Old Fogey and the Beatles
I was in a store today when a random Beatles song was piped in. My thought was that song, which I can't recall the title of, was better than anything I hear on the hear radio by miles.
Probably just means I am a grumpy old man shouting "get off my record player."

Ryan tells States not to sign up for ACA and to wait for Republican Health Care Plan.
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/paul-ryan-states-obamacaresnip:
A top House Republican says states should avoid setting up Obamacare exchanges as a way to protect insurance subsidies for their residents if the Supreme Court erases them on the federally-run marketplace.
"Oh God, no The last thing anybody in my opinion would want to do, even if you are not a conservative, is consign your state to this law," Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), the chair of the powerful Ways & Means Committee, told state legislators on a Thursday conference call, according to the Wall Street Journal.
Instead, Ryan urged them to sit tight while Congress works on introducing legislation to reform health care, saying it would drop by June 20.

WASHINGTON -- It's hard to believe freshman Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) caused such a stir in the Senate with his letter to Iran even before his maiden floor speech. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas), who led an unsuccessful fight against Obamacare, couldn't even do that.
But Cotton -- now famous for orchestrating the controversial letter to Iran with the signatures of 46 of his GOP colleagues -- finally got the chance to do just that on Monday evening. Cotton began, as one does, with Adolf Hitler.
I guess Harvard Law never covered Godwin's Law. Rethugs are scammers and fear merchants. Unfortunately, people are now probably uncovering their vintage fallout shelters and remodeling them with duct tape and plastic sheets--the Shrub redo.

Let's see, average Americans have no influence on elections and corporations have no allegiance to America. That, my fellow DUers, is the truth of American exceptionalism.
Despite "improving economy"why Americans are screwed and Europeans are not.
http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2015/03/robert-reich-why-americans-are-screwed-and-europeans-are-not/snip:
The U.S. economy is picking up steam but most Americans arent feeling it. By contrast, most European economies are still in bad shape, but most Europeans are doing relatively well.
Whats behind this? Two big facts
First, American corporations exert far more political influence in the United States than their counterparts exert in their own countries.
In fact, most Americans have no influence at all. Thats the conclusion of Professors Martin Gilens of Princeton and Benjamin Page of Northwestern University, who analyzed 1,799 policy issues and found that the preferences of the average American appear to have only a minuscule, near-zero, statistically non-significant impact upon public policy.
Instead, American lawmakers respond to the demands of wealthy individuals (typically corporate executives and Wall Street moguls) and of big corporations those with the most lobbying prowess and deepest pockets to bankroll campaigns.
The second fact is most big American corporations have no particular allegiance to America. They dont want Americans to have better wages. Their only allegiance and responsibility to their shareholders which often requires lower wages to fuel larger profits and higher share prices.
Let's see, average Americans have no influence on elections and corporations have no allegiance to America. That, my fellow DUers, is the truth of American exceptionalism.

Way to terrify the little girl Ted. By the way, that fire you mentioned isn't the world going up in flames, it's your pants you lying sack of teabagger crap.

Bachman films scene in Sharknado 3
http://talkingpointsmemo.com/livewire/michelle-bachmann-sharknado-3snip:
Former Rep. Michelle Bachmann (R-MN) filmed an appearance in "Sharknado 3" outside the White House on Wednesday.
According to the Huffington Post, Bachmann will play herself in the third made-for-TV movie about killer sharks in tornadoes.
"My name is Michele Bachmann and I play Congresswoman Michele Bachmann," she said in an interview with the cast, according to the Huffington Post.
"It wasn't anything offensive. It was just fun," she said about her role in the film. "This was a total stretch for me!"
A more appropriate movie would have been "Bachnado" which depicts her reichwing vomitus raining from the sky drenching her enthralled teabaggers.

With rethugs trying to sabotage the Iran deal, and cheerleading for another war, I know
their progeny will be thundering off to the enlistment offices.
Most likely the sound made by these chickenhawks will be
crickets..................................
