by. I have applied for all kinds of jobs, except Walmart greeter, I get interviewed sometimes, but always hear I am overqualified.

I don't want another "professional job" like I had at the University. I don't think I could take the stress anymore. I can't even get a retail job which seems nuts to me.

Has anyone been successful getting something, anything as an "old person".

I am finished sitting back listening to the Bernie people.

I have been pretty silent in the past few months but I cannot do it any longer. The other side, and in this case it is the Bernie supporters, are making it clear that they won't vote for the Democrat in the general if it is not Bernie. Well, fine, give us Trump on a silver platter.

I am going to start answering these people, if they ban me so be it. This is a DEMOCRATIC website, not a BERNIE website. I have always felt they had the right to their opinion, but since they don't value mine I have a right to call foul.

I like Bernie, and if he is the nominee of the Democratic party I will support him fully to stop the Republicans. I am a DEMOCRAT!

What would happen if we had a national primary?

Just wondering if that is even a possibility. Everyone would vote for the person they wanted as their nominee, then three or four states would not determine if your candidate was viable. It could be held in May, with the conventions in June. It should be on a weekend, no caucus just flat voting.

I am really not fond of the way we do it now.

Fracking and foundations.

We live close to Oklahoma City. There was a quake 4.0 the other day close to us, it shook the house pretty good. My husband noticed a small crack in our patio after this one. He checked around the house after that one and didn't see anything else, no cracks in the drywall or anything like that. I'm not a construction person, could we have foundation damage after this type of quake?

We have earthquake insurance, but my neighbor said we would never be able to prove it was the earthquake and not just the usual foundation issues we have in Oklahoma due to the clay all of our houses are built on.

I saw an article that a lawsuit class action is being prepared by some large legal group to sue the oil companies for fracking. I am at a loss as to what we should do next. Do we call a foundation repair company and see if there is damage, if so, do we just suck it up and get it fixed?

This is getting really frightening. Any advice would be very welcome!

Well my Hillary sign lasted two days.

Stolen overnight last night. It was there when I went to bed and gone when I got up. I am going back to get another one, they won't win.
