No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalGov. McAuliffe has lots of competition in this regard.
Both Chicago (Rahm Emmanuel invitation) and Cincinnati (Councilman Chris Seelbach) have already put out the welcome mat.
Probably many more that we're not even aware of.
Gov. Pence has sure stepped in the doo-doo.
So sad. My sympathy for your daughter and for you.
Prayers that you and she will have all the support needed to get through this sad event.
Hunter, we celebrate that you've had great results with meds and have
a support system that is there for you and that has gotten you to the place you want to be.
My point is that some conditions, (ex. autism and /or some Aspergers) are referred to as mental illness and meds and support are not enough to change the condition to what one would hope or wish for.
The term "mental illness" is so broad it lacks any real meaning.
Too all-encompassing without giving enough specifics to explain what's really going on.
"Mental illness" also leads to the expectation that a "fix" or "cure" is possible, as in medication, when some psychological problems are immutable, as in personality disorders.
Gary Wills was on a book talk on C-SPAN this weekend re his new book
concerning the Catholic Church and Pope Francis. During the question period, the question above was posed - " Why do more non-Catholics like the Pope than Catholics do." Wills replied, "Because he is like Jesus."
Describing himself as a former conservative turned liberal, Wills presented a most interesting discussion of past and current Catholic thought, ranging from Augustine to Aquinas to recent popes John Paul II and Benedict to Bergolio's Argentinian/Jesuit history to Francis I today.
In addition to the column cited above, I would recommend finding this broadcast on the C-SPAN site and getting the full broadcast of an enlightening discussion by Gary Wills.
You may not agree with his every thought, but will likely find it interesting and thought-provoking.
Sounds like Luntz at work again. nt
I don't know if it is Adam, but there must be a reason this is mentioned.
If there were no reason or meaning, there would be no need to include this incident in the Gospels.
Your explanation is rather poetic, or deep. I'm just not sure.
That's okay, Mikey; you can double-down or the law can be changed.
Either way, the stink will remain in the air of Indiana for a long time.
Stickers are one, inexpensive way of reaching the public who are right there
in front of your door. They are certainly effective, especially for the smaller businesses.
Newspaper ads reach out to those still considering whether they will visit the region, and if so, where they will stay, eat, etc. Ads are something a Chamber of Commerce can organize and put together.
It's not necessarily either/or.
I know quite a bit aboout PG Sittenfeld - he's a city councilman
in my hometown.
He has money and contacts, but, unfortunately, has generated local controversy by flip-flop - er, changing his mind- on his campaign promise, as well as saying he would drop out of the Senate race if Strickland entered. Br, other than that, PG has quite a future.i
