4) A Common Trait Among Mass Killers: Hatred Toward Women
By Julie Bosman, Kate Taylor and Tim Arango
Aug. 10, 2019
The man who shot nine people to death last weekend in Dayton, Ohio, seethed at female classmates and threatened them with violence.
The man who massacred 49 people in an Orlando nightclub in 2016 beat his wife while she was pregnant, she told authorities.
The man who killed 26 people in a church in Sutherland Springs, Tex., in 2017 had been convicted of domestic violence. His ex-wife said he once told her that he could bury her body where no one would ever find it.
The motivations of men who commit mass shootings are often muddled, complex or unknown. But one common thread that connects many of them other than access to powerful firearms is a history of hating women, assaulting wives, girlfriends and female family members, or sharing misogynistic views online, researchers say.

I AM NOT ALWAYS VERY ATTACHED TO BEING ALIVE
Chronic, passive suicidal ideation is like living in the ocean. Lets start talking about how to tread water.
By Anna Borges APR022019 09:07AM EST
I wish there was a nicer way to say this, but I dont always want to be alive. Right now, I dont actively want to kill myself I dont have a plan, I dont check the majority of the boxes on lists of warning signs of suicide, I have a life I enjoy and Im curious about the future but the fact remains, I dont always feel strongly about being alive and sometimes, on particularly bad days, I truly want to die.
Its been a long time since that statement felt anything but mundane. In middle school and high school, there were the morbid poems, the self-harm, the overwhelming emotions that everyone dutifully labeled teen angst. In college, there were nights when I drank too much and the protective barriers keeping my depression at bay faded to nothing and the thought came to me unbidden, as seductive as it was scary. I want to die. Eventually, I finally stumbled my way into treatment. After that, I celebrated each birthday with surprise because each age I hit was one I assumed I wouldnt reach.
At 27, Ive settled into a comfortable coexistence with my suicidality. Weve made peace, or at least a temporary accord negotiated by therapy and medication. Its still hard sometimes, but not as hard as you might think. What makes it harder is being unable to talk about it freely: the weightiness of the confession, the impossibility of explaining that it both is and isnt as serious as it sounds. I dont always want to be alive. Yes, I mean it. No, you shouldnt be afraid for me. No, Im not in danger of killing myself right now. Yes, I really mean it.
How do you explain that?
In the United States, nearly 45,000 people die by suicide every year, making it the tenth leading cause of death in the country. On average, there are 123 suicides a day. Thats not counting those who survive attempts estimated to be about 1.4 million in 2017.

AFFORDABLE MEDICINE FOR ALL
A Plan to Slash Drug Prices and Boost Medical Innovation
We are living in a golden age of medical innovation. Medicines have vastly extended life expectancy for people with Hodgkin's lymphoma and cystic fibrosis, protected us from many viruses and certain cancers, and put us within reach of ending the AIDS epidemic for good.
Yet, far too many of us are denied access to the benefits of these breakthrough treatments and potentially life-saving medicines.1 Drugs in the United States are more expensive than drugs anywhere else in the world.2 Americans pay an average of $600 a year more for prescription drugs than residents of most other developed countries.3 While millions of Americans struggle to pay for medicine, pharmaceutical companies are enjoying record profits and remain the most profitable companies in the entire health industry.

I support this premise. Additionally, it is an addiction to stress that causes many
To "go for more" eventually losing the ability to forego the physiological addiction. The body becomes familiar with this stress often requiring more, to the point of actually craving the stressor. The form of the stimulus of viewed stress can be via television or even radio. Thus creating the vicious cycle that eventually disintegrates the ability to reject the stress and seek other more logical and less damaging sources of stimulation. Television can easily be a barrier to truthful interactions in the real world. TV, mobile devices and computers have all been reported as harbingers of stress while we often treat them as benign.

50 Foods You Should Never Eat, According to Health Experts
Doctors and dietitians share the foods they refuse to eat due to pesticides, GMOs, and carcinogenic ingredients.
By The Editors Of Prevention
May 21, 2019
What's the one food you refuse to eat? Whatever it is, it's probably because you don't like the way it tastesnot because it contains ingredients that can be damaging to your health. Yet, there are still a lot of foods that fit this description on store shelves, and food industry insiders, who know what goes on behind the scenes, refuse to eat them.
We polled some of those insiderspeople who know the business and work daily to evict pesticides, genetically modified organisms (GMOs), animal cruelty, social injustice, and unhealthy foods from the food supplyto find out what they know about the dark side of "convenience" foods and what they will eat instead. Take note so you, too, can avoid the worst of what grocery stores have to offer.
Whole-wheat bread
The problem: Modern wheat is nothing like the grain your mother or grandmother consumed. Today, wheat barely resembles its original form, thanks to extensive genetic manipulations during the 1960s and 1970s to increase the grain's yields. "You cannot change the basic characteristics of a plant without changing its genetics, its biochemistry, and its effects on humans who consume it," says William Davis, MD, creator of Wheat Belly 10-Day Detox.
Davis makes the case that modern-day wheat is triggering all sorts of health problems, everything from digestive diseases like celiac and inflammatory bowel disease to acid reflux, obesity, asthma, and skin disorders.
The solution: Try eliminating wheat altogether from your diet for a few weeks to see if you note health improvements. But be prepared for the wheat withdrawal syndrome of nausea, headache, fatigue, depression, and a host of other strange side effects.

I would definitely try AARP. Their supplemental policies are very good but you have to join AARP.
There are other benefits of joining but you may be looking for different coverage. I just know that they have worked for me. There are other benefits that you may not want or need but I would definitely check them out.
