Even conservatives admit the Benghazi show trial was a flop and say it improves HRC in primary polls

BEating up the GOP has helped HRC in the polls and her position going into the New Hampshire primary---

Right-wing tears of disappointment shouldn’t be so satisfying, but after a marathon day of Republicans on the House Select Committee on Benghazi badgering Hillary Clinton about Sidney Blumenthal and her email habits, ending the day with a bit of gratification at the expense of right-wingers’ disappointment seems warranted.

Clinton---cunning baffling and powerful--Debate, Biden, Benghazi, Webb, Chafee

she is playing this run for President as if Vince Lombardi is coaching her ---the past few weeks are not happenstance ----strategic moves on her part are all orchestrated ----the rehearsals for both the debate and the Benghazi hearings have been going on since she left SOS ----the timing of the Biden announcement just before the Benghazi hearing is right out of the Clinton playbook and is part of the Obama agreement to help her in this run ----Webb's departure the day after makes exactly the kind of headlines she needs and the increase in donations was all structured and planned to make Gowdy and company look foolish --she is on a roll----I know it's early ---and she has tripped herself before ----but i really think this campaign has better polling and she is listening to her pollsters ---

Benghazi hearing floods Clinton campaign coffers with cash

Call it the Committee To Increase Hillary Clinton's Fundraising.

Donations have been flooding into campaign coffers over the past 13 hours since her testimony in front of the House Benghazi committee wrapped late Thursday night, thrilling Clinton fundraisers on the eve of a weekend-long finance committee meeting that couldn’t have come at a better time. According to communications director Jennifer Palmieri, the hour between 9:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. last night was their best fundraising hour of the campaign to date.

Updated New Hampshire Primary Source: After watching Benghazi hearing, key Democrat backs Clinton

REISCHE BACKS HILLARY. One of the state’s most influential Democratic activists decided Thursday to endorse Hillary Clinton for president after watching her handle what he called “bizarre antics” from Republican on the House Select Committee on Benghazi.

Attorney Alan Reische told New Hampshire Source he had “hemmed and hawed” over backing Clinton until watching her testimony. He wrote that she showed “enormous courage, patience and dignity.”

“Her response to this inquisition has dispelled any doubts I might have had about her candidacy,” Reische wrote. “I’m on board with her.”

Bad news for Sanders if he falls behind in New Hampshire

If Sanders falls behind in New Hampshire, it will be very bad news for his campaign. Not only is New Hampshire right next door to Sanders’s home state, Vermont, it’s also filled with his base voters: white liberals. If Clinton wins New Hampshire, it’s probably a sign that Sanders won’t be competitive in most states outside of Vermont.

Hillary Clinton Got The Biggest Post-Debate Polling Bounce

Hillary Clinton got some good news Wednesday, when Vice President Joe Biden announced that he wouldn’t run for the Democratic nomination for president. And she’s testifying before the House Select Committee on Benghazi today. So there’s a lot going on in the news that could affect the polls. But here’s what we know right now: Clinton’s post-debate polling bump looks real.

Lincoln Chafee’s Polling Was … Consistent, At Least

http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/lincoln-chafee-2016-election/

Lincoln Chafee, a former governor and senator from Rhode Island, decided to end his campaign for the Democratic nomination for president today. Chafee’s campaign was quixotic and, well, funny from the start, but he seems like a decent-enough guy, so I wanted to give Chafee his polling due (and a fond farewell).

Here’s Chafee’s three-poll rolling average1 in live-interview national surveys this year:

About New Haven

A child of the 60's, a lifelong Democrat and a sense that our elected officials , especially the President, set the tone of civility in our great country. I worked on JFK's campaign and on Barack Obama's (twice). High School Class of 1963 I was moved by MLK's March on Washington, and to see that go full circle and have Barack Obama for President is quite gratifying. When I see remnants of the John Birch society still quite active in the Tea Party/MAGA it strengthens my beliefs and support of the Democratic Party.
