First on @ABC
: AG Barr has been on official travel in Italy for the past two days, during a week where he has faced intensifying scrutiny over his role in how the DOJ handled the IC's whistleblower complaint. It's unclear why the trip was only just revealed. w/ @jonkarl

Too many Lucky Charms this morning. The fat worm needs to go into a sugar coma so he can be impeached, rolled up and delivered to Tish James.

It doesn’t get more serious than this. It is a betrayal of his oath of office for President Trump to pressure a foreign country to interfere in our elections. And yet that is exactly what @realDonaldTrump
did. #TruthExposed

Top White House officials don't want Lewandowski to lead an impeachment war room

Source: CNN

Updated 6:41 PM ET, Fri September 27, 2019

Washington (CNN)Top White House officials appear to be souring on talk of bringing in former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski to lead a rapid response war room for an impeachment fight. Acting chief of staff Mick Mulvaney is now opposed to the idea, a White House official told CNN.

"No one here sees a need for adding to the inside team," the official said. "Corey isn't coming as of now," the official said, adding Mulvaney will not hire Lewandowski unless he's asked to do so by President Donald Trump.

Trump was upset when he saw news reports about a Lewandowski-led war room, furious that the story suggested he needed help in dealing with the Ukraine investigation, a source familiar with the matter said.

Kellyanne Conway, counselor to the President, dismissed the idea when speaking to reporters on Friday.

"You're getting that from people who want to create an impeachment war room, to either try and get back in or get in the front door in the first place. Why would he do that?" she said.....................................

So, trumpy thinks he and his staff can take on the Impeach by themselves? fine. fine fine!

For Ukraine help, Giuliani turned to unlikely Florida fixers

Source: AP

By MICHAEL BIESECKER and DESMOND BUTLER 14 minutes ago

WASHINGTON (AP) — When President Donald Trump wanted Ukrainian authorities to investigate his Democratic rival Joe Biden, Rudy Giuliani turned to a pair of Soviet-born business partners from Florida who made more than a half-million dollars in political donations to Republicans while facing lawsuits from disgruntled investors over unpaid debts.

Documents show Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman used wire transfers from a company they controlled to make a $325,000 donation to a Trump-allied political action committee in 2018. That was on top of $100,000 in earlier donations to Trump and GOP candidates that helped the relatively unknown entrepreneurs quickly gain access to the highest levels of the Republican Party — including face-to-face meetings with the president at the White House and Mar-a-Lago.

“Thank You President Trump !!! Making America great !!!!!!,” Parnas wrote in a May 2018 Facebook post showing him and Fruman with Trump at a dinner in the president’s private residence at The White House.

The big May 2018 donation to American First Action was part of a flurry of political spending tied to Parnas and Fruman, with at least $478,000 in donations flowing to GOP campaigns and PACs in little more than two months.

It is not yet clear when the two men first met Giuliani, President Trump’s personal attorney. But earlier this year, according to Ukrainian media reports, Parnas and Fruman were spotted in Kyiv, where they were frequent visitors to then-Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko, who sought to portray himself as an uncompromising fighter against corruption.

Multiple Ukrainian media outlets later named Parnas and Fruman as helping arrange a January meeting in New York between Lutsenko and Giuliani, as well as other meetings with key government officials.............................................

A rare mosquito-borne virus known as EEE or Eastern Equine Encephalitis is on the rise in several states. In hard-hit Michigan, they're warning people in high-risk areas not to go outside after dusk and before dawn.

Public health officials throughout the country are cautioning against the rise of a rare mosquito-borne virus known as East Equine Encephalitis (EEE) that has produced an abnormally high number of deaths this year.

According to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), EEE is a rare cause of brain infections and it is most common "in and around freshwater hardwood swamps in the Atlantic and Gulf Coast states and the Great Lakes region."

At least 10 people have died due to the virus this year and the worst outbreaks have occurred in Michigan and New England. In 2018, CDC data shows that only one person died and there were just six total cases of EEE throughout the country.

In Connecticut, the state’s department of transportation has been posting warnings about EEE on highway signs after a second Connecticut resident recently died due to the virus. In Michigan, school officials have moved up the start times for high school football games so more of the games are played in daylight, when mosquitoes are less frequent. ...............................

Blizzard vs snow storm explained 01:20

(CNN)A significant winter storm will blast through the northern Rocky Mountains this weekend.
"This has the potential to be a historically significant early-season snow event," the National Weather Service in Great Falls, Montana, said.

..............

Livestock is also at risk and the National Weather Service warns, "make sure livestock and pets also have the essentials that they will need during the storm."

A cold front with strong winds and near-record cold air will move through Idaho and Montana on Friday. It will be followed by another low-pressure system that will stall over the region Friday night through Sunday.

With unseasonably cold air already in place, wet, heavy snow is likely from the valleys to the mountain tops.
