st johns wart is an herbal supplement

and not a homeopathic remedy which is in the alternative herbal medicine category. there is a difference.

i encourage you to learn the distinction. homeopathy has a 200 + yr history of proven homeopathic remedies backed with meticulous records and methods of provings by samuel hahnemann. 200+ years - not something pharmaceutical companies can claim for any of their patented chemical compounds nurtured more by corporate greed and not persons with a drive and commitment to healing disease.

alternative medicine is the broader category which includes other healing modalities such as herbals, bach flower remedies, chinese herbal medicine, indigenous herbal medicine, shamanic healing, acupuncture, etc.

western medicine has made some progress - but has really declined in efficacy due to greed and arrogance from refusing to acknowledge medicine practiced for thousands of years by indigenous cultures around the globe.

in my opinion, western medicine does not compare to the time tested hahnemann, chinese herbal, and many other efficacious indigenous modalities for treatment. at least they have the integrity to serve by healing - over money.

are you aware that many chemical compounds out released by american pharmacies are not as regulated as the public is led to believe? they are too often summarily given approval with out the time tested and quality assurance purview by the fda more often than you think.

there are quality, tested

supplements and homeopathic remedies which i purchase and they are not a waste of my money, either.

but not the pockets of pharmaceuticals

which supposedly only develop medicines they can patent and sell for hundreds of dollars per dose to treat the symptoms and ensure there is no cure?

oh, and have you ever read the side effects and contraindications for pharmaceuticals printed in such teeny print that no one bothers to read them?

and, do not overlook the truth of who is also stripping the pocket books of the poor and middle class: doctors and medical facilities and insurance companies that reap benefits from prescribing medicines & procedures that do more harm than good.

they are all a disgrace and make a mockery of the oath to heal - choosing money over true medicine to make poor people poorer. they strip the middle class of their savings and retirements and sanity with the game of kicking coverage, or acceptance, and deciding which procedures and medications are even allowed for a sick person when they and their family are at their most vulnerable state.

hospitals and doctors may be able to set a bone or transplant a heart and have the technology for expensive machines ~ but ~

no thanks. i'll take the bowl of herbs and an organic bone broth with some sunshine and laughter.

p.s. i'll take 200 years of traditional provings over 3 months of questionable testing of questionable pharmaceuticals compounded with questionable ingredients in substandard environments with minimally trained "technicians".

i figured this kind of anti homeopathy propaganda would emerge following the vaccine controversy.

there are no patents for traditional homeopathic remedies so, there is no money in them - except for perhaps an affordable 3 months of doses for $13. can't make trillions of dollars at that rate, right.

agreed elias - respect the house one is in

if one has criticisms or sanctions meet on neutral ground and at least have some knowledge and understanding of the other country's history, culture, customs - and use them as tools/ insight to reach common ground & achieve / negotiate compromise instead of demanding like an arrogant self righteous bull in a china shop. offending the other country achieves nothing but hostility and resentment, enemies, and war.

i have a true respect for the way she handled the press conference today

beginning with a rebuke of the 47 traitors.
she served the president and our nation well as secretary of state.
it is ridiculous how the rethugs want blood and her personal emails - sheesh. for all of our sake, they better not get them. every appointed member of someone's cabinet is vetted for integrity and honesty to reflect the standards of the elected commander & chief. we know what liars the bush administration turned out to be & it is a reflection of their entire administration. however, president obama's administration has shown otherwise & i expect she has proven herself as sos under president obama.

hope she has some competition at the primaries and a debate - because i do see her as a war hawk and a wall street/corporate supporter and i want to hear from her on issues of war, wall street, the environment, social security, education, etc. because i consider myself a socialist democrat.

however, if she wins the primary, i will vote for her. i will NEVER give my vote away to a candidate from another party again if it means giving my vote to a lying, repiglican, again.

it is their way of flogging the president

to humiliate him and "whip him" into "place" because they certainly can no longer string him up a tree. they have stated over and over that the president has outstepped his bounds with executive orders, etc. up until now it has been words and blocking legislation along with attacking just about anything he has favored.

it is hideous for me to write these words. but when this news was announced earlier today - i really tried to understand why the self righteous legislators would do something so dangerous to sensitive negotiations - this is what it looks like to me. they must have a whole lot of skin in their "game".

this is what happens when belligerence is "tolerated" without consequences in order to insure and safeguard our democracy.

right here with you, bigtree

i have never been to ferguson. but, i have faced 12 aimed and ready rifles held by sheriffs at 2 am one morning - in my robe, holding my 2 month old, my dog growling at the aggressive "officers". they were after a high school age young man - who had fled a fender bender at the local 7-11. he had parked his vehicle in the driveway to our home.

they threatened to shoot me and/or my baby if i moved! they threatened to shoot my beautiful eurasian dog 'moses' who was protective of me and the baby! it was crazy! for a fender bender?

