Don't Let Bigotry and Prejudice Percolate

Some the reasonings i've read on the two cases before the SCOTUS uttered by the Justices appears to along the line of not wanting to get ahead of the country by issuing a wide ranging ruling.

So Bigotry needs to percolate longer so the teabaggers and red Staters catch up.

Don't think so.

It would be a true travesty of justice to let the worst in some people, keep some of the best people achieve full and equal opportunity in society.

No weapon for Mark Kelly

Apparently there is a new codicil to the background check on weapons that disqualifies you from purchasing a weapon if the purchase is based on "political intent."

snip:

"In a statement posted to Facebook, Diamondback Police Supply owner Doug MacKinlay said that he was blocking the former astronaut’s Second Amendment right because he questioned the political “intent” behind the purchase."

Astronauts qualified to fly shuttles, not own weapons.

Wonder if Mr. NRA will come to his defense. Doubtful.

Battle Cry of the Red Stater

"It's your own fault!"

Can't find a job after getting layed off--you didn't look hard enough.

Child has health condition that will prevent them from ever getting health insurance--get those health savings accounts going early parents.

Car insurance shorts you on your totaled, payed off car after drunk driver hits you--you should have had better insurance.

Personal responsibility while walking the carney midway--scammers aren't the problem, you should know the scams in advance. That is the United States today.

59 dollar raise

Snip:
Incomes for the bottom 90 percent of Americans only grew by $59 on average between 1966 and 2011 (when you adjust those incomes for inflation), according to an analysis by Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist David Cay Johnston for Tax Analysts. During the same period, the average income for the top 10 percent of Americans rose by $116,071, Johnston found. To put that into perspective: if you say the $59 boost is equivalent to one inch, then the incomes of the top 10 percent of Americans rose by 168 feet, Johnston explained to Alternet last week.

Crooked wheel, thumb on the scale, flim-flamming, rigged game.

Rigged, obscene drug company profits

The SCOTUS is examining a case today to whether it is illegal for major drug companies to pay off companies not to sell generics of their best selling drugs.

NOOOO anti-trust violation there.

What a rigged system designed for the profits of the very few sacrificing the health of the public along the way.

Defeating Useless Rich People

Another excellent article on combating the destructive moochers infesting our society.

snip:

"To counter the domination of America’s rentier oligarchs, we need an Anti-Rentier campaign that would unite unlikely groups: owners of productive businesses as well as workers, populist conservatives and liberal reformers. An Anti-Rentier movement would distinguish businesses that make profits by providing worthwhile goods or services in innovative ways from rentier interests that passively extract exorbitant tolls and fees from the economy without adding any value."

Wash. Post Fails to Print Article Critical Of Media Leading Up to Irag War

What a fucking surprise.

The Washington Post Editorial Board, who were cheerleaders for the war, were silent on the anniversary of the war it helped inflame.

Now they refuse to print an article that was critical of the lap dog media because the article

snip:
"it didn't draw the "broader analytical points or insights" the paper was looking for on the topic of Iraq War"

The same guys will be beating the war drums in the future and have learned nothing except to cover bury their shit before it starts to stink.

I hate this for profit, price gouging, health care system

Article in local paper describes this:

A woman has an illness that no insurance company will cover and she won't make it till exchanges are set up, nor does she have the money to buy insurance from the pre-existing condition pool.

Our Red State Gov pulled funding for people who don't earn enough money or can't get insurance.

She just turned 26 so she is off her parents plan.

She can apply for SSDI and maybe get some coverage with that but she will die before the paperwork is finished.

She is basically told to go home and die.

There is your actual death panel brought to you by private insurance and Red State Tea Baggers.

I hate them all.

Don't arrest me

For clipping the article on how you can't clip an article or so says Federal Judge.

Probably only a commercial thing, but it does give one pause.

Rich Moochers Destroying the Economy

snip

"In a previous column detailing the true “makers” and “takers” in America, I argued that the greatest threat to American capitalism today comes not from public taxation supporting public programs, but from “private taxation” in the form of excessive private “rents” that subsidize private sector parasites or “rentiers” (like landlords, lenders and providers of health insurance and healthcare). These excessive private taxes or rents are costs on productive enterprise that can be as crippling as excessive public taxation."

Article details who the real takers are.
