A new lawsuit filed Thursday has reminded America U.S. Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) still stands accused by multiple people that he knew of sexual misconduct and abuse at Ohio State, when he served as an asst. coach, yet did nothing.

Thursday’s lawsuit, alleges a referee told Jordan the team doctor masturbated in the shower in front of him, yet Jordan took no action, saying, “Yeah, yeah, we know.” That doctor was found to have abused 177 students.

Outrage and calls are growing for Congressman Jordan, a grenade-throwing conspiracy theorist bulldog who’s devoted recent years to defending President Trump, to resign. After Thursday’s devastating report, Friday morning #JimJordanKnew has been trending on social media............................

U.S. diplomat in Syria releases scathing memo over failure to prevent war crimes and atrocities

The top U.S. diplomat in Syria has written a “scathing” three thousand word memo detailing how Trump’s actions in Syria failed America’s allies and led to the commission of “war crimes and ethnic cleansing” during the Turkish invasion of territory that had been controlled by the Kurds. This is the first such formal complaint about Trump’s Syria debacle to be made public.

Ambassador William “Bill” Roebuck has been with the State Department for over three decades and currently serves as special envoy for the coalition to defeat ISIS and senior adviser for Syria after a lifetime of experience in the Middle East. So his description of the policy in Syria as “a catastrophic sideshow” that happened “because we didn’t try” to prevent the Turkish invasion, it should sting. But since in Trump-land anyone with experience is just condemned as a member of the “deep state” or a “never Trumper,” the only result of this powerful missive is likely to be Roebuck joining many other State Department officials in abrupt retirement.

Roebuck begins his memo with a summary stating that Turkey’s operation in northern Syria represents an “effort at ethnic cleansing, relying on widespread military conflict targeting part the Kurdish heartland along the border and benefiting from several widely publicized, fear-inducing atrocities these forces committed.” He also repeats that these war crimes and atrocities were committed while U.S. forces were on the ground in Syria, a circumstance that “damaged our regional and international credibility.” As a result, the United States has ”lost significant leverage” and been left in a less stable, more dangerous position.

But Roebuck’s particular concern isn’t the “damage to U.S. credibility” or the positioning of more U.S. forces to protect oil reserves than were necessary to protect human lives. His focus is on war crimes and ethnic cleansing. Roebuck believes the U.S. might have halted atrocities even after Trump gave Erdogan the green light to invade Kurdish territory. It would have been difficult, the diplomat admits, “but we won’t know because we didn’t try.”

Trump has repeatedly tried to paint his giving permission to Turkish strongman Recep Erdogan as a “win,” and insisted that the five day get-out-or-die ultimatum issued to Kurdish families after Mike Pence and Mike Pompeo paid a visit to Erdogan was a positive achievement. But graphic videos from the region have shown Kurdish families being gunned down along roadsides by ISIS-aligned militia, and Kurdish families have been forced to flee their homes and become refugees with nowhere left to run.

Newly Released Testimony Implicates Mulvaney Deeper In Ukraine Scandal

White House aides who raised concerns about President Trump’s Ukraine pressure campaign told House investigators that Mick Mulvaney was more deeply involved than previously known, according to deposition transcripts released this week.

“Nobody knew” what two U.S. diplomats running point on the campaign were doing in mid-July, “beyond chief of staff Mulvaney,” former White House aide Fiona Hill testified.

She and others described several indications that Mulvaney had a direct role in the effort, from how often he met with the key players to his involvement in an invitation to Ukraine for a White House visit that was later used as leverage.

Mulvaney himself was subpoenaed for testimony, but blew off the deposition on Friday. As House Democrats move towards the public phase of the impeachment inquiry, they’ve signaled that they believe they already have enough to make their case to the American people — with or without any more cooperating witnesses. The investigation is focused on the efforts by Trump and his allies to secure public announcements from Ukraine of investigations into Joe Biden’s family and conspiracy theories about the 2016 hack of Democratic emails.

From those who have testified, a picture emerges of a White House chief of staff who both sanctioned the investigation request to Ukraine and who more broadly helped to facilitate the implementation of the scheme.......................

