No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalThanks to all for your prayers and concern; it meant a lot.
Happy to report that Ann has returned to her living space today, weak but on the mend.
The seizures lasted at least 4 hours, though she was sedated and intubated on arrival at the nearest hospital and seizures were then weak.
She was in the neuro-ICU at the major hospital for about 1 week, with breathing tubes removed after two days.
Enzymes which indicate heart damage were over-the-top; a heart catheterization was done, showing several blockages.
The blockages will be stented in several weeks. I guess you could say she had a heart attack.
I have been told no definitive reason for the seizures and what followed.
I'm so grateful for the prayer support of DU Prayer circle, as well as to the medical personnel who helped Ann reach this stage of recovery.
Some local historical societies may collect such pamphlets.
Note: museums and historical societies usually reserve the right to discard gift materials considered not sufficiently relevant to their collections.
You'll hear them calling into CSPAN, especially when they have calls divided by
Dems, Repubs, Independents, etc.
It's hard to listen to their "reasoning", but it's out there, believe me.
Her name is Ann. We love her. She is in good hands and family will give her all support we are
capable of.
Please pray for family member stricken tonight with extended seizures; taken to ER, breathing tube.
Update below: 1/27/19
She has never before had a seizure; had previous illnesses of uncontrolled diabetes, kidney disease, and stroke.
She will be transferred to this area's largest hospital, where neurologists can monitor electronically her brain function, etc.
I was with her when this occurred; I thought I was losing her.
I have no idea what will follow, but believe prayer united can be powerful.
I was in college in Tarrytown when the Tappan Zee Bridge was built - mid 1950's.
Every day we heard the loud pounding of motors and machines putting in place the structures for that awesome long bridge to Nyack and western New York.
Then, finally, went to the dedication, at which Gov. Averill Harriman spoke.
Memories...
Time flies...
Thomas Merton was a Trappist monk, at a monastery in Gethsemani, KY.
The formal name of the order may be Cistercians.
Some orders of nuns may also use silence in their contemplation, including the Carmelites and some Dominicans.
Watching, even hearing, Individual1 erodes the soul; even 8 minutes is too long.
I get more than enough discussion of the national topics from informed newscasters.
I hope Public television has good alternatives tonight. - Perhaps Antiques Roadshow.
I will watch Speaker Pelosi and Sen. Schumer, however.
Generalizations make statements less accurate, thus less powerful.
If one says "Some religionists are willing.....etc.", the statement may have validity.
Overstatements defeat the purpose intended.
