Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) said that it’s long past time for General Services Administration chief Emily Murphy to authorize President-elect Joe Biden’s transition.
After announcing that Michigan would be certifying the election despite President Donald Trump’s protests, Lieu told Murphy now that contested states like Michigan are done and she has no other justification to refuse to allow the transition to move forward.

Despite his lack of communication with the incoming Biden administration, Slaoui said he “can’t see” the transition impacting vaccine distribution.
“We are focused on making sure that the vaccines are made available as quickly as possible and distributed as efficiently as possible, regardless of the political context that surrounds us. Of course, we would hope that the transition happens quietly and smoothly,” Slaoui told ABC. “We are concerned with anything that could derail the process. They are calling upon the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania to rule against "universal" mail-in ballot provisions.

HARRISBURG (KDKA) — Congressman Mike Kelly and congressional candidate Sean Parnell are requesting the Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania to declare universal mail-in voting unconstitutional in the state and deny the votes of the majority of Pennsylvanians who voted by mail in the Nov. 3 election.
In the official request, the plaintiffs specifically cite issue with Act 77 and its “universal mail-in ballot provisions.”
They allege that the provisions that allow all qualified electors to vote by mail in Pennsylvania are unconstitutional.
As such, they are calling for mail-in ballots that they allege do not meet “Constitutional requirements” to not be certified and for only “legal votes” to be certified or for the Pennsylvania General Assembly to choose the electors and compensate the legal costs of the plaintiffs.
Both Kelly and Parnell are registered Republicans.

In an alternate universe where there was no coronavirus pandemic, President Trump might have been ending his presidency by attending the Group of 20 summit in the same city he visited on his first foreign trip as president: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Instead, the coronavirus has turned the global meeting into a V.I.P. webinar — and left the president to pursue his more regular weekend routine, tweeting and going to the golf course.
On Saturday, Mr. Trump briefly participated in a virtual Group of 20 summit from the Situation Room. But he was not listed as a participant at a sideline event at the conference on “Pandemic Preparedness and Response.” Speakers at the event included Emmanuel Macron, the president of France, and Angela Merkel, Chancellor of Germany.
Instead, Mr. Trump continued the postelection weekend routine he has settled into. He sends out a tweet with a new, empty promise of “fraud” revelations and then heads to his Virginia golf course. It was the third weekend in a row that he has done so......................................

Housing and Urban Development Secretary Ben Carson revealed Friday that he was "extremely sick" from COVID-19. Carson is among several who tested positive for the virus after attending an election night event at the White House.
In a Facebook post Friday, 69-year-old Carson said he initially saw "dramatic improvement" from a product he took, which is not approved by the Food and Drug Administration nor a proven coronavirus treatment.
"However, I have several co-morbidities and after a brief period when I only experienced minor discomfort, the symptoms accelerated and I became desperately ill," wrote Carson, who tested positive for the coronavirus last Monday.
Carson, a member of the White House coronavirus task force, said Mr. Trump cleared him to then receive a monoclonal antibody therapy that was also given to the president when he battled COVID-19 in October. Carson said he believed the treatment saved his life, adding he is "blessed" to have access to what he called the best medical care in the world.
When the president was ill, he received Regeneron's experimental antibody treatment, which is only approved by the FDA on an individual basis during ongoing clinical trials. Regeneron did not immediately confirm to CBS News that Carson received its treatment. .........................

As MSNBC’s Kyle Griffin reported, “Trump is at his golf course again, according to the pool report.”
According to the COVID Tracking Project, more than 1,800 Americans have died per day from the virus over the past three days as this public health crisis continues to worsen.

Doctors are criticizing a hearing held this week by U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisconsin, about controversial treatments for COVID-19, including hydroxychloroquine — a drug that studies have found to be ineffective and in some cases dangerous when treating the disease.
During the hearing, Johnson pushed a baseless theory that the medical community was working to deny patients drugs such as hydroxychloroquine because they were cheaper than other treatments.
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration revoked the emergency use authorization for hydroxychloroquine in June because of its lack of effectiveness and cited its potential for serious cardiac adverse events and other potential serious side effects.

"I believe international, federal and state medical agencies and institutions have let us down," Johnson said. "I fear too many have been close-minded bureaucrats, potentially driven by conflicting interests and agendas."

In late October, a federal judge denied the Department of Justice’s effort to fend off rape allegations against President Donald Trump in a defamation suit on the taxpayer’s dime, but the court’s docket did not catch up with that reality for weeks.
U.S. District Judge Lewis Kaplan made the record abundantly clear in a 1-page order on Friday.
“[T]he docket sheet erroneously lists Mr. [Stephen] Terrell and another attorney as counsel for defendant Trump,” Kaplan wrote, referring to a Justice Department lawyer. “That is incorrect. They represent only the United States.”
Carroll says that Trump defamed her by denying that he raped her in the dressing room of the department store Bergdorf Goodman in the 1990s.
The Justice Department tried to barge into the case in September, insisting that Trump responding to rape allegations with comments like “She’s not my type” is just one of the duties befitting of the President of the United States.....................................
