wealthy Saudi royal attracted criticism on social media after he apparently offered luxury cars to fighter pilots participating in a bombing campaign in Yemen.
Earlier this week Saudi Arabia announced the end of the first phase of its military campaign in Yemen. And in a celebratory gesture Prince Al-Waleed bin Talal, one of the country's richest men and a member of the Saudi royal family, tweeted to his 3m followers on Twitter: "In appreciation of their role in this operation, I'm honoured to offer 100 Bentley cars to the 100 Saudi [fighter] pilots".

Anonymous Activist Gets Potholes Fixed By Drawing Giant Penises Around Them
THE CITY OF MANCHESTER CAN IGNORE ITS RESIDENTS, BUT THANKS TO WANKSY, IT CANT IGNORE THE ONE-EYED MONSTER.
Like many cities, Manchester, England, is plagued with potholes. One half-mile stretch of road can have as many as 70 holes. After claiming he saw his friends injured in pothole-related bike accidents, one anonymous resident has taken matters into his own hands.
He goes by Wanksy. And using what appears to be an industrial level chalk, he draws penises around the potholes, creating moments of visual terrorism that the city cant ignore. Really. Because according to the Manchester Evening News (MEN), within 48 hours of Wanksys efforts, many of Manchesters problematic potholes, which had been a nuisance for years, were filled. Within a week, even more were fixed.

Brutal Baltimore Beatings Worry Press Advocates
Journalists covering riots in Baltimore were attacked and robbed Monday as furious locals confronted police and looted stores after the funeral of Freddie Gray, who suffered a fatal injury in police custody.
Washington Post columnist Petula Dvorak was shoved to the ground and robbed of her phone. Baltimore Sun photo editor Chris Assaf was tackled by looters and beaten. Oliver Janney of CNN said he was jumped, suffered a broken nose and was robbed of his phone.
A cameraman for CCTV America was attacked by protesters and had his camera stolen. A tweeted photo shows blood streaming down his face.
A video team from The Daily Caller also was attacked and robbed. Reporter Connor Wolf suffered a broken nose. Another reporter, Casey Harper, was hit with a liquor bottle that fractured his cheekbone.
WNEW-FM reporter Steve Dorsey, meanwhile, was hit in the face by a protester. His phone was stolen. In earlier protests on Saturday an RT reporter was robbed on camera.

Prospects fading for 'NBC Nightly News' anchor Brian Williams' return
Many in the media business believe that the future looks bleak for suspended "NBC Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams.
NBC News executives are in the midst of an internal review into Williams' reporting, and it will be at least five more weeks before a decision is made on whether he returns. Williams was benched in February after falsely stating that he was in a helicopter that was hit by a rocket-propelled grenade during the 2003 U.S. invasion of Iraq.
Speculation that Williams is a goner heated up last weekend after several reports based on unnamed sources said NBC's review found numerous situations in which the anchor publicly embellished statements about his reporting. Some competitors even suggested that NBC was behind the leaks as a pressure tactic to get Williams to resign and let the network reduce or get out of its contractual obligation to pay him more than $50 million over the next five years.

Michelin restaurant in Ginza refuses reservations by foreigners
On April 8, the secretary for Chinese journalist Mo Bangfu telephoned Sushi Mizutani, a 10-seat restaurant located in Tokyos ritzy Ginza district, to make a reservation for four people.
The reservation was on behalf of Bangfu, who was hosting three guests from the Communist nation. The secretary, a Japanese female, was told that seats were available on the requested day.
However, once the course of conversation revealed that the party would in fact consist of foreigners she was informed that the restaurant has a policy of refusing reservations from non-Japanese.
Mo, a 30-year resident of Japan, then telephoned the restaurant himself and received the same information. It was disappointing, Mo told evening tabloid Nikkan Gendai (April 26).
