Let me say I am one of the fortunate ones:

I recently went to the hospital with chest pains (everything is OK) and was kept overnight to monitor things. I am fortunate because I have health insurance.

The bill was $18,000 dollars for one night. I had to pay only a fraction of it.

This experience only reinforces my belief that Single Payer is the only to prevent the ongoing bankrupting of many people in America.

WTF--$18,000.

Just last week, CNN wrote about the ten-year anniversary of Thomas's last question at oral arguments. That anniversary, February 22, came on the same day the Supreme Court first heard oral arguments after the death of Justice Antonin Scalia, who was Thomas's ideological soul mate and who had defended his lack of questions over the years.

Was that oral or Ouija Seance/arguments?

Reich Wing Senators Run and Hide to Avoid Questions About SCOTUS Obstruction

WASHINGTON -- Republican senators are finding themselves in the hot seat for promising to block President Barack Obama's potential nominee to replace the late Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

As Democrats tried to raise the pressure on their recalcitrant colleagues on Thursday by accusing them of abandoning their responsibility to the Constitution, Republicans on Capitol Hill were ducking and dodging reporters' questions on what's shaping up to be one of the biggest battles in Washington.

Several senators ran away from The Huffington Post this week as we tried to ask if they thought a Supreme Court nominee should get a hearing.

Sen. Joni Ernst (R-Iowa) said she had to "go vote," even though she could have talked as she walked to an elevator down the hall. Sen. David Vitter (R-La.) didn't even let HuffPost get the full question out before saying, "I don't do hallway interviews." Sen. Dan Coats (R-Ind.) said he had to "run to a meeting" and disappeared into an elevator. Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) listened to the question and, with a blank look, said, "I'm not doing any interviews."

Forget run. More like slink and cower. Better if they were all frogmarched out of Washington.

Lawyer Says Scalia Can Vote from The Grave

Anti-government attorney Kory Langhofer argued over the weekend that the Supreme Court could continue to decide cases 5-4 in favor of conservatives after the death of Antonin Scalia because the deceased justice could effectively cast votes from the grave.

“There’s no Ouija board required to figure out how Justice Scalia would vote on these things, he’s already voted,” Langhofer told KPNX during a panel discussion on Sunday. “We’re at the second-to-last step in how these cases unfold when Justice Scalia died.”

Nothing new here. Thomas has appeared dead, brain or otherwise, on the bench for 20 years.

Just watched Senator O. Hatch on CNN say he wants to

remove the SCOTUS nomination because it would cause "a political brouhaha". That the nomination would damage the reputation of the court.

Reputation, WTF reputation after Shrub v. Gore and Citizens United.

Strategy of Reich Wing for the Long Term

1. Nominate klowns for the Presidency in order to stir up the base.
2. Use Koch money and the irate base to win off year elections to keep the House of Representatives and sometimes the Senate.
3. Win every State office they can.
4. Gerrymander the Districts every 10 years in order to preserve their advantage.
5. Suppress the vote wherever possible.
6. Block every proposal by a Democratic President by pointing to their dominance at every level of government but the Presidency
7. Use dark money and voter suppression to eventually steal the Presidency.
8. Rinse, repeat until they create a Theocratic State.

Lesson: even this year's Klown Kar by the Reich Wing has a meaning behind it.