the young man had fled on foot into the woods across he road. it was not until later we realized they thought the young man was my 16 year old brother. we are a brown and red mixed family. the sheriffs thought they were justified in pursuing the fender bender with loaded rifles aimed at anyone connected to their target? they would not have pursued a white suspect the same way. for a measly fender bender? no.

what is happening in ferguson is CHANGE. it has to change because the african americna people of ferguson and generations to come deserve to live in just community. until 2 weeks ago, only the citizens of ferguson were aware how ugly and offensive the hatred and dehumanization of african americans had insidiously permeated every aspect of the ferguson white community and government. it has been shocking to see the white hatred toward people of color still persist to such a putrid level.

it is going to take all of us who believe in humanity and justice supporting the african american community of ferguson. it must STOP.

we must never still our voices in our battle for justice. never.

What can we do today to oppose global atrocities and violence?

it isn't just the crisis in the middle east - horrible things are occurring all over the world!

to end my own nightmares of insignificance, i am committing to act against the atrocious genocides, bombing, maiming, raping, and pillaging of innocents going on around the world.

today i begin sending a ripple of compassion, dignity, respect for the victims of the ongoing terror and violence in the middle east and elsewhere. honestly, i am upset by ALL of it EVERYWHERE and on every continent - including the disrespect for all creation and the earth.

intent is everything when affecting change. ripples can become waves of nonviolence across the world. the intent of my action is to honor and respect the dignity and sanctity of those suffering in war torn areas. i see the whole picture. human actions of violence and hate have escalated and are perpetuating on many levels. it must stop now.

i commit to doing the following and anyone may also act as an individual who has similar concerns and who is willing to contribute a ripple of change ~ anytime:

# for one hour - one can observe an intentional silence and respect for the suffering and the dead on both sides of violence.

# for one day - one can abstain from purchasing items - other than those needed in cases of emergency or medical supplies.

# for one week - one can turn off the lights in the evening. one may interpret the significance of this action accordingly. for me, it symbolizes acknowledgment of those who are suffering for lack of common needs. and to bullies it says, nope, tonight you do not get my $$.

it seems too many leaders across the world have priorities far above preserving the sanctity and dignity of humanity on this planet. rather than act in the best interests of humanity or responsible utilization of the earth's "resources", they obfuscate, lie, and perpetuate violence on innocent people, animals of the land and sea, and the earth for money and to "prove a point". as symbols of obliteration, missiles, fracking, and gigantic mechanical earth movers come to mind.

perhaps a withholding of our dollars spent on electricity, fuel, and shopping may speak to them.

i do not understand the karma that is being played out ~ but, the unending attacks on innocent children, the disabled, and the elders - and all living things along with the withholding of water and basic human rights by bullies on every continent reflect the very behaviors that have destroyed civilizations.

anyone can join me to create a ripple of compassion and nonviolence - at least with intention and awareness.

peace, hopemountain

perhaps we do know but have forgotten

and now we are remembering which is why the truth of it resonates so deeply to our own heart and emotions.

the elephants, whales, horses, dolphins, cats, dogs, wolves, bears, deer, and many types living creatures are helping us remember because many more of us are opening up and listening.

wait until you can hear the plants and the waters, the mountains, and the rocks. i hope it is not too late.

thank you for the recommendation, joanbarnes.

thank you for the olive branch

it is beautiful.

united we stand, divided we fall.

it is my understanding the president has followed a long held (since Lincoln) belief that choosing persons of other parties to hold positions in their cabinet to be an expression of true democracy and protection of our constitution. however, now such thinking is proving to be folly because the corporatists and republicans are blood and guts deceivers. they seem to only see our government and our citizens as their "precious" gold mine.they do not care for the people much less our environment. it is all only a means to an end - a big fat bank account.

as for the xl pipeline, president obama has said that he will not support anything which endangers the safety of our environment and people's lives. yet, there are those in high government offices who are interfering with investigations which have uncovered evidence of contamination & who are shutting down these very investigations.

we, the people who care about these issues cannot shut up nor let up at this point. sometimes i think the president hears us and other times, i'm not so sure. he heard us about climate change - but then signed for added drilling off our coasts. ???? wtf? yes, i am upset about this - having grown up in santa barbara and having witnessed our coastline dotted with oil platforms - and the horrible oil spill washed up on our beaches. i was in high school and a budding activist/environmentalist.

the environment is an important issue. did you know the head of the usda is former monsanto? along with toxic dna in our food supply, i see fracking and reckless mining of natural resources as destructive to the future of our loved ones and our planet.

many people in government & across the country have their hands in the financial pot, perhaps even our potus (i hope not !) through their investment portfolios. if you know folks with 401k's or 401c3's, they may not be fully aware of exactly where their retirement funds are invested (but they should!). when i had mine, i went green. not many investment firms offer this option. but i chose one that did.

as for my personal situation, it is not good. but i'm grateful because it could be worse. in fact, i know it would be worse if another goper was our potus.
