Let us hope any hesitant Democrats or independents will consider the Supreme

Court vacancy when voting for President and for Senate.
This is a very important election, despite enthusiasm not as great as in 2008.

Looking forward to a good Democratic convention next week.

Would not an older driver drive less frequently and fewer miles, on average,

than a younger driver?
Would not a retiree log fewer miles, on average, than an employed person?

At any rate, a 6% jump in one year seems excessive, especially at age 65, when average life expectancy in the US is nearing age 80.

Would Progressive expect to raise the premium 6% every year?
That would be unsustainable for most drivers, as well as unreasonable.

Huge embarassment to Trump campaign.

Reveals how amateurish Donald's team really is.
They'll never live this down.
And they've embarrassed Melania in a terrible way - made her look foolish and dishonest.

July 19, 2016

Sounds as though it ended even worse, with Melania's speech shown to have

been at least partly plagiarized from Michelle Obama's speech in 2008.
Last I heard, Trump and Co. hasn't responded to this problem, but they'll have to.
Stay tuned.

A friend from Erie PA used the term "mistake by the Lake" in the mid-50's,

so the term has been around a lot longer than the late 1960s.

She said it referred to Erie, but perhaps the term was used derogatorily about any city on the Great Lakes.

I'm looking for alternative programming this week, as I won't be watching

the Repub convention.
Steve Harvey's not my cup of tea, though I do watch some Family Feud sessions in a pinch.

Hoping Public TV has some good options this week; I don't expect much alternative from C-SPAN which is frequently my go-to when other TV offers nada.

Sorry, Chris, Trump's kids made the decision.

They were able to recognize that you, Chris, didn't bring enough of what Donald needs to the ticket.
They're having enough of a hard time controlling their Dad Donald, without having another undisciplined speaker to lasso in.

Some, including myself, believe Trump would resign the Presidency at some point,

if he were to be elected president.
Perhaps Christie, and even Pence, believe there's a strong likelihood that would happen.

That could certainly account for major disappointment for Christie, who could have seen himself rising to be TopDog at a future point.

May we never see the day that Trump is elected President of the US.

Love Francis, but I suggest that the reverse would work very well also.

Or -pray before and after feeding the hungry.
Or - Feed hungry, pray, feed again.

It's all good.

Does anyone claim Pence is a practicing Catholic?

I realize he was brought up in the Catholic faith, but understood that upon his marriage (and remarriage) to a wife who is an evangelical Christian, that he didn't identify as a Catholic any longer.

Correct me if I'm wrong (with sources.)
