No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalUnfortunately, a weak field.
Mostly Dems, one independent.
They will run in a primary and the strongest two will run against one another.
No one there who will help make Ohio a Dem. state.
In the past, Cincinnati had strong mayors, selected by the council.
Now, direct election of mayor, and great candidates have not been attracted.

Great fun singing the old and the new.

Arguing with dumbheads is not worth the breath it takes.
Sweet!...
I was back at my parish church for Mass for the first time in a year this weekend.
Everything was right for me: two vaccines, sunny day, feeling well.
I plotted my day to go to Saturday afternoon Mass.
Parked fairly easily, found the interior as I had been told - every other pew blocked off.
Crowd light compared to last year.
Instead of persons taking the collection, a central basket was in the center near the entrance to the church.
Large hymnals replaced by selections printed in the bulletin.
However, I felt an interior joy, excitement mixed with peace, to be back in this "home for my soul".
I feel I've aged a lot during this lost year - slower and not as steady afoot.
But I'm back in the familiar place where I was baptized so many decades ago, and where my spouse and I brought our children each Sunday throughout their formative years.
Life will be good again.
I would love to see Jill Biden sit in on Cabinet meetings, as Rosslyn Carter did in 1970's.
Jill, while maintaining a distinct personality of her own, is clearly her husband's "helpmeet", as they used to say.
He obviously relies on her love and support.
Her just being in the room at Cabinet meetings would allow to feel and observe the nuances of the various attendees.
Give it a try.
The feast of St. Blaise is celebrated on Feb. 3 in the Roman tradition;
However, I would call on his intercession on any day as needed.
Most especially in this season of raw throats, and the need to keep throats healthy as they are gateways to the Covid virus.
Apparently he is planning more of his "rallies", according to TV report tonight.
These seem to give him his mojo , or whatever it is he's needing.
I can't imagine anything worse than hearing more of his bluster.
They'll have to use medical records and post mortem reports,
as Officer Sicknick was apparently cremated.
Also any records from before Jan. 6.
I hope they can accurately pin down the cause of his death and any person(s) responsible.
