LeftInTX's JournalSledding near Boulder
Going to be traveling to Boulder with family and my little grandson. (1.5 years old and never seen snow)
Looks like Boulder probably won't have snow. Is there sledding near Boulder?
Son and DIL will be taking the shuttle to Eldora to ski. But it seems like Eldora is a bit too much just to take my grandson sledding. He will probably enjoy sledding for a half hour or so.
Thanks in advance!

McConnell: I'm under attack
I get this email from Mitch McConnell.
I don't know why I'm on their lists...I think it was when a bunch of us got together and spammed their online surveys..
Someone made a classical version of 'Barbie Girl' because the world is ending
https://www.classicfm.com/music-news/videos/barbie-girl-classical-version/
Were not sure what we did to deserve this video, but here we are. This is Im a Barbie Girl, if it had been written in 1835.
Somebody has made a classical version of Aquas 1997 pop hit Barbie Girl.
The arrangement sees the iconic 90s song performed in a new-age operatic style, accompanied by a Chopin nocturne on the piano and some slightly sinister narrative passages.
Its conceptual and whacky (just why is Barbie played by a pink Ken, when theres an actual female Barbie in the video they couldve used?) and a little dark in places but also an undeniable must-see.
I saw Joe Biden today!!!
He had a rally in San Antonio. About 600 people were there.
Afterward, he took as many selfies as possible, but he finally had to give up before he could get to us. I was only about 20 feet away from him when he spoke.
Other than a few Trumpers invading the rally, it was a great event!
Cornyn and Blumenthal introduced Affordable Prescriptions for Patients Act of 2019
On Twitter Cornyn blamed Chuck Schumer for lack of movement in this bill.
I tried reading the bill and it seems a bit lackluster...do we have any lawyers who want to go over it? Sometimes we can get bipartisan bills with good sounding names, but the bills often benefit drug companies and Blumenthal is from an area with pharma companies. I can't make heads or tails out of this bill. It seems like mumbo-jumbo.
The bill is relatively bipartisan with 5 Dems, plus Angus King (6) and 7 GOP Cosponsors.
Thanks to anyone who can interpret this!

Here's part of the bill. Kept it short to avoid copyright.....
(1) PRIMA FACIE.Except as provided in paragraph (2), a manufacturer of a reference product or listed drug shall be considered to have engaged in an unfair method of competition in or affecting commerce in violation of section 5(a) if the Commission demonstrates by a preponderance of the evidence in a proceeding initiated by the Commission under subsection (c)(1)(A), or in a suit brought under subparagraph (B) or (C) of subsection (c)(1), that, during the period beginning on the date on which the manufacturer of the reference product or listed drug first receives notice that an applicant has submitted to the Commissioner of Food and Drugs an abbreviated new drug application or biosimilar biological product license application and ending on the date that is 180 days after the date on which that generic drug or biosimilar biological product is first marketed, the manufacturer engaged in either of the following actions:

(ii) The manufacturer marketed or sold a follow-on product.
Yikes! Kamala Harris Aide Resigns With Scathing Letter: Staff Treated "Poorly," No "Real Plan to Win
This is being reported by numerous outlets. I really was excited about Kamala. However, in her first debate her delivery was not the best. I also noticed this in other debates. I believe she performed her best in the November debate. I really wanted her to succeed. They are also pointing to the fact that her sister is her campaign chairwoman (makes me cringe)
The unhappiness within Harris team was evident in the resignation letter of Kelly Mehlenbacher, the campaigns state operations director, in November. This is my third presidential campaign and I have never seen an organization treat its staff so poorly, Mehlenbacher wrote, criticizing the leaders of the campaign for laying off staffers without notice. She went on to say that with less than 90 days until Iowa we still do not have a real plan to win. Even though Mehlenbacher emphasized that she still thinks Harris is the strongest candidate for the general election, I no longer have confidence in our campaign or its leadership.
Many of those the Times spoke to seem to lay much of the blame for the current situation on two people: Maya Harris, the campaign chairwoman, and Juan Rodriguez, the campaign manager. Maya Harris is the senators sister so she often goes unchallenged and campaign adies say that it isnt clear who is actually in charge. They also point the finger at Harris herself, noting that she often waffled and didnt seem clear of where she wanted to go, never actually choosing a side in the liberals vs moderates battle that has come to dominate the Democratic contest.
It seems many people close to the senator have been upfront with her that she needs to shake things up. Rep. Marcia Fudge, who endorsed Harris, says she must fire Rodriguez. But at the same time, she acknowledged Harris herself was to blame for at least some of the problems within the campaign. I have told her there needs to be a change, Fudge said. The weakness is at the top. And its clearly Juan. He needs to take responsibility thats where the buck stops. Harris declined to be interviewed for the piece.

I'm sure getting lots of spam from Republicans!
I don't know why I'm on their radar. I think it was because we trolled several Trump and Cruz surveys.
We also trolled the Ted Cruz campaign. I also visited his and Cornyn's office and sent them emails (Although it could be illegal for them to harvest email addresses via emails sent to the office)
I never got this type of spam during 2018.
They also are calling my house. The DNC calls. 2 secs later the RNC calls.
Anyone else getting lots of spam from Republicans?
(Don't respond to online surveys...LOL)
After Chick-fil-A halts anti-LGBTQ donations, Gov. Greg Abbott says he's going to Bill Miller Bar-B-
Later that evening, Texas Governor Greg Abbott tweeted a link to a news report about the change and wrote "I'm headed to Bill Miller's tonight."
Critics have called Abbott's tweet homophobic, claiming Republicans' issue with Chick-fil-A was never about religious freedom but oppression of LGBTQ rights.
Bill Miller Bar-B-Q came under fire over the summer after a tweet sent out by Rep. Joaquin Castro named the 44 major donors from San Antonio to President Donald Trump's re-election campaign, including Balous Miller, owner of the Bill Miller Bar-B-Q restaurant chain.

I reported the Tweet to Twitter because it was discriminatory against sexual orientation. The tweet is still there. Maybe Twitter doesn't realize it's the governor of Texas. For those of us on Twitter, it only takes a few clicks to report a Tweet
