Yes, be careful what you pray for!!!!!

On the worst day of my life, the sight of a GOP circular firing squad lifts my spirits high.

Lizzie the Hun is finally exposing her true nature to the world;

greedy, grasping, heartless imperialism. Poster child for the oligarchs. I'll stand up and cheer the day Northern Ireland finally kicks her to the curb with the rest of the British 'empire' and reunites in peace with its counterpart to the south. Maybe someday Scotland will wake up too, but Wales already has started to rumble. Eventually the old witch will pay the piper.

If Charles has an iota of sense, he'll cut the unwilling portions of the 'United' Kingdom loose while he has a chance to do so and survive. Or does anyone else remember the time in London when English crowds attacked his limo? I still have pictures of that. If that bunch of vipers and parasites winds up having to live a little lower on the hog, boo hoo. Down with imperialism everywhere, I say. Tyrants have to expect trouble when they rob the masses blind.

Speaking from experience,

if you enter a pasture with a bunch of cows and sit quietly on the ground, they'll come and form a close circle around you, facing inwards. Then they'll stand there and stare as long as you care to let them. I've often wondered if this behavior is more than simple curiosity. Maybe they react as if the human sitting down is a calf, perhaps in trouble or something.

BTW, I don't suggest this rural pastime when there are young calves about, since cows are very protective of their young and far less accepting of anything unusual at that stage. The very same cow that accepted you w/o question in October or November might be ready to trample you on sight in Spring.

Oh, I do hope the UAW wins a recount. You know the GOP BLACKMAILED those workers! They're

the ones who need to man up and speak up for themselves (and the rest of the working class) instead of diving under the table at the first shot fired by management.

I've always loved that poster, took a screenshot; can't see it too often - it's so true.

The conservatives and haters will hold their breath like little kids til they collapse and die before they'll give President Obama the first speck of respect or acknowledgement, much less appreciation and love. But guess what? We can make up the deficit, pulling together with all our might. To paraphrase Mark Twain, reports of his lame duck status are premature.

They worship Ayn Rand, or more accurately, themselves in her image.

I never pass up a chance to point out that she ended up broke and living on the Social Security system she decried, and the Randian CEO of Sears has managed to drive that company into the ground.

That's not what the big bang theory says, quite. For instance, science declares that even in our

demented age, matter can neither be created nor destroyed, only changed. Therefore, SOMETHING had to exist to fuel the Big Bang. Try to remember what MLK said; there is no conflict between science and religion. The one addresses how, the other, why. Stir the pot however you will, there's no real fight between the two.

If you came to cross wits with Rug, Fortinbras, and quite a few others,

You're overmatched.

With me you might have a chance? but not the rest of them.

Someday you'll get to ask that very question if you still want.

But Joseph Campbell said when that time comes, we'll forget our questions because they'll all be answered anyway, and we'll have better things to do than to dwell on inconsequential matters.

About IrishAyes

Still an ardent Irish-American Catholic damnYankee Yellow Dog Democrat socialist after all these years. (cue Simon music) Army brat and wife for many years, now have been on the loose far longer than I was married. After my two red chows died, I took in a mini-beagle cross that I named Molly Maguire, thinking she might need a good Irish name like my original real one. Later she got a baby sister, a smooth-coat JRT I named Brigid after the greatest of the ancient Celtic goddesses. My great-grandfather and his son fought for Michael Collins and barely made it out of Ireland one step ahead of John Bull. They slipped over to Wales for new identities and then forward to the States for a fresh start. That makes me second generation of illegal but certainly justified immigrants. There are precious few people to whose defense I fly immediately, but the list includes Hillary Clinton, President Barack Obama even when I disagree with him - it happens! - and living Irish patriots Gerry Adams and Martin \\\'Mind Your Kneecaps\\\' McGuiness. I pray earnestly for a united and free Ireland rescued from all official British occupation, with every square inch of alleged \\\'ancestral lands\\\' now held immorally and illegally by the invaders returned to the rightful owners. Irish-only rule for Ireland. No foreign masters anymore! I find it passing strange when Brits chide ME about \'interfering\' in Irish politics!
