And in PA, Conservative State Representative Daryl Metcalfe came out as a heterosexual
"Mr. Metcalfe's comments, captured on video, came after the committee's ranking Democrat, state Rep. Matt Bradford of Montgomery County, was trying to make a point about a bill having to do with land use and, for a split second, laid his hand on Mr. Metcalfe's left forearm. The two were seated side by side at a conference table.
'Representative Bradford,' said Mr. Metcalfe, interrupting Mr. Bradford in mid-sentence. 'Look, I’m a heterosexual. I have a wife, I love my wife. I don’t like men, as you might. But stop touching me all the time.'
He then added: 'It’s like keep your hands to yourself. Like, if you want to touch somebody, you have people on your side of the aisle that might like it. I don’t.'"

Response from a disabled veteran regarding the flag controversy...
A friend of mine posted this on facebook today:
"I responded to a 'disrespectful to the flag/country' comment with this: You are also entitled to your opinion but consider this. My husband is a disabled veteran who fought and served proudly, but he says this 'I didn't fight for a flag, I didn't serve for a country...I fought and served for the people of this country; for their rights and freedom. It's not love of country or flag, it's love of its people.'"
Hypocritical PA Congressman Tim Murphy issued a statement about an extramarital affair today.
For background, Murphy:
- Voted YES on Constitutional Amendment banning same-sex marriage.
- Voted YES on Constitutionally defining marriage as one-man-one-woman.
- Rated 100% by the Christian Coalition
- “I believe in holy matrimony as a union between one man and one woman.”

Senator Toomey, my name is ______. I live in _____, PA. I’ve been following with great interest the attempt to repeal the Affordable Care Act and to replace it with legislation that trades the health insurance of millions of Americans for tax cuts for the rich. And I find it to be most disturbing to find out that you led the push in the Senate to make the devastating cuts to Medicaid. Medicaid is the program in this country that provides health insurance to one in five Americans, of which 30 million are children and 67% of the people in nursing homes. Included in that group are hundreds of thousands of Pennsylvanians, a number that could grow to over a million in the next ten years. I also find it equally disturbing that handicapped individuals who were peacefully protesting outside Senator McConnell’s office were physically removed by the capital police for doing nothing more than exercising their right to free speech. But I guess that should be expected, since although you claim that you received “lots of outside input,” this bill was drafted by 13 men without one single woman or public hearing. Senator Toomey, with all due respect, you work for the citizens of Pennsylvania, not the RNC, not the Club for Growth, and not for any of the other special interest groups that fund your campaigns. It is my hope that you would consider not only that fact, but also the life-threatening impact that this bill would have hundreds of thousands of your constituents and millions of Americans, and as such would go back to the drawing board to come up with a solution that addresses the concerns of the 95% of the people in this country who are not making $250,000 per year or more.