NRA drops lawsuit, accepts branding as a 'domestic terrorist organization' by San Francisco

On Thursday, the National Rifle Association dismissed their lawsuit against the city of San Francisco for branding the Second Amendment cult a “domestic terrorist organization.” NRA officials said that they had gotten the satisfaction they were looking for and therefore pulled their lawsuit. Of course, as the San Francisco Chronicle explains, that is a strange bit of spin. After SF Mayor London Breed explained that the resolution did not require the city to limit its interactions with vendors that did business with the NRA, the NRA responded by saying they would not drop their litigation until the city “officially withdraws its unconstitutional threat and makes amends for the harm suffered by the NRA.”

Of course, that hasn’t happened. The NRA is still deemed a “domestic terrorist organization” by San Francisco. San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera released a statement calling the NRA’s decision to dismiss their “frivolous lawsuit,” a good one, but also warned that “If the NRA doesn’t want to be publicly condemned for its actions, it should stop sabotaging common sense gun safety regulations that would protect untold numbers of Americans every year, like universal background checks, an assault weapons ban and restrictions on high-capacity magazines.”..........................

Top EPA official under invesigation for destorying documents

A top Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) political appointee is under investigation about his involvement in destroying important documents that should have been retained, Politico reported late Thursday.

The investigation by EPA’s Office of the Inspector General (OIG) focuses on Ryan Jackson, the chief of staff to agency head Andrew Wheeler.

Politico reported the OIG is trying to determine whether Jackson has routinely destroyed sensitive documents, including schedules and communications with lobbyists. That includes Richard Smotkin, a lobbyist who helped arrange former EPA head Scott Pruitt’s controversial trip to Morocco.

A source told Politico Jackson was repeatedly put on notice that he was improperly handling documents.

“They would scold us on a daily basis and Ryan would say, ‘Oh, I didn’t know, we’ll do better next time,’" a former official told the outlet.

News of the investigation comes as Jackson’s stonewalling of OIG investigators in at least one other investigation has prompted a public battle between the agency and its internal watchdog. ..........................................

MRFF Gets Christian Proselytizing "Pilgrim Heritage" Military Thanksgiving Event Canceled

A while back, a group of about a dozen service members were assigned by their commander to plan this year’s Thanksgiving luncheon for their military organization.

Last year’s event was held at the commander’s off-base church and, according to the service member who ended up contacting the Military Religious Freedom Foundation (MRFF) for help, was, not surprisingly, a Christian proselytizing event, something that the service members did not want repeated this year.

The service members tasked with planning the event told the commander and his staff that this year’s event would not be held at the commander’s church, but would be held in the large conference room on base that is used for other mandatory gatherings. This change of location was reluctantly agreed to by the commander, but he still insisted that Christian prayers would be delivered by himself and the chaplains he had invited to attend. It was at this point that one of the service members contacted MRFF for help.

MRFF founder and president Mikey Weinstein immediately contacted the commander’s superiors, and a few days later the service members were told that there would not be Christian prayers at the event. It appeared that the problem was solved. But then, a few days later, the service members were told that the Christian prayers were back on. Why? Because the event was now going to be called a “Pilgrim Heritage” Thanksgiving luncheon, supposedly making Christian prayers historical and not religious, since the Pilgrims were Christians..................................

News Star says the capacity is expected to be set up for about 7,500 people. Meanwhile, KNOE says that the Monroe Civic Center said capacity will be just under 6,000.

There will be overflow space set up outside that people who can’t attend inside the arena can utilize, which is typical for Trump rallies. A recent Trump rally at a venue with seats for 10,000 needed a lot of overflow space. But his rally at a venue with 20,000 did not need overflow seats...................................

Those attending President Donald Trump’s rally in Monroe, Louisiana seemed to be unwilling to continue on with the rally as it entered its second hour of Trump speaking.

The president was scheduled to begin speaking at 7 p.m. CDT, but as the rally went into 9 p.m. NBC News correspondent took a video showing that supporters began streaming out of the arena.

“The president is speaking and you can see folks streaming out of the arena. It’s just unusual for his rally events. Those who remain are fired up,” Kelly O’Donnell tweeted Wednesday night.

Most Trump rally attendees arrive hours ahead of time and must wait in long lines. They then enter the rally site where there are more hours of speeches ahead of the president. Some people simply can’t go on that long. .....................................
